Gigantamax pokemon locations

Gigantamax pokemon locations DEFAULT

While all Pokémon in Sword & Shield have the ability to Dynamax, not all can Gigantamax, or G-Max. The latter is a special form with visual differences from its normal appearance. Even if the species does have a Gigantamax Form, not all individuals can access it. Only special Pokémon captured in the Wild Area’s Max Raid battles are able to.

This location guide will show you where the Gigantamax Pokémon spawn and make hunting for them much easier. It was compiled with the help of Japanese site Game8 and Twitter user Eclipse.

This guide contains information and locations of all Gigantamax Pokemon appearing in the games Pokemon Sword and Shield. Read on for information about how to encounter each of these Pokemon in Max Raid Battles.

Gigantamax Meowth.jpg
Gigantamax is a phenomenon in the Galar region wherein Pokemon change into a new, mega-sized form. Their HP is boosted, and their moves turn into powerful Max Moves, shared with Dynamax Pokemon, or G-Max Moves, which are unique to each Gigantamax Pokemon.

Differences between Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon

Gigantamax Symbol.jpeg
Even if a Pokemon species has a Gigantamax Form, not every member of that species can Gigantamax. You'll need to find a Gigantamax Pokemon from a Max Raid Event, by giving your Pokemon Max Soup to unlock its Gigantamax potential.
How to Gigantamax Your Pokemon

Make Max Soup.jpg
In The Isle of Armor DLC, a new feature called Max Soup will allow a Pokemon which previously could only Dynamax to become capable of Gigantamaxing. You'll have to collect three Max Mushrooms around The Isle of Armor to make it.

How to Make Max Soup

Although they are rare, Gigantamax Pokemon can appear at Dens around the Wild Area and the Isle of Armor. Try throwing a Wishing Piece into one of the Dens below – if a thick purple beam comes out, you just might have a Gigantamax on your hands!

The following Gigantamax Pokemon can only be obtained via The Isle of Armor DLC, or by trading with another player.

Certain Pokémon have the ability to Gigantamax and not only grow bigger, but temporarily change in form, as well as learn some exclusive G-Max moves. These Pokémon are harder to find, defeat and catch; this guide is meant to help you locate where these mons are so you can catch ’em all!

This guide will show the locations of all thirteen Generation 8 Gigantamax Pokémon.

HOW TO FIND A G-MAX RAID

To find a Gigantamax Pokémon, you’ll have to go to certain areas in the Wild Area, where you’ll encounter dens. Some dens have a burst of light flowing through them, which means there’s a Raid going on inside it. The Pokémon is these raids are set to a specific Pokémon, and there’s a chance that said Pokémon could be a Gigantamax form. Dens can have to types of light bursts flowing through them, a pink burst or a more intense purple burst. The latter light has a higher chance of rare Pokémon appearing, so keep a lookout on those. If a den doesn’t have light coming through them, you can always throw in a Wishing Piece to force a raid to occur. These can be found or can be purchased in the Galar Region. They’re quite expensive so use them wisely.

GIGANTAMAX CORVIKNIGHT

First off we have Gigantamax Corviknight, which can be found in “Giant’s Cap” in the Wild Area. Pokémon Shield players will have a higher chance of finding this Pokémon in raids.

We recommend taking a Fire or Electric type Pokémon for this battle, since it’s Super Effective against it. It’s best stats are HP and Defense, so go all out using your strongest attacks against it.

corviknight

GIGANTAMAX ORBEETLE

Next we have G-Max Orbeetle, which can be found at either “Bridge Field” or “Dappled Grove” dens in the Wild Area.

This Pokémon has some great Defense and Special Defense, so it’ll resist some heavy hits, but its Bug/Psychic typing makes it weak against Fire, Flying, Rock, Bug, Ghost or Dark type moves.

orbeetle.png

GIGANTAMAX DREDNAW

G-Max Drednaw can be found at “Giant’s Cap” dens in the Wild Area. Pokémon Sword players will have a higher chance of encountering a G-Max Drednaw in raids.

Before going into this battle, we recommend having a Grass type in your team, since the Water/Rock typing makes it x4 weak against it. Its High Attack stats make it a deadly opponent to face against.

drednaw

GIGANTAMAX COALOSSAL

This Gigantamax form is exclusive to Pokémon Sword and can not be found in Pokemon Shield. You can find this form in “Giant’s Seat” in the Wild Area.

Its Rock/Fire typing doesn’t do it any favors with its x4 weakness to both Water and Ground type moves. To compensate for that weakness, it has pretty good HP and Defense stats.

coalossal

GIGANTAMAX FLAPPLE/APPLETUN

Both Pokemon versions transform into the same forms when Gigantamaxing, though their stats are different. It can be found at the “Dappled Grove” in both game versions, though Flapple is exclusive to Sword and Appletun is exclusive to Shield.

Flapple has better Attack and Speed, while Appletun has better HP, Special Attack and Special Defense. Both have the same Defense stats. Both share the same typing, making them x4 weak against Ice type moves.

flapple appletun

GIGANTAMAX SANDACONDA

The Ground type Pokémon Sandaconda is located at dens in”Dusssty Bowl” in the Wild Area.

It’sss weak againssst Water, Grasss and Ice typesss. Itsss bessst ssstatsss are Attack and Defenssse. (That’s enough of that segment. Hopefully there’s no more snakes for the rest of this guide!)

sandaconda

GIGANTAMAX CENTISKORCH:

This Fire/Bug Pokémon can be found at the “Stony Wilderness” in the Wild Area.

Its typing makes it x4 weak against Rock types. It’s strong suits are HP and Attack, so be careful!

centiskorch.png

GIGANTAMAX HATTERENE:

Next off is G-Max Hatterene, which is located at “Bridge Field” in the Wild Area.

Be extra careful with its Special Attack stats, which is a lot higher than its other, more decent stats. Use Poison, Ghost or Steel type moves for this fight.

hatterene

GIGANTAMAX GRIMMSNARL:

The Dark/Fairy type G-Max Grimmsnarl can be found at “Dusty Bowl” in the Wild Area.

Grimmsnarl has a great base attack stat so be careful for its punches. It also has some good HP and Special Attack stats so watch out for that as well. We recommend using Poison, Steel or Fairy type moves against it.

grimmsnarl.jpg

GIGANTAMAX ALCREMIE

Alcremie gets a whole lot sweeter when gigantamaxing, as it transforms from whipped cream into a massive cake that looks like it came straight out of Carlo’s Bakery from “Cake Boss”. This creamy Pokémon can be found at “Bridge Field” in the Wild Area.

This Fairy type is weak against both Steel and Poison type moves, but it knows how to take a hit with its great Special Defense stats. Beware its Special Attacks as well as they can pack a punch!

alcremie.jpg

GIGANTAMAX COPPERAJAH

The Steel type elephant Copperajah can be found at the “Stony Wilderness” sector of the Wild Area.

Its best stats are HP and Attack, so be extra careful when facing against it. It’s weak to Fire, Fighting and Ground type moves.

copperajah

GIGANTAMAX DURALUDON

To end off the guide to hunting down G-Max Gen 8 Pokemon, we’re taking a look at Duraludon, the Steel/Dragon type Pokémon. It can be found in raids in “Giant’s Seat” at the Wild Area.

It’s weak against Fighting and Ground type moves. It’s unique typing makes it resistant to 9 different types, as well as being completely immune to Poison types. It’s best stats are Defense and Special Attack.

Duraludon

Stay tuned to our guides of all Generation 1 and 5 Gigantamax Pokémon locations, as well as all the Timed Exclusive Event Pokémon, the Secret Gigantamax Pokémon and the Currently Unavailable Gigantamax Pokémon.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been around long enough now that it's easy to take for granted. But it's not the first time a shared universe of Marvel Comics characters showed up on screen. No, the FIRST MCU was in the '80s. Spinning out of the smash hit The Incredible Hulk, Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno took their small screen superhero act to the next level. This is the Inside Story of the original shared Marvel world, The Incredible MCU That Time Forgot. The mini-doc features the Hulk himself, Lou Ferrigno, along with Eric Allan Kramer who played Thor, the original Daredevil Rex Smith, Elizabeth Gracen whose spy Jasmin was for all intents and purposes Black Widow, and writer Gerald Di Pego, who scripted two of the three films. The cast and crew talk about the original series, coming back with The Return of the Incredible Hulk, and riding that success through The Trial of The Incredible Hulk before wrapping up the trilogy with The Death of The Incredible Hulk.
