When you create your own mandala, think of it as an echo of your soul. Drawing and coloring a mandala can be a highly enriching personal experience in which you look inside yourself and find the shapes, colors and patterns to represent anything from your current state of mind to your most deeply-desired wish for yourself, for a loved one, or for humanity.

Mandalas are fascinating, and there are a number of ways to go about making them, but we are going to focus on the most simple mandala technique ever today. In fact, it&#;s sort of mind-blowing when you see how easy this project is to help you make really lovely, intricate-looking mandalas.

I found this wonderful easy mandala project on Incredible Art, and it&#;s a good one.

Art supples for making mandalas

Materials:

  • Paper &#; we used both regular printer paper and white card stock
  • Pencil (Looking for the best drawing pencils?)
  • Eraser
  • Small plate or other round template
  • Scissors
  • Spoon or other object used for rubbing the paper
  • Colored pencils, markers, watercolors, your coloring instruments of choice

First, a little info about mandalas. Mandala is a Sanskrit word loosely meaning circle. I assumed that mandalas were solely a Buddhist art form, but they have been created by people from different religions for centuries.

They are intricate, repeating geometric shapes that make up a circle. Basically mandalas symbolize our universe, and the idea that everything in our universe is connected.

If you are making these with kids, these will give them a taste of design, proportion, symmetry, and working with abstraction. Plus, they are meditative. And mathariffic. And beautiful.

Directions:

Trace a big circle on a piece of paper. We used a salad plate (at least they&#;re getting used for something.)

Cut out the circle carefully &#; hold 2 pieces of paper together to double time your cutting process, since you will want to be making more than one of these thangs.

Fold the circle in half.

Fold it in half again.

Fold it in half again (unless you&#;re making the simpler mandala).

Draw a design on one of the paper pie pieces, being sure that some of your lines touch the edges of the pie piece.

Using the existing crease, fold the drawn pie piece over onto the piece next to it and rub with the edge of a bowl, a bone folder, the back of a spoon, whatever will transfer the pencil marks onto the blank pie piece. Press pretty hard!

For some reason, I found that the bottom of my Speedball block cutter worked better than the back of a spoon, and the only thing I can think is that the plastic works better than metal?

steps for drawing a mandala

Go over the transfer lines with your pencil to darken them.

Fold these two pieces over onto neighboring two pieces and repeat the rubbing and darkening process.

Fold these 4 onto the blank 4 pieces and repeat the transfer.

Cool, huh?

Darken the transferred lines with pencil.

Color the design in.

Options

Folding: You can stop at folding the circle twice, which I recommend for kids, or if you want a simpler design. I liked the way this looked equally as much as the paper folded in eighths.

Draw over the pencil lines with a fat Sharpie marker and colored in with markers. This works better on the more simple mandala, since the lines on the more intricate ones will be obliterated by the big Sharpies.

Ultra fine Sharpies don&#;t work so well over the heavy pencil lines, so for more intricate mandalas you can scan them!

watercolor mandala drawing

I scanned this baby in, then adjusted the contrast in PicMonkey, and cleaned up the fold lines that showed up in the scanning process. I printed it out on white card stock and watercolor painted it. Oooooooh. If you like this idea, you&#;ll LOVE my Draw Your Own Damn Coloring Book.

Make tiny temporary tattoos from your scanned-in mandalas!

When you finish the pencil line darkening, flip the whole thing over and transfer it onto a sketchbook page. It will make a cool light background pattern.

Use transfer paper to make a t-shirt or canvas bag.

[mks_highlight color=&#;#e7e7e7&#;]ZOMG, when you have an extra 16 hours to waste, click on over to Mandala Maker and go wild. It&#;s totally addictive fun. [/mks_highlight]

Since you&#;re probably jonesing to keep using your markers, go have a look at all these Sharpie art ideas.

Hi guys and girls, in this tutorial I will be showing you how to draw a semi-circle/half of a mandala. This drawing will be a little more tricky than the first tutorial, so I suggest if you haven&#;t drawn mandala before to check out my previous post of how to draw a simple mandala. If you have already done so or know how to draw Mandala art then welcome to my Tutorial and I hope you enjoy it. 🙂

  1. First all you will need equipment this will include, white paper (or any colour of you choice),black fine liner, thick black fine liner, small ruler, big ruler, pencil, rubber, sharpener and a compass.

_

2. First of all with your blank page (the size of my page will be 22x22cm) you will need to find the centre. When you have found that get you ruler and draw a vertical line. As presented in the picture below.

_ (2).jpg

3. After stretch your compass out so it reaches across half of your page and start drawing your semi-circle.

_ (2).jpg

4. Once you have your guide line semi-circle get your ruler and measure it up to the centre line half way through the semi-circle and start drawing small dots/lines to every half centimetre.

_ (2).jpg

5. After you have set your lines, get your compass and start joining up the lines in to semi-circles. After that you should have about 21 semi-circles.

_ (2).jpg

6. When you have done this get your ruler and start drawing 6 diagonal lines (depending you your page size around 51/2cm between them) joining to the centre of you semi-circle. After you have drawn them you should have 8 sections.

_ (2).jpg

7. Now you have done this, you can start your design. I started with drawing small semi circles in the second row/circle. When doing this trying to keep it within the sections, as presented below I done 1 semi-circle per section.

_ (2).jpg

8. After you have drawn your semi-circles, within them start to draw smaller semi-circles.

_ (2).jpg

9. Moving on to the row above, you will want to use 2 rows for this (I used row 3 and 4), start to draw a petal per-section as shown below. Tip: when doing so you might want to find the centre of your section when drawing  the petal so it will look symmetrical.

_ (2).jpg

After drawing your petals, still keep within them as you will draw little swirls keeping within the 3rd row. As shown in the picture.

_ (2).jpg

Going back to the 4th row where you had drawn the petals, in-between the spaces of the petals draw small circles within the gaps.

_ (2).jpg

Next move to the row above (Row 5) draw 2/3 small triangles per-section.

_ (2).jpg

Staying in the same row, I then drew triangles in the opposite direction.

_ (2).jpg

Next moving up to the next row draw small circles, keeping to 3/4 circles per section.

_ (2).jpg

Moving up to the next row, I would recommend using 3 rows for this (I used row 7, 8 and 9). line up the centre of the top line of your 3rd row and mark it with a cross, before joining up two lines to the centre to make triangles within one section each.

_ (2).jpg

After you have drawn them stay within the triangle as you draw a line down the centre of them.

_ (2).jpg

Staying within the half triangle, after drawing the centre line giving the triangles two halves. In one half of the triangle start drawing diagonal lines going across. (I would stick to around 5 lines per triangle.

_ (2).jpg

Sticking within the third row of your triangle (this wold be my 9th row as shown in the picture) start to draw a cross in-between each gap of the triangle

_ (2).jpg

Once you have drawn the cross join them up with semi-circles.

_ (2).jpg

After you have drawn the semi-circles, within the semi-circles, draw smaller semi-circles.

_ (2).jpg

once you have done that, you would need to go to the row above the triangle and draw bigger semi-circles that will join the triangles together.

_ (2).jpg

Then in the row below draw small circles in-between the triangles and just above the smaller semi-circles below.

_ (2).jpg

After, above the semi-circles use 4 rows and draw a petal per-section.

_

Next, draw a smaller version of the petal inside the petal you just drew.

_ (2).jpg

Optional choice, after within the smaller petal I then drew a semi-circle with smaller semi-circles on top of it (like a flower) joining the semi-circle from the row below together. This is best shown in the picture below.

_ (2).jpg

Going back to the petals you drew, in-between the big and smaller petal, draw small circles inside. Tip: I would stick to the rows inside the petal to how many circles you should draw, I drew 3 each side and 1 on top.

_

When you have finished your petals, in the spaces in-between, draw a two semi-circles within each other. Make sure when you draw the semi-circles that they will finish a row below the petals finishes.

_ (2).jpg

Then draw smaller semi-circles on top of the bigger semi-circles that you just drew. (like half a flower)

_ (2).jpg

Now going to the row above the petals (row 14 shown in picture), draw loads of mini semi-circles filling up the row.

_ (2).jpg

After use the next 6 rows (which reaches the end of my 21 rows/template) to create large petals, which will be one petal per section.

_ (2).jpg

Staying within the petal, draw a small semi-circle inside doing one per section, as shown in the picture.

_ (2).jpg

Then on top of the semi-circle draw smaller semi-circles on top of it. (like half a flower.)

_ (2).jpg

After above the semi-circle (staying within the petal) draw 3 dots horizontally towards the point of the petal. (doesn&#;t have to be but I have drawn a large dot to a small dot).

_ (2).jpg

Going back to the semi-circle inside start to draw 2 curls opposing each other (this is optional).

_ (2).jpg

Now you have finished with the petal. go to the spaces in-between the petal and draw half triangles that will take up 3 rows.(half triangle is just two lines that come to a point like: /\)

_

Going inside the half triangles start to draw loads of little semi-circles to fill it up. (this can be as many as you want to draw).

_ (2).jpg

Now shade in the parts of the mandala that you wanted to be coloured in.

_ (2).jpg

Then all you have to do is go over your drawing in the fine liner, make certain parts bold by going over it with the thick fine liner. Finally rub out the pencil and you&#;re done!

Not feeling a drop in tension, Roman continued to move more intensively, slapping his hips on her ass. And again it did not last long at such a frantic pace, but this time he finished on her tender buns. Taking a package of napkins, he carefully wiped off his wife, and pulled on her panties.

Yes, there is an answer, looking somewhere in the direction of the window Surganov Andrey Odin. He fell silent, staring at the large window, barred with metal bars in the psychotherapist's office, Klimova. As if remembering something or thinking.

Then she answered She is always with me. Almost like a mom.
