15 Shows To Watch If You Like The

The has finished its series after its seventh series and ensured that fans were able to get a complete story. Shows from the science fiction fantasy genre, however, don’t have that long lives on-air, but The  lasted six years.

RELATED: The Characters Ranked By Intelligence

Now that the show’s over, fans should branch out and discover similar stories to expand their fandom list and find new shows. For this reason, here's a list of shows that will make fans of The  feel at home, but also deliver quality variations in the genre they love.

Updated on February 5th, by Kristen Palamara: The recently ended its run in , and fans of the apocalyptic drama are looking for new shows to watch that approach a post-apocalyptic world in a unique way just like The did. The juvenile characters on The were discovering earth for the first time when they're sent to test if conditions on earth are livable, and the basic plot of the series is unique and engaging. Post-apocalyptic shows continue to be a popular genre in both movies and on television and The balanced romance, the unknown, and wonder all within its apocalyptic setting.

15 The Stand ()

The Stand is a miniseries based on the Stephen King book of the same name that envisions a post-apocalyptic world after earth's population is decimated by a plague and the fate of the world's future is placed on a small group of survivors.

The survivors are in various age groups from a woman who is over a hundred years old to a much younger pregnant woman, but it's still a post-apocalyptic show that focuses on the ethos of good and evil throughout its run.

14 Snowpiercer ()

Snowpiercer the series began in  and is based on the original graphic novels and the movie from Bong Joon-ho of the same name. The series follows the same plot of the graphic novels and movie and follows various characters aboard a continuously moving train built to avoid the deadly conditions outside in the freezing apocalyptic climate.

The show centers on Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) who is part of the back of the train in the classist structure where the richest passengers are at the front and the stowaways are left to fend for themselves at the back.

13 Falling Skies ()

Falling Skies is another show about a post-apocalyptic world but instead of climate change or plague causing the apocalypse it was an alien invasion. The show focuses on a group of survivors who try to fight back against the aliens who capture teenagers for an unknown reason, at first, and are wiping out the rest of the human population.

The show ran for multiple seasons with an engaging and unique storyline and well-developed characters who were never guaranteed safety in the apocalyptic world.

12 Teen Wolf ()

Teen Wolf doesn't have an apocalyptic storyline but it does center on a group of teenagers trying to survive dangerous supernatural surroundings, and just typical high school life, in their small town of Beacon Hills.

Although there are several supernatural creatures, both friend and foe, that appear in the show they mainly focus on Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), who begins the show as a normal high school but is bitten and turned into a werewolf, and his friends.

11 Firefly ()

Firefly was a sci-fi western show set hundreds of years in the future and although it's not exactly an apocalyptic setting there are terrifying creatures, Reavers, the smuggler main characters run into and the show does have dystopian storylines.

The show has a huge following even though it doesn't have many eipsodes.Firefly was canceled early on in the series and only aired for one season, but the characters were brought back for a movie called Serenity that continued their story.

10 The Walking Dead ()

As far as post-apocalyptic shows go, The Walking Dead is at the top of the echelon – no other series comes close to it. This is why it should be the first stop when searching for another story featuring a group of survivors in a world that’s out to kill them.

RELATED: The Walking Dead: 5 Characters Who Would Make The Best Romantic Partners (& The 5 Worst)

The Walking Dead has been on-air for several years, and in that time the show and its characters have transformed completely. Remember, never get attached to a character here, as there are only two regular cast members from the first season remaining, and no one from the premiere episode. It’s an incredible watch to see how not only zombies spell civilization’s doom, but how the apocalypse has brought out the worst in mankind.

9 The Leftovers ()

Fans of The will be familiar with content that is aimed toward younger audiences, but we all have to grow up sometime, and The Leftovers is such a show for those prepared to have an experience that is mature in content.

The premise involves the sudden disappearance of 2% of the population in the world; an event called the Departure, and the fallout that this rapture-like event has caused. The Leftovers doesn’t paint a friendlier picture than usual apocalyptic shows geared toward young fanbases, and makes full use of its cable freedom.

8 Terra Nova ()

In what is quite possibly the closest show in terms of premise fans can find for The , Terra Nova features a story that has humans from travel to a parallel universe Earth that resembles the Cretaceous period. They do so because the Earth in the future has been ravaged by overpopulation crises and air pollution.

Unlike The , the show features a family as the main protagonists, with the rest of the colony attempting to adjust into the society, while battling another group who have sights on the natural resources of this Earth in order to sell it in the future. It only had one season, but Terra Nova is worth a go to have a fresh perspective of post-apocalyptic material.

7 Manifest ()

A flight scheduled from Jamaica to New York experiences a case of extreme turbulence, but it manages to land in its intended destination. The twist here is that the flight was evidently missing for five-and-a-half years without the passengers ever knowing.

The series focuses on the survivors struggling to re-integrate into a society that has changed significantly during their absence, while also dealing with visions of what is to come in the future. Manifest has a highly intriguing premise, one that deals with dramatic fallout from the plot, while retaining aspects of the science fiction genre as well.

6 The Last Ship ()

It’s good to have a setting that not only acknowledges the post-apocalyptic nature of the genre but also has a certain level of hope attached to it. The Last Ship can claim to be such a show, as it follows literally a last US Navy ship that is humanity’s hope to find the cure to a virus that has wiped out 80% of the population.

It could be called an adult version of The , since the show has a similar style, but focuses on a group of adults – mainly Navy Officers. It ran for four years, during which it had enough quality material for fans of The to go and binge-watch the series.

5 Supernatural ()

There’s no post-apocalyptic world here, but the two protagonists here stop the apocalypse from happening several times during the show. Supernatural features two brothers who travel across the country hunting demons and monsters, with the initial plot focusing on them vanquishing the demon that killed their mother.

The fans must have had their fill of an abundance of characters to some degree, which is why Supernatural is absolutely the perfect way for a palette cleanser. The first seasons will accommodate the viewer nicely as it features a style geared toward teenagers; once they really get into it, viewers mature alongside Sam and Dean Winchester to witness them fight Satan himself, among several hundreds of primordial creations.

4 Fear The Walking Dead ()

The Walking Dead was a roadshow in its first few seasons, but it settled into one community eventually from where it hasn’t turned away. Fear the Walking Dead is the companion series that still hasn’t shunned its nomadic premise, as the world here is grittier than from the main show.

Fans will enjoy seeing the heroes be constantly on the run, with the zombie-infected world out to get them at every turn. Fear the Walking Dead also sees a regularly rotating cast, but its nomadic nature ensures fans stick to (and care about) a core group of individuals brought together with the hope of surviving a dying world.

3 Under the Dome ()

Coming from the very talented mind of Stephen King, Under the Dome is the inverse of The , with the story here involving people who are trapped inside a massive dome that has isolated them from the rest of the world. Due to the indestructible nature of the dome, the townspeople are now forced to survive off their own devices, and tension is super high.

Under the Dome goes in the nitty-gritty part of survival, with the townspeople panicking due to resources cutting down day-by-day. The viewer is kept intrigued by several storylines branching out, as people attempt to understand how to escape the dome, what it is, and the mysteries surrounding it.

2 The Expanse ()

Another show that can be considered as the upside-down version of The is The Expanse. The premise has the main characters in the backdrop of a future several hundred years away from ours, where humanity now survives in a space colony, with connections to Earth and Mars.

RELATED: 10 Shows To Watch If You Like The Expanse

The series thrives on the mysteries surrounding the fragile peace between the colonies, and the number of unexplained disappearances and tragedies aboard. The show, which is still on-air, keeps you on your toes with twists and reveals in regular intervals.

1 Lost ()

The show that brought mainstream attention to the science fiction genre, and walked away with major awards to boot, Lost is one show you cannot miss. The series follows the survivors of a plane crash that landed in the middle of the Pacific Ocean on a mysterious island. The resultant fallout between the survivors and the relationships they form between them is the base on which the show thrives.

With Sci-Fi and even supernatural elements injected into it, Lost has its hands on both sides of the wheel and steers into dramatic territory, while keeping its main genre alive. The overall mystery surrounding the plan crash is what will keep you watching one episode after another, culminating in a finale that is guaranteed to keep fans thinking after the end of the series.

The first premiered in to mostly positive, but mixed reviews. Critics were unhappy with the show’s reliance on genre clichés, but admitted that it pulled off some highly addictive storytelling. Luckily, things only got better from there. Over the last few years, the series grew tremendously, allowing the plot to evolve in unexpected ways and the characters to continually surprise us by taking on new and exciting challenges. Season 5, which ended recently, currently has a perfect % score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The show’s premise is intriguing enough to catch the eye of any serious sci-fi fan out there. The is set in the future, when humans live in a space habitat following a devastating nuclear apocalypse. But as the systems on the space station start to fail, juvenile prisoners are exiled to Earth to determine if the planet is habitable again. To their surprise, they find out that they are not alone, so a battle for survival ensues.

The series is action-packed, clever, and fun, making it the perfect binge for thrillseekers. Even better, each season ups the stakes and adds more nuance to the story, to the point where viewers will become compelled to press "Next episode" over and over again. No wonder you’re now looking for something to fill the void.

The returns with Season 6 in Until then, you can always re-watch the first instalments on Netflix. Even better, why not give these similar shows a chance? You might find a new favourite.

It looks like we don't have any coupons at the moment. Take a look at our most recent deals

1. The Walking Dead

If you’re a fan of post-apocalyptic shows, you’re probably already familiar with The Walking Dead. The hit AMC series is based on the comic books of the same name and follows a group of survivors led by former police officer Rick Grimes in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse. The survivors are constantly on the move, searching for safety. This is likely to appeal to those who enjoy the struggles faced by The , even if zombies aren’t necessarily your thing.

Moreover, The Walking Dead is fast paced and gory, building tension with each episode and ensuring viewers are compelled to find out what happens next. With eight seasons available to binge, it should be more than enough to tie you over for at least a couple of months. Stream it on Foxtel Now.

2. Falling Skies

We would be remiss to talk about sci-fi dystopian series without mentioning Falling Skies. The show takes place in the wake of an alien attack and follows the survivors, who are keen to take on the heavily armed and highly intelligent alien forces. The show is fun popcorn television, but also introduces a group of interesting characters.

Over the course of five seasons, the death toll continues to rise and the survivors face all sorts of unpredictable challenges, ensuring that sci-fi fans have little to complain about when tuning in. The series, executive produced by Steven Spielberg, is available to purchase from digital retailers like iTunes and Google Play.

3. The Tomorrow People

The Tomorrow People didn’t last long, but it offered some solid thrills while it managed to stay on the air. The series, a remake of the original British show of the same name, follows a group of humans born with paranormal abilities as they are hunted by military forces who believe them to pose a threat. They are considered to be early instances of the next state of human evolution, hence the show’s very on-the-nose name.

The series does have some problems – mainly a middling plot and some stale acting – but it’s filled with beautiful people forced to fight for survival, which makes it pretty similar to The . Plus, both shows were made for The CW channel in the US, so there’s no wonder they sport a similar vibe. Buy The Tomorrow People from iTunes.

4. Terra Nova

Terra Nova only aired one season, but it was a doozy. That’s not completely unexpected given the show’s wacky premise. The series starts in the future, when overpopulation and declining air quality threaten all life on Earth. As a result, the Shannon family travels 85 million years into the past to start a new civilisation. It’s a lot to wrap your head around, but once you do, you’ll quickly devour this short-lived and thrilling series that was cancelled way too soon.

The world in Terra Nova is fascinating (did we mention dinosaurs make an appearance?) and the characters are compelling enough to root for. As long as you’re ready to suspend disbelief, you’ll be treated to an epic adventure story. Terra Nova is available to binge on Netflix.

5. Shadowhunters

On her birthday, Clary makes a startling discovery – she comes from a long line of human-angel hybrids called Shadowhunters. Their main purpose? To hunt demons. As if this reveal wasn’t enough, Clary’s mother is kidnapped, so she has no option other than to enter the world of demon-hunting. Luckily, she’ll find some allies willing to help with the orientation.

Shadowhunters has been cancelled recently, but three seasons are available to binge on Netflix and fans are currently campaigning hard for the series to be saved. Regardless of whether that happens, it remains an exciting teen sci-fi drama, which has enough charm to fill the emptiness caused by The going on hiatus. Plus, if you enjoy the show, you can pick up the Shadowhunters books as well, which served as source material. They’re penned by Cassandra Clare.

6. Lost

Remember when everyone was obsessed with Lost and there were complicated theories about what’s going on and fierce debates over which hunky plane crash survivor Kate belonged with? If so, now’s the perfect time for a re-watch. If not, get ready for six seasons that will mess with your mind in the best way possible.

The series follows the survivors of Oceanic Flight after they crash on a mysterious island. They’re all harbouring secrets of their own, but that’s nothing compared to the surprises this lush new territory has in store for them. Addictive and well-written, the show grows more complicated as it progresses, so don’t feel too bad if you find yourself… well, lost. That’s the beauty of the series – it’s best to experience it without any prior information. You can purchase Lost from digital retailers like iTunes and Google Play.

7. Revolution

Can you imagine a modern world without electricity? That’s the premise behind Revolution, which takes place 15 years after an unknown event caused all electricity to stop working. People learn to adapt, but when the militia kills a man who supposedly had something to do with the blackout, his daughter sets out on a journey to discover what exactly caused the permanent blackout and whether there’s any hope of ever turning the lights back on.

Revolution’s strongest appeal is the world it paints. There are no computers, cars or any fancy technology. Instead, we get militia and heroic freedom fighters, empty cities and surprising imagery. As long as you’re willing to buy the show’s premise (no one managed to find a solution for the blackout in over a decade?), you’ll be in for a treat. Purchase Revolution from iTunes and Google Play.

8. 12 Monkeys

Loved the movie? The series is just as great. 12 Monkeys follows James Cole, a man from a post-apocalyptic future who travels back in time to the present. With the help of a brilliant virologist, Cole is looking to prevent the release of a deadly virus that will eventually annihilate the human race. An enigmatic organisation known as the "Army of the 12 Monkeys" is behind the virus; and they desperately need to be stopped.

Incredibly written and acted, 12 Monkeys manages to tell an intriguing and gripping story while also packing an emotional punch, which should be enough to keep viewers glued to the screen. Even more impressive, the series completely understands the rules of time travel and respects them, which is a treat for any fan of the genre. Binge the first three seasons on Netflix.

9. Battlestar Galactica

This series, which ran for four seasons, flawlessly combines political intrigue with fantasy drama to deliver an engaging and memorable story. A reinvention of the cult sci-fi series of the same name from the 70s, Battlestar Galactica is set in a distant star system and follows an old battleship named Galactica, hosting a fleet of survivors following a deadly nuclear attack perpetrated by a race of machines called Cylons.

Dark and twisty, the series offers enough political manoeuvrings and philosophical debates to be thought-provoking, but never crosses the line into preachy territory. Instead, it has all the elements of a well-paced sci-fi show, including captivating characters, unexpected ambushes and civilian kidnappings. You can purchase Battlestar Galactica from digital retailers like iTunes and Google Play.

This Brazilian dystopian thriller tends to fly under the radar, which is a real shame, as it features an intriguing premise that will especially appeal to The Hunger Games fans. 3% takes place in a world divided into two domains, one of destruction and one of progress. The catch? Only 3% of those that try to transition to the better side succeed; and they have to subject themselves to a state-imposed series of mental, physical and emotional challenges to do so.

While the series boasts a young and attractive ensemble, in the likes of The , its main appeal comes from the enthralling story. Fair warning – 3% may compel you to abandon all resemblance of a social life and binge-watch the whole thing in one sitting. Stream it on Netflix, where two seasons are currently available, with a third scheduled to drop sometime next year.

Travelers has a unique premise, which may prove enough to catch your interest. Hundreds of years into the future, the last surviving humans have figured out a way to send their consciousnesses back through time straight to our present. As a result, these "travellers" assume the lives of seemingly random people, but work together to save our race from a bleak future.

Besides a fresh take on the time-travelling trope, Travelers also shines thanks to great acting, thrilling developments and clever plotting. Besides handling their mission, the travellers also have to seamlessly integrate into their new hosts' lives without anyone finding out, which brings some humour into the equation. Binge it on Netflix.

The Expanse

The Expanse takes place hundreds of years into the future when humanity has colonised the solar system. The show is based on the series of novels of the same name written by James S. A. Corey. The story is complex and difficult to summarise in only a few words, so we’ll only give you the basics – a group of ragtag characters unravel a conspiracy that threatens peace in the system and the survival of the human race.

Visually stunning and deceptively smart, The Expanse is so good that Amazon has decided to save it after it was unceremoniously cancelled earlier this year. And Amazon wants to save it for good reason – the show has all the qualities of a hit, including mesmerising action scenes, fascinating character relationships and a puzzling world you’ll be dying to learn more about. For now, you can binge the show on Netflix.

Wayward Pines

Based on the novel series of the same name by Blake Crouch, this captivating show centres on Agent Ethan Burke, who travels to the seemingly idyllic, but strange town, of Wayward Pines to figure out what happened to a couple of his colleagues who went missing. As his investigation progresses, he slowly starts to question his own sanity, especially when he realises that the town is impossible to leave.

The series is the best kind of creepy. Come for the mystery, stay for the unsettling atmosphere and great performances. Before you write it off as a Twin Peaks rip-off, know that you’ll be in for a few fun twists midway through Season 1, when things get really interesting. If you’re missing The , Wayward Pines is like a bandaid – it will temporarily stop the longing. Purchase it from iTunes and Google Play.

Although it only survived for two short seasons, Jericho quickly became a cult sci-fi series, having aired from to The show follows the inhabitants of the small Kansas town of Jericho in the aftermath of a nuclear attack on 23 major cities in the United States. Jericho and The share a few common themes, including community identity and internal/external threats, which may make this one a worthy binge for fans of the CW hit.

Jericho is all about how people react when there’s a crisis, which makes for pretty compelling television. Moreover, it’s the kind of series that doesn’t dumb things down, so we advise against watching while scrolling through your phone. It rewards viewers who pay attention. You can purchase Jericho from iTunes .

The Last Ship

The Last Ship takes place after a global viral pandemic wipes out almost all of the world's population. As a result, a lone and unaffected naval ship has to find a cure in order to stop the virus and save humanity from extinction.

This tense post-apocalyptic thriller may bring little new to the table, but the engaging cast and great action sequences make it a worthy successor for those who are suffering from The withdrawal. Overall, it’s a beautiful and scary show, one that will successfully make you want to find out what happens next. Stream The Last Ship on Stan.

7 Addictive Sci-Fi and Post-Apocalyptic Tv Shows Like "The " (Unsual Suggestions)

Rahul is a TV addict who can never get enough of good shows. His all-time favorites are 'The Wire', 'Breaking Bad', and 'The Sopranos.'

What TV Series Are Like The ?

What? Another teen show airing on the CW?" That&#x;s what went through my mind as soon as I heard that the CW was working on a show called The with teenagers as the main characters. And as it turned out, I was wrong. The show hooked me from the very first episode.

Despite getting off to a slow start, The is in a pretty sweet spot right now. With five captivating seasons so far, it's looking to go big with the next one.

I am totally addicted! If you are like me, you are looking for some other shows like The while waiting for the next season. Let's take a look.

Six Best Sci-Fi Shows Similar to 'The '

  1. Lost
  2. Battlestar Galactica
  3. Firefly
  4. Revolution
  5. Terra Nova
  6. Colony
  7. Snwopiercer

1. Lost

The plot revolves around a group of plane crash survivors. They are forced to work together when they find themselves stranded on a seemingly deserted island with no help in sight. It starts off as a survival show but soon blends some sci-fi and fantasy elements. We are introduced to time travel, ghosts, smoke monsters, and the afterlife as the show goes on.

During its course of six seasons, secrets kept unraveling only to reveal more puzzles. Just when you think you had everything figured out, it surprised you with another layer of mystery, compelling you to stay with it for another few episodes. It's surprising how easily they managed to keep it up for six years. Now that the show is over, will there ever be anything else that can replace it? Probably not.

Lost is one-of-a-kind. It has a legacy that can&#x;t be threatened by any other show. If you love shows like The , you will love what Lost has to offer. Just make sure that you have tons of spare time, because once you give a couple of episodes a go, you won't stop. There are a total of episodes.

2. Battlestar Galatica

What makes us human? This show asks this question time and again. Battlestar Galaticais a wonderful sci-fi series, telling a tale of battles between humans and robots for the control of Earth. The roles you may expect are reversed; robots are the ones who display humanity more often than not, obscuring the differences between man and machine.

If you haven&#x;t watched this show, put your life on pause and go buy it on Amazon. Everything from the cast, plot line, and acting have been handled with perfection. The actors did an amazing job of expressing the struggles of life.

At times, I found narrations to be a bit preachy. There were times when it felt as if the people were making childish decisions. It was a bit too predictable at times. Apart from that, everything was as good as it gets. It&#x;s one of the most consistent shows I have ever watched. Give it a shot.

3. Firefly

Fox has always had an eye for finding talent. It's just that they have had some of the worst executives in the world; they are notorious for cancelling promising shows. There was no doubt that Fireflywas amongst the best of its time. From the cast, acting, and gripping script, everything about the series was fascinating.

Firefly is the best example of what can happen to an amazing TV show when you don&#x;t have a good team of executives. It was one of the best sci-fi shows to ever hit the screens, never ceasing to amaze its viewers. They somehow still managed to screw it up. Fox cancelled the show before it could prosper.

Enough of my ranting. Here is some good news for you. Even though this show was canceled way before it even reached its prime, there is still a lot of meat to chew on. If you're looking for some good shows like The , give Firefly a go.

4. Revolution

The negative reviews this show received were a bit shocking to me. Granted, it&#x;s not TheWalking Dead, but it&#x;s not as bad as some reviews would lead you to believe.Revolutionwas never given the chance it deserved.

The show is based on a future where governments worldwide have fallen, and there is chaos all around as all electronic devices have mysteriously stopped working. Supplies are scarce, compelling people to form groups if they want to stay alive. The story picks up when some people decide to try to find out the reason behind the black-out. A pattern of discoveries follow and the mystery slowly begins to unravel. Every episode answers a few questions while raising a couple more.

I really loved the drama. There were some characters I loved to hate, and then there were others I pulled for. It&#x;s such a shame that NBC had to cancel it as it never managed to find its audience. Nevertheless, you still have two full seasons of this post-apocalyptic show to enjoy.

5. Terra Nova

No, Terra Nova is not as good as Jurassic Park, but did you honestly expect it to be? Comparing a big-budget movie to a TV show is not fair. Delivering eye candy is not the point for most TV shows anyway. They have to focus on a longer storyline and the careful development of characters while maintaining a sense of intrigue. The goal is to get audiences to turn up in large numbers when the next episode airs.

I believe this show was criticized for all the wrong reasons. If you give it a shot, don&#x;t be too quick to write it off from your viewing list. Even legendary shows like Stargate and Falling Skies got negative reviews in the beginning and went on to break records. Sadly, Terra Nova was not as lucky as those shows. It was canceled way before it got the chance to prosper and find its audience. Still, I think there is enough content for anyone to enjoy.

6. Colony

Colony is a unique dystopian series. It takes the premise of a future controlled by a police state and and gives it a twist; the brutal regime in control is an invading alien force. The series follows Will Bowman (played by Lost alumni Josh Holloway) as he searches for his missing son. As a former member of the US Army and FBI, he is forced to help the regime hunt down members of a resistance group. He eventually becomes a member of the these freedom fighters.

This series stands out for taking familiar historical events, such as colonization and Axis occupation during World War II, and giving them a sci-fi twist. It is a pretty effective way to provoke thoughts on history as well as compare them to similar events occurring today. The setting and characters may not be the most original, but the narrative is very engaging. It's a shame that the show only lasted three seasons. There was definitely quality entertainment during its run.

7. Snowpiercer

Based on the movie of the same name, Snowpiercer takes place after the events of the movie. Though it's not necessary to watch the flick, You'd understand the story and characters better if you watch it first.

The world is a desolate place, a frown wasteland where nothing ever survives, except for the few lucky souls riding a train that never stops. Back when everything was normal, nobody would believe that this project would ever succeed, but the train has proved them wrong with its' flawless record of over 7 years. Since that time, it has never stopped running, for stopping would mean everyone's death. There have been a few revolutions here and there, mostly by tailies (those living in the last bogies of the train), but it's been a smooth ride for the most part.

Things, however, turn sour when the talk of the next revolution beings making circulation. It's not only the inner turmoil they need to worry about; there's a much larger threat looming around the corner outside - something they'll inevitably face.

Cast of 'The '

The biggest strength of these shows is their large ensemble casts. It allows for more in-depth storytelling as character development and relationships can be easily intertwined with the progression of the narrative. Here is a look at the main cast of The .

  • Eliza Taylor as Clarke Griffin: Clarke asserts herself as the leader of the after they are dropped on Earth to test the viability of the air. She is willing to use ruthless tactics to ensure the safety of her people.
  • Bob Morley as Bellamy Blake: Bellamy is a co-leader of the He is very protective of his sister; he willingly shot at the chancellor so he could be shipped to Earth along with her.
  • Marie Avgeropoulos as Octavia Blake: Octavia is an outcast on the Ark since they have a strict one-child policy. She is the first of the group to actually set foot on Earth. She is somewhat troublesome for her rebellious nature.
  • Christopher Larkin as Monty Green: Monty is a valuable asset thanks to being a technological genius and being knowledgeable about pharmaceuticals.
  • Lindsey Morgan as Raven Reyes: Raven is a prodigy as a zero-gravity mechanic. She is able to escape from the Ark in pod and reach Earth.
  • Richard Harmon as John Murphy: John is one of the few actual criminals who were banished to Earth. He has his conflicts with the group but eventually develops into something of a leader and abandons his cruel ways.
  • Isaiah Washington as Thelonious Jaha: Jaha is a former chancellor of the Ark. He leads a group of followers to find a co-called city of light.
  • Henry Ian Cusick as Marcus Kane: Kane is one of the councilors of the Ark. He was initially in favor of population control, but he changed his viewpoints when he saw Earth was a viable home.

Your suggestions are most welcome. Do you think there is a show that must be included here? Just let me know through the comments section.

Travis on July 04,

Yeah, I too echo the sentiments of other commentators in that "The " is very addicting indeed. I don't often watch a T.V. series on anything. The first series (Lost) you mentioned, I've already seen. In fact when I was watching "The " I felt they were a few similarities. "Others" instead of "Grounders", both are in the woods or jungle, both set up camps, have powered buildings.

Weiss on July 01,

Colony is another good one!

Clarke Covington on June 12,

I love the for two reasons it&#x;s good and i have the same name as one of the characters.I&#x;m ready for season five to come out on Netflix. Bellamy and Clarke do reunite but Bellamy says with Echo which I think I terrible becouse Echo tried to kill Octavia. I have shipped Bellamy and Clarke trombone episode one. I&#x;m waiting for the show to come out on me Netflix. I really refuse to watch on CW. Only because I love to binge watch the

Joyce on June 07,

Yes, all of these were truly great shows, but, I don't understand why most of them was cancelled. This is one of the things I hate hollywood right now, because they have some truly excellent shows and then they cancel them. I've seen all of these shows and loved all of them. Apparently I'm not alone in how I feel, so, why are all the good shows being cancelled?????

Sticking with the Tribal theme, I found the New Zealand TV show 'The Tribe' was very good! Although a bit dated, as it was an early s series, even now I still find myself hooked. There are 5 series which just get better as they go on. It can be found on youtube.
