World of Warcraft: Legion: Affliction Warlock guide ()

Affliction Warlocks are - to borrow an expression from the Death Knight spell book - the masters of death and decay. Playing an Affliction Warlock is all about placing and managing multiple damaging and debilitating curses on several enemies, and then reaping - no pun intended - the rewards over time. This Affliction Warlock guide will help you do just that.

In WOW Legion, the Affliction specialisation was further tuned towards this direction of managing multiple damage-over-time spells across several targets, yet at the same time it retains the ability to summon and control powerful demons to fight for the Warlock and enhance his or her abilities.

In this Warlock guide, we&#x;re going to showcase a fantastic Affliction levelling build that's a lot of fun to play and will take you through the levelling process at a brisk pace. We&#x;ll also provide clear instructions for your ability rotations and the reasoning behind them, so you can truly master this build and customize it to your liking if you so choose.

As usual, this levelling build can be easily adapted to the endgame upon reaching the level cap - and, of course, the growth of your character is far from over once you get there. You will need to keep developing your Artifact Weapon, something that we will also help you with on the next update.

As the expansion progresses, we&#x;ll move into more endgame content - advising on specialisations that maximize dungeon and raid DPS output - and help you build an Affliction Warlock that will shine in both PVE and PVP scenarios.

Editor&#x;s Note: Update #1 (Patch ) - The Return to Karazhan patch brings an overall increase in the Affliction Warlock&#x;s damage output, boosting many of its staple spells and abilities, while changing Unstable Affliction, allowing it to stack up to five times per enemy. Our talent recommendations and rotation sections have been updated to reflect these latest changes.

Affliction Warlock talent build

What follows are our choices - and the reasons behind them - of Warlock talents. At the moment, we&#x;re focussing on a levelling build, but soon we&#x;ll add a version focused on end-game content.

This is our preferred build for levelling as an Affliction Warlock. It focuses on survivability and mobility over raw damage output, as Warlocks have more than enough of that by default.

LevelTalent OptionReason for Choice
15Drain Soul - Upgrades Drain Life, increasing its damage and healing output while generating a Soul Shard if the target dies while channelling. As you will see below, our levelling build is based around placing damage-over-time spells upon multiple enemies and letting these kill them passively. This strategy requires extra survivability.
30Absolute Corruption - Upgrades Corruption, making it permanent and increasing its damage by 25%. Against enemy players, the duration becomes 60 seconds. This is the better talent to use when fighting multiple targets at once, which is our goal with this build. If you find yourself being overwhelmed and feel the need to only take care of targets at once, pick Contagion instead.
45Demonic Circle - Demonic Circle summons a circle that lasts 6 minutes at its target location, and to which you can teleport to on demand, clearing all movement slowing effects. This gives you an interesting movement option, and a sort of "escape plan" if you decide to face an enemy several levels over you.
60Siphon Life - A new DoT ability that lasts 15 seconds and heals you as it damages the target.Another survivability-based choice, this is in fact the ability that holds the build together, giving you a fire-and-forget tool that damages targets and recovers your life.
75Dark Pact - Sacrifices 20% of your demon's current health (or your health, if no demon is present) to shield you for % of that value for 20 seconds. It has a 1 minute cooldown and works even if suffering from control impairing effects. It&#x;s possible you're sensing a pattern to our choices here. Yup, this makes you harder to kill. Again. If you feel you&#x;re invincible as it is, go with Burning Rush instead for a nice quality-of-life speed boost improvement.
90Grimoire of Supremacy - This allows you to permanently use Doomguards and Infernals as pets. These big, meaty demons are great for distracting enemies while your spells kill them over time. Which one you use is mostly a matter of preference, but the Infernal is our recommendation.
Phantom Singularity - This is a high-damage AoE with a big range, that deals its damage over 16 seconds, and heals you for 30% of the damage dealt. When a bunch of enemies are hitting you while dying from your damage-over-time spells (but not dying fast enough), this one seals the deal.

Affliction Warlock rotations

Warlock rotations and spell priorities are highly variable between specialisations. That said, the common ground is that they all tend to be proactively methodical rather than reactive. While some of your abilities may generate buffs that you need to take into account during combat, playing a Warlock is more about thinking ahead and planning your casting sequences so you can make the most out of your empowering cooldowns, or periods of increased enemy vulnerability.

The Affliction specialisation places particular emphasis on damage-over-time spells. If you are unfamiliar with the concept, it helps to visualise a Warlock as someone who places a curse on an enemy, making it wither and die over a short period of time, as opposed to a Mage who blasts their opponents with a high-impact, immediately effective spell.

This means that against a single-target, a Warlock can maintain a sustained output of very consistent damage. While questing in particular, this class can easily damage several enemies at once.

In order to achieve good results though, it is of the highest importance to keep track of the debuffs placed on your targets and their duration - something that is made much easier by enabling Blizzard's new and improved combat plates (press V on the keyboard). In addition to this, you might want to experiment with the Interface - Names options menu, and increase the size of said combat plates.

While tracking debuffs is the most important factor when playing Affliction, it&#x;s worth noting that Warlocks have an additional resource called Soul Shards. Some of your abilities generate Soul Shards when you kill an enemy, and your character can hold up to five.

As with all resources in World of Warcraft, the key concept here is to be ready to spend one once you reach the 5 Shard limit, so you won&#x;t waste any that are generated as a result of your ongoing rotation.

Affliction Warlock: Single-target rotation

We&#x;re including a single-target rotation here for completion&#x;s sake. The truth of the matter is that the optimal Affliction leveling build thrives in multi-dotting , which means you are supposed to place your damage-over-time spells on a target and then move on to the next one - the previous target(s) might harass you for a while but will often die without need for any further interaction on your part.

This single-target rotation will only be of use when you need to fight a tougher mob, although even in these cases you will most often use the multiple target rotation, as that kind of enemy will usually have minions.

As of Patch , a single target can have up to 5 Unstable Affliction at once, so it&#x;s in your best interests to stack it up to that point and then recast as often as needed to maintain this level of damage.

ActionCondition / Further Instructions
1Unstable AfflictionIf you have at least 2 Soul Shards. Repeat until you are at 1 Soul Shard.
2AgonyIf target has no Agony debuff, or it has 5 seconds or less remaining.
3CorruptionIf target has no Corruption debuff. Due to our talent choices, this should not need refreshing.
4Siphon LifeIf target has no Siphon Life debuff, or it has 5 seconds or less remaining.
5Reap Souls (ability provided at lvl with your Artifact Weapon)If at 12 stacks of Souls.
6Summon Infernal
7Phantom Singularity
8Drain SoulIf under 35% HP. Cast on the target with the lowest health.
9Unstable AfflictionIf you have Soul Shards. Cast on the target with the highest health, and multiple times if possible.
10Drain SoulIf there&#x;s nothing else to do.
11Repeat from Step 2

Affliction Warlock: Multiple-target rotation

ActionCondition / Further Instructions
1Unstable AfflictionIf you have at least 2 Soul Shards.
5Switch Target. Repeat from Step 2 into as many targets as you feel comfortable with. Feel free to move around and repeat the initial rotation on new mobs as the previous ones die while chasing you. Most questing mobs will die from the initial debuffs before they become a threat. If you feel like you are in danger of dying (dropping under 50% HP is a good mark) or it&#x;s obvious one or more mobs won&#x;t die from the initial DoTs, move on to the next step.
6Reap Souls (ability provided at lvl with your Artifact Weapon)If at 12 stacks of Souls.
7Summon Infernal
8Phantom Singularity
9Seed of CorruptionIf 4 or more targets close to each other.
10Drain SoulIf under 35% HP. Cast on the target with the lowest health.
11Unstable AfflictionIf you have Soul Shards. Cast on the target with the highest health, and multiple times if possible.
12Drain SoulIf there&#x;s nothing else to do.
13Repeat from Step 2

That's it for now. Next up we&#x;re going to go through your Artifact Weapon and how to best upgrade it. Let us know in the comments what else you'd like to see from this guide moving forward!

Affliction Warlock Inevitable Demise TalentInevitable DemisePassive
Affliction Warlock Drain Soul TalentDrain SoulChanneled

Nightfall: Corruption damage has a chance to make the next Shadow Bolt instant and do 50% more damage.

Inevitable Demise: Damage with Agony increases the damage of your drain soul by 15% stacking up to 50%.

Drain Soul: Replace Shadow Bolt with a channel doing % more damage when the target is under 20% if a target dies while getting drained you gain a soulshard.

Raiding:Drain Soul Strong for shard sniping and the execute damage.

Mythic:Drain Soul Strong for shard sniping and the execute damage.

Tier 2 (25)

Affliction Warlock Writhe in Agony TalentWrithe in AgonyPassive
Affliction Warlock Absolute Corruption TalentAbsolute CorruptionPassive
Affliction Warlock Siphon Life TalentSiphon LifeInstant

Writhe in Agony: Agony stack up to 18 stacks and start with 4 stacks.

Absolute Corruption: Corruption will become permanent and deal 15% more damage

Siphon Life: An additional DoT that will heal you for 30% of the damage it does.

Raiding: Siphon Life works well with Malefic Rapture by increasing it’s damage but depending on build you may not have enough GCD to keep everything up then Writhe in Agony or Absolute Corruption will come in handy depending on if you play Sow the Seeds or not.

Mythic+: With recent buff of SoCSow the Seeds build is too strong for m+ which makes Absolute Corruption useless and there isn’t enough GCD for Siphon Life which makes Writhe in Agony our only talent in this tier.

Tier 3 (30)

Affliction Warlock Demon Skin TalentDemon SkinPassive
Affliction Warlock Burning Rush TalentBurning RushInstant
Affliction Warlock Dark Pact TalentDark PactInstant

Demon Skin: Soul Leech passively recharge % maximum health every 1 sec up to 15% of maximum health.

Burning Rush: Increase movement speed by 50% dealing 4% of maximum health every 1 sec.

Dark Pact: Sacrifice 20% max HP gaining % shield of sacrificed HP.

Demon Skin is strong when there is consistent ticking damage to help the healers. Burning Rush is very good when there is a lot of movement when you can't pre-plan it with Circle. Dark Pact is very good if there is a short high burst mechanic that you need to stack extra health/shield to survive.

Raiding: Situational, all 3 are viable depending on the situation but with the recent buff of Dark Pact it makes it a very good option in this tier.

Mythic: Situational, all 3 are viable depending on the situation but with the recent buff of Dark Pact it makes it a very good option in this tier.

Phantom Singularity: A strong AoE DoT that damages everything in a yard radius healing you for 25% of damage dealt.

Vile Taint: Strong burst AoE DoT costs 1 shard to cast and slowing targets by 30%.

Phantom Singularity is the strongest for a single target and you want to line it up with your shard dumping for most damage output.

Raiding:Phantom Singularity is a strong single target/cleave talent which also increases damage of Malefic Rapture. For some bosses with stacked targets Sow the Seeds may also be good.

Mythic+: With recent buff of SoCSow the Seeds build outperforms any other build in m+ by a mile regardless of losing single target damage.

Howl of Terror: Instant fear all targets within 10 yards for sec breaks on damage taken.

Darkfury can be good if there are a lot of adds you need to stun or use it often. Mortal Coil is very strong just as a 20% heal every 45 seconds. Howl of Terror can be hard to find the right time to use due to fears breaking very fast.

Raiding:Mortal Coil Very strong sec heal to help out the healers.

The Best Talent Choices

Level
Recommended choice - Deathbolt
Deathbolt - Deals Damage equal to the 30% of your DoT's remaining Damage on the current Target. This gives you the highest boost to Single-Target DPS and has nice synergy with the Summon Darkglare.
Nightfall grants your Corruption's periodic damage Ticks a 25% chance to increase Damage of your next Shadow Bolt by 25% and make it an instant cast. This provides lower Damage boost than Deathbolt, and clogs up your rotation, making you starve for free Global Cooldowns. Drain Soul is a replacement for Shadow Bolt, it deals channeled Damage, that is increased by % against Targets below 20% Health, over 5 seconds; if your Target dies during the channeling, you gain a Soul Shard fragment. This might greatly help with your resource generation in the Add-Heavy encounters and Mythic+ but is generally much weaker than the  Deathbolt.

Level
Recommended choice - Siphon Life
Siphon Life - A spell that deals Damage over 15 seconds, while also Healing you for 30% of the Damage dealt. This provides you with the highest Single-Target Damage boost of this row, combined with some extra Healing.
Writhe in Agony increases maximum stacks of your Agony by 5 (from 10 to 15). This might be useful when fighting multiple stacked enemies, but is rather weak and should not be considered. Absolute Corruption increases Damage done by your Corruption by 15% and makes it permanent. This is the best choice for Multi-Target Raid encounters and Mythic+, especially if the Targets are far apart from each other.

Level
Recommended choice - Burning Rush
Burning Rush - Increases your movement speed by 50%, but damages you for 4% of your maximum HP every second, you can't be reduced below base movement speed during uptime; it lasts until canceled. This Talent greatly boosts your mobility and lets you lower your Downtimes significantly because of that. It has fewer uses in static encounters, however, and should be swapped as needed.
Demon Skin makes your Soul Leech absorb Damage equal to 15% (up from 10%) of your maximum Health and its Absorption is recharged at the rate equal to % of your max HP per second. It is a good choice for more static and damage-received heavy engagements. Dark Pact converts 20% of your current HP into a shield that absorbs Damage equal to % of the converted Health. This must be used while on High Health in order to be useful, making it very weak as a reactive Cooldown. It works best as a Telegraphed Damage soaker.

Level
Recommended choice - Phantom Singularity
Phantom Singularity - Deals Damage, over 16 seconds, to your Primary Target and all Targets within 15yd around it, healing you for 25% of the Damage dealt; it has a second cooldown. This helps with your Single and Multi-Target Damage, gives you some extra Burst AoE potential, and makes you harder to kill, thanks to the Healing that it provides.
Sow the Seeds makes your Seed of Corruption embed a Demon Seed into one additional nearby Target. This Talent makes your Seed of Corruption descent for pure AoE scenarios but provides much less value than the Phantom Singularity in almost all cases. Vile Taint causes the ground around your primary Target to explode with vile energy, inflicting Shadow damage over 10 seconds to all Targets within a 10yd radius, the movement speed of all affected Targets is also reduced by 30%; it has second Cast Time, second Cooldown, and costs 1 Soul Shard. This is a good AoE Talent, but using it over the Phantom Singularity noticeably lowers your Single-Target Damage output.

Level
Recommended choice - Demonic Circle
Demonic Circle - Marks a spot with the Demonic Circle, you can Teleport to the marked location once every 30 seconds, Teleporting removes all movement impairing effects. This is the best option for Raids as it boosts your mobility, and lets you flat out skip or ignore some of the encounter Mechanics. It is also the most fun Talent to use.
Darkfury provides you with the second Cooldown reduction on your Shadowfury, which improves your Crowd Control capabilities during the Mythic+ progression. Mortal Coil is the Horrify effect combined with a self-heal and is useful mainly in Dungeons, and situations when you don't need extra flexibility or mobility provided by the Demonic Circle.

Level
Recommended choice - Haunt
Haunt - A tormented Soul Haunts your Target, dealing moderate Damage, and increasing all Shadow Damage you deal to the Target by 10% for 15 seconds if Haunted Target dies during the uptime, Haunt's Cooldown is reset; it has second Cooldown. This is the best choice for the Single-Target DPS.
Shadow Embrace causes your Shadow Bolt (or Drain Soul if you have picked the corresponding Talent) to also increase your Damage dealt to the Target by 3%, this effect stacks up to 3 times, and lasts 10 seconds. This effect falls behind Haunt when it comes to the Single-Target DPS, and keeping it stacked up on multiple Targets is nearly impossible without ruining your rotation and overall Damage output. Grimoire of Sacrifice allows you to absorb the power of your Demon pet, to occasionally deal additional Shadow Damage, by sacrificing(killing) it. You also gain your Demon's main ability. This is the worst choice in general, it has some uses in the Mythic+, however.

Level
Recommended choice - Dark Soul: Misery
Dark Soul: Misery - Increases your Haste by 30% for 30 seconds; it has 2-minute Cooldown. This is the best choice for Single-Target DPS, which also gives you more Burst Damage potential.
Soul Conduit makes your Soul Shards refound themselves 15% of the time. This Talent adds RNG to your gameplay and gets outclassed by the other two choices when it comes to the generated value. With Creeping Death your Unstable Affliction, Siphon Life, Corruption, and Agony will deal their full Damage 15% faster. This works best when there are multiple long-lived Targets in the Encounter, as it lets you Cleave them more effectively.

The Basic Rotation

Affliction Warlock's rotation revolves around maintaining the Damage over Time effects on your Target while spending Soul Shards to increase DPS.

Use the following priority list to maximize your Single Target Damage output:

Tips and Tricks for Improving your Gameplay

  1. This might sound counterintuitive but always cast Deathbolt on Cooldown, do not delay it in order to refresh your DoTs. This will boost your overall Damage output.
  1. Refresh your dots only if they are below 30% of their max duration (in order to capitalize on the Pandemic mechanic - when you refresh a DoT that is below 30% of its duration the new duration will be added to the previous DoT's remaining Timer), but NEVER let them wear off completely or you will lose on Damage.
  1. Always be Casting! Use your filler abilities to avoid Downtime, and cast instant spells when relocating.
  1. Use your Cooldowns properly, and don't hold on to them for too long, as it will make you lose Damage! (check the Rotation Section for more details on Summon Darkglare and Dark Soul: Misery usage)

Use this interactive tool to see how your favorite talent + covenant combinations stack up against each other.

Why are all the bars almost full? If you optimize your rotation, soulbind tree, and gear for each and every talent + covenant build, their max potential output is going to be very close. With few exceptions, they are so close you would have a hard time measuring the difference in-game if you play each build optimally. Talents (and your covenant), more than anything, change how the game feels when you play it. We do not observe much build diversity in WoW. This tool is giving you the real data behind the potential of each talent, and the data shows us that there is no objective reason for a lack of build diversity. Our goal is to encourage players to try more builds by giving you real numbers behind the trade-off between different talents.

Click on any talent to lock it in. The remaining data will be filtered to only combinations using the talent(s) that you have selected. Use the pickers in the legend to modify the cutoffs between the green, yellow, and orange tiers as you see fit. The color-coding is there to help you visualize which builds you would consider.

Disclaimers: Certain talents can have situational use that makes them better or worse than this average data. This data assumes you can play every build equally well and have access to optimal gear.

We combine our optimizer and simulator to do a comprehensive test of talents and covenants. The optimizer is used to find sets of optimal gear (soulbind tree, stats, trinkets, etc.) for each relevant talent combination. We simulate all those sets and compare it to create this data. No one else is doing this! Less popular talents rarely get a fair analysis, but we specifically take time to optimize all potential builds.

Talent combinations are put into one of three tiers and color-coded. We purposely provide this information as tiered, not a specific ranked list of talent combos. An ordered list of the simulated DPS of different talent builds would be misleading. Simulators are great tools, but they are best used to examine trends in large amounts of data.

Our default cutoffs for the tiers are set so that all Tier 1 (green) builds can be competitive at the highest levels of play. Tier 2 (yellow) are still good, but might not get top parses as often. Tier 3 (orange) is where you would actually start to feel a difference without logging the results.

Talents that are faded out are utility talents or talent rows with minor impact that don't measurably change performance. Choose whichever one you like better or that is appropriate for the fight you are doing.

Talents affliction warlock

Affliction Warlock has a history of being among the top-performing specializations in World of Warcraft—and Shadowlands is no exception.

The spec uses damage-over-time abilities like Agony, Corruption, and Unstable Affliction to slowly eat away at your enemies’ health bar, all while ‌dispensing powerful ‌single‌ ‌and‌ ‌multi-target‌ ‌damage with Malefic Rapture.

Best Affliction talents for raiding

  • Level 15: Drain Soul
  • Level 25: Siphon Life
  • Level 30: Burning Rush
  • Level 35: Phantom Singularity
  • Level 40: Mortal Coil
  • Level 45: Haunt
  • Level 50: Dark Soul: Misery

Tier one (Level 15) talents for Affliction

Drain Soul is the go-to talent in tier one, beating out Nightfall and Inevitable Demise by a considerable margin. It deals more single target damage and helps to easily maintain stacks of Shadow Embrace—increasing damage dealt to the target by three percent for 12 seconds and stacking up to three times.

Inevitable Demise is a viable option in some encounters and can be especially powerful in fights like Mythic Sludgefist, but Drain Soul will always be your safest option.

Tier two (Level 25) talents for Affliction

Siphon Life is outright the best single-target damage option in tier two. It&#;s another damage-over-time ability, similar to Agony and Corruption, catering to Malefic Rapture windows. It also heals for 30 percent of its damage dealt—another added bonus.

Tier three (Level 30) talents for Affliction

This row is entirely down to personal preference.

Burning Rush stands out as the best talent due to its increased movement speed. But Demon skin, which recharges your Soul Leech shield by one percent every second, and Dark Pact, which sacrifices 20 percent of your demon&#;s health and grants you a percent shield for 20 seconds, are both entirely viable.

Tier four (Level 35) talents for Affliction

Phantom Singularity is another damage-over-time ability, this time with a second cooldown. When combined with Agony, Corruption, Unstable Affliction, and Night Fae&#;s Soul Rot, it increases Malefic Rapture&#;s damage output. The ability also deals area-of-effect damage, making it a powerful option for encounters with adds.

Tier five (Level 40) talents for Affliction

Tier five, like tier three, is down to personal preference. Darkfury reduces Shadowfury&#;s cooldown by 15 seconds, Mortal Coil &#;horrifies&#; an enemy and heals you for 20 percent of your maximum health, and Howl of Terror lets loose a howl, causing five enemies with 10 yards to flee in fear.

Mortal Coil is ordinarily the strongest option because of its heal, but it shouldn&#;t make a great deal of difference either way.

Tier six (Level 45) talents for Affliction

Haunt is the clear winner in terms of single-target damage in this row. When applied to a target, it increases your damage dealt by 10 percent for 18 seconds and applies a stack of Shadow Embrace. It&#;s easy to maintain and has a second cooldown, meaning it has no downtime.

Dark Caller, which lines up your Summon Darkglare with your Dark Soul: Misery looks tempting, but it simply can&#;t keep up with Haunt&#;s damage output.

Tier seven (Level 50) talents for Affliction

Dark Soul: Misery is the best talent in this row. It increases your haste by 30 percent for 20 seconds, allowing you to easily dish out Malefic Raptures on a two-minute cooldown.

Soul Conduit, which has a chance to refund Soul Shards, and Creeping Death, which makes Agony, Corruption, Siphon Life, and Unstable Affliction deal their full damage 15 percent faster, are far weaker alternatives.

Inevitable Demise IconInevitable Demise is close to Drain Soul IconDrain Soul in terms of single target damage, becoming the better option when more targets are involved, as long as Drain Soul IconDrain Soul cannot leverage shard sniping.

Tier 3 (Level 30) Talents for Affliction Warlock

Burning Rush IconBurning Rush remains the most versatile option, as Warlocks have little base mobility. Burning Rush functions both as a means to stay in range and position aggressively, but also as a means of dodging mechanics. It is my opinion that movement speed offers the greatest defensive benefit in most situations, and you should default to this talent.

Dark Pact IconDark Pact is a good option for encounters where you need to soak a mechanic or survive a telegraphed amount of high damage. It is important to note that the damage absorb is based on current health, rendering this ability useless as a reactive cooldown. For Dark Pact to be effective, it needs to be used while you are close to full health to mitigate a future amount of damage.

Demon Skin IconDemon Skin is a good choice for encounters with low movement and consistent damage intake.

5.

Tier 4 (Level 35) Talents for Affliction Warlock

Phantom Singularity IconPhantom Singularity is the default choice for pure single target.

Vile Taint IconVile Taint is the well rounded pick, albeit numerically inferior to Phantom Singularity IconPhantom Singularity until 7 targets, and worse than Sow the Seeds IconSow the Seeds with 3+ targets.

Sow the Seeds IconSow the Seeds is the best choice with 3 or more targets, at the expense of single target damage.

6.

Tier 5 (Level 40) Talents for Affliction Warlock

With Demonic Circle IconDemonic Circle becoming baseline Mortal Coil IconMortal Coil is now the default choice for most situations. It offers a noticeable heal on top of an additional form of Crowd Control, which can prevent a wipe, especially in Mythic dungeons.

Darkfury IconDarkfury is an option for dungeons and Mythic+, allowing you to Crowd Control groups of enemies far more often.

Howl of Terror IconHowl of Terror is perhaps the more dungeon oriented option in the row, allowing yet another form of AoE disruption on a relatively short cooldown.

7.

Tier 6 (Level 45) Talents for Affliction Warlock

Haunt IconHaunt is currently the best talent on the tier in most raid and Mythic+ situations.

Shadow Embrace IconShadow Embrace should be considered in situations where there are 2 to 3 targets alive for long period of time.

Grimoire of Sacrifice IconGrimoire of Sacrifice could be an option for Mythic+, however, it is currently outscaled by the other 2 options while not providing any meaningful benefit, beside sacrificing Summon Voidwalker IconSummon Voidwalker for an additional defensive cooldown.

8.

Tier 7 (Level 50) Talents for Affliction Warlock

Creeping Death IconCreeping Death is currently outscaled in any situation by the other two options, as it does not synergise with our new main spender Malefic Rapture IconMalefic Rapture.

Dark Soul: Misery IconDark Soul: Misery is the standard choice for most raid encounters, as it delivers the strongest 1-2 target damage.

Soul Conduit IconSoul Conduit thanks to its synergy with Malefic Rapture IconMalefic Rapture is a compelling choice.

PvP Talents (War Mode)

Under our Talents section, there is the option to enter "War Mode". Enabling War Mode provides the following benefits:

  • PvP talents enabled in the outdoor world;
  • 10% increase in World Quest rewards at maximum level;
  • 10% more experience gained while leveling;
  • Earn Conquest Points which can reward gear every week.

With the benefits of enabling War Mode for leveling and PvE content, it is recommended you enable the feature. In most situations, this will allow for the maximum returns despite the risks. You will make yourself available for open world PvP, and the possibility to be "ganked" while leveling or doing World Quests exists.

  3. Bane of Shadows IconBane of Shadows causes damage over time effects to strike an additional time for 20% of their original damage while active. This offers a little bit of extra burst damage on a short cooldown.
  4. Deathbolt IconDeathbolt is a 40-second cooldown nuke that deals 40% of the total remaining damage over time effects on the target. It is generally used to catch people off guard and burst them.
  5. Soulshatter IconSoulshatter consumes up to the 5 nearest Corruption IconCorruptions dealing 10% of their maximum health and returning 1 Soul Shards for each enemy hit.
