Torin is a good brand name though this model is steel and will be heaver than the aluminum Arcan. If I had to chose I'd go with the Torin brand.

I have the Arcan and its solid. Lighter is better, much easier to carry around if need be. I use it on an SUV and the maximum height of 18" or so is fine (compared to Torin which is 24").Arcan:

I bought a Torin floor jack in the early s from Costco (came with two bonus jack stands). (Don't remember the exact model, but it was black, had the foot pedal quick-lift feature, and had enough lift for a 4x4.) After a few years and occasional use (and being stored in the dry), it started sagging under load. I didn't try replacing the seals, just gave it away on Freecycle. It weighed a lot (nearly 80 pounds), which made it hard to move around on dirt or gravel surfaces. I'd look for a lighter weight jack if I was shopping for one today, so of the two, I'd pick the Arcan.

Mine is Black Jack Tons aluminum and Steel, brought it from Costco when it was $99 few years a go. It looks similar to Arcan. I say lighter is much better when you store it in basement. If you leave it in shed, it can get stolen. Mine is heavy even if its 59 lbs, imagine how much 79 lb could do on you back stability. I would go for Arcan.
Arcan won't probably move freely as Torin on wheel design, but then again you don't want jack slipping and sliding.

I bought the Torin last year. I was planning on getting a pick up in the future, but for now I am using it on my IS It is rock solid and doesn't complain about lifting the car's weight like my 10 year old Mastercraft ton jack does. Yeah it is heavy and bringing it out from the basement twice a year isn't necessarily fun, but it isn't too bad. Just think of it as getting your deadlifts in for the day

all these jacks are made by Torin blackjack, Arcan, BigRedetc.
They all seem to be good quality. Dont stress on name brand too much. The lower profile jack will work better for sports cars or car with lower spoiler kits that will come into contact with lifting arm potentially cracking the plastic.
I have had my Torin branded Costco jack for almost 20 years. Still working great.

Alum & steel v. all-steel is where the difference comes from. However what are you lifting with it? If it's just a regular car you can even use a ton all-alum jack and be perfectly fine and have it be quite lightweight. Even then I've used a ton all-alum low-profile jack to lift a Q5 before, though not very high--it's enough to lift a corner and change a wheel but that's about it and I wouldn't use it for that on a frequent basis.
As the poster above says, most of these China-made jacks are all made in the same places regardless of brand. All are the same or clones of each other being made in similar facilities in China. Brand shouldn't matter too much but if you want lightweight you'll want to go with something that's either alum or alum & steel mix. All-steel is perhaps more "heavy duty" but if you're just a "home user" that will use it occasionally I see no reason to buy all-steel.
