Welcome to Francesca’s Cucina, a family-owned Syracuse Italian restaurant located in the heart of Little Italy.

The History

Syracuse Italian restaurants are known for their fantastic Italian American regional specialties such as Utica Greens and Chicken Riggies. Of all the great Syracuse Italian Restaurants it is said that Francesca’s Cucina serves the most outstanding examples of these local recipes.

The recipes have been handed down from generations of great Syracuse Italian Restaurateurs to the current chef owner. He is from a family of Syracuse Italian Restaurant owners that goes back four generations. His great grandfather owned an Italian cafe in Syracuse’s Little Italy neighborhood just two blocks from where Francesca’s Cucina stands today. This family pride and talent can be tasted in virtually every dish.

Dry Aged Beef

Francesca’s Cucina

is a Syracuse restaurant that takes great pride in creating dishes featuring the finest ingredients. Steaks created with dry aged beef are considered to be the pinnacle of flavor and texture. Dry aging is a traditional method of creating exceptionally tender beef.

The process uses the meat’s natural enzymes, along with the passage of time, to slowly tenderize the meat and enhance the flavor. Utilizing special meat coolers and extensive culinary technique Francesca’s produces all of their own dry aged beef in-house. These exceptional steaks are served in reserve quantities as a dinner special. Please contact the restaurant for information about daily specials.

James Beard House

We consider you family here at Francesca’s Cucina, and as family we like to fill you in on all the latest news! We are more than happy to announce that we were invited to cook at the James Beard House on St Joseph’s day. We served a St Joseph’s Day themed feast. This is a tremendous honor because only the elite chefs and restaurants are invited to host a meal at the James Beard House. Proceeds from the sale of seats at the meal support the James Beard Foundation which fosters culinary education.

The process started with menu planning and acquiring the finest ingredients. Wine parings were provided by many fine Finger Lakes region wineries. A hand crafted beer pairing was provided by a local craft brewery. The chefs had one day to cook in the James Beard House kitchen.

They prepared everything from scratch. The meal began with an outdoor cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception in the beautiful outdoor patio of the James beard House. The diners then went upstairs to the private dining room of the house for the dinner. Many courses were served. Each course was served with a pairing of wine or craft beer. After the meal Francesca’s Cucina Executive Chef came out to speak with the diners and engage in a question and answer session. The diners applauded the amazing meal and talented culinary staff. It was an amazing experience for both the diners and our talented chefs who created the meal.

Who has the best Italian food in Syracuse and Central New York?

This is a tough question, but only because Central New York has so many Italian eateries -- more than just about any other type of cuisine.

So our list is bound to start an argument. We picked some that are fancy and some that are casual, and some with innovative menus and some of the classic "red sauce joints."

So here we go -- Central New York's best Italian restaurants. Mangia, mangia!

    Angotti's Family Restaurant

    • 725 Burnet Ave., Syracuse; 472-8403.

Unpretentious is the best way to describe Angotti's, a casual family restaurant that has supplied Syracuse with plentiful servings of flavorful Italian (and Italian-American) classics since 1961. Make no mistake: Just because the servings are huge doesn't mean they're no good. From the Stuffed Shells to the Chicken Parm (and the pizzas and calzones), you'll find something to like.

    • 411 N. Salina St.; 478-0139.

    See the menu

Southern Italian cuisine gets inspired treatment at Asti, near the southern (downtown) edge of the Little Italy neighborhood. That means seafood is more than an afterthought here -- from scallops to shrimp to salmon. Veal, chicken and steak are cooked on a wood-fired grill. And the pasta and desserts are homemade.

    Attilio's Restaurant & Bar

    • 700 N. Salina St., Syracuse. 218-5085

    See the menu

It's hard to replace a legend, but Attilio's did that when it opened in 2010 in the space once occupied by Antonio's, a long-time Syracuse favorite. Attilio's is a lively and vibrant place with a chic look, and a wide range of Italian fare, including its famous Chicken Carnivalle, a version of confetti chicken.

    Basil Leaf Ristorante

    • 3920 Brewerton Road, North Syracuse; 315-214-0340

    See the menu

The Basil Leaf built a reputation in an intimate location at 101 Main St. in North Syracuse, then moved into more spacious quarters at Route 11 and Taft Road in 2013. It didn't lose a beat. Executive chef Billy Stamboly brings a Utica touch to his menu of chicken, veal, fish, steak and pasta dishes.

    • 101 Main St., North Syracuse; (315) 214-8911

    See the menu

A relative newcomer among several top-notch North Syracuse-area Italian restaurants, Grotto stepped into the spot vacated by Basil Leaf. It serves just a few "red sauce" dishes (but with a signature vodka-style sauce) and offers options like Veal Piccata, Cavatelli Puttanesca, and Seafood Fra Diavlo.

    Francesca's Cucina

    • 545 N. Salina St. Syracuse; 315-425-1556

    See the menu

A cornerstone of Little Italy, Francesca's offers an extensive menu of Italian appetizers, entrees and desserts, delivered in a charming atmosphere with attentive and knowledgable service. Steaks, veal, fish and pasta dishes range from the familiar to the imaginative -- but leave room for those homemade desserts.

    Joey's Italian Restaurant

    • 6594 Thompson Road. North, Syracuse; 315-432-0315

    See the menu

Ask a random sampling of people in Syracuse to name their favorite restaurant, and you'll find quite a large number of them will answer: Joey's. It's so popular, it spawned both a cookbook and a line of bottled sauce. It's also two restaurants in one: Fine dining on the first level and the more casual Pronto Joey's upstairs. It's all based on great service and an exhaustive menu of Italian favorites.

    Nestico's Restaurant & Bar

    • 412 North Main St., North Syracuse; 458-5188

    See the menu

Friendly, casual and comfortable is Nestico's signature -- but so is the food. And it doesn't take itself too seriously, with a menu featuring items like "Northwest of Utica Greens." The menu is a well balanced selection of steaks, seafood and pasta -- with a few non-Italian items thrown in. Owner Peter Nestico wants everyone to go home happy.

    • 311 S. Franklin St., Syracuse; 474-1153

    See the menu

It's hard to imagine modern Syracuse dining without Pastabilities. It's the oldest restaurant in the Armory Square dining and entertainment district, and the one that brought the area a certain swagger. The atmosphere can be fast and furious or intimate and romantic, and the food is fun, imaginative and full of flair. And the spicy hot tomato oil is one of Syracuse's greatest contributions to world cuisine.

    Rico's Ristorante

    • Rico's Ristorante, 320 East First St., East Syracuse; (315) 432-1862

    See the menu

Established in 1997, Rico's is another of Central New York's classic and traditional Italian-American restaurants. Comfortable atmosphere and comfortable food, both done well. Chops and steaks, veal and chicken, pasta -- and don't forget the Italian cookies.

    Rosalie's Cucina

    • 841 W. Genesee St., Skaneateles. 685-2200

    See the menu

For an upscale, fine-ding take on Italian cuisine, head to Rosalie's Cucina in Skaneateles. Prepare to be swept away. The regular dinner menu is filled with imaginative creations that celebrate Italy -- consider the wood-fired lobster tails with herbed butter risotto. In the winter, look for the Tuscan special 3-course menu on slower nights.

    Santangelo's Restaurant

    • 673 Old Liverpool Road, Liverpool, 457-4447

    See the menu

Santangelo's has thrived in Liverpool for more than 25 years. It did so by taking its traditional Italian-American roots (Grandma's kitchen) and stretching them out with modern innovation and signature twists. And Santangelo's is a 5-time winner of Syracuse's annual Meatball Madness contest.

After that, at night I had one interesting dream: I am standing naked in the surgeon's office. My cock is erect. The erection is so strong that the foreskin almost completely exposed my head. The head of the penis is large and filling, at its end a drop of lubricant oozes.
