Power Adventure

Join Best on Key West for a day of family fun and excitement aboard our 60-foot catamaran. The adventure begins with a 10 a.m. departure to set sail for Florida’s beautiful coral reef. On the way you can enjoy our delectable continental breakfast that features homemade pastries and eggs as well as assorted juices.

A Day Full of Excitement and Activities

After breakfast, our expert crew members will instruct you on the use of the snorkeling equipment as well as demonstrate the proper techniques for snorkeling. All of our equipment is fully sanitized for your health and safety, and we encourage our passengers to ask questions or voice concerns at this time for the benefit of all of our snorkelers.

Upon arrival at the reef, you’ll have a full hour of snorkeling free time to explore the majestic and mysterious coral reef. This complex ecosystem is home to millions of fish and marine plants that thrive in the crystal blue waters surrounding the Florida Keys. The reefs are a must-see for snorkelers of all ages and abilities as it is truly a sight you’ll never forget.

Once snorkeling has concluded, we’ll sail for the beautiful backcountry for an exclusive afternoon of dining and watersport activities. During this time you can refuel thanks to our catering company -- the favorite of all the locals -- and the extensive buffet they provide. Lunch includes peel-and-eat shrimp, fried chicken, assorted Boar’s Head meat and cheeses, assorted breads and condiments, assorted side salads, fresh fruit and the tastiest chocolate chip cookies.

While anchored in the backcountry, we provide a watersport bonanza that will wear you out. Watersports include jet skiing, parasailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, water trampolines, giant waterslides and banana boat rides. This is a great family activity for children and adults of all ages that lasts approximately 2 ½ hours.

For the adults on our tour who may want to end their watersport activities early (and who have a valid photo I.D.), we provide complimentary beer and wine which is also available on the return sail. We invite our passengers to relax in the afternoon sun during the peaceful trip back to Key West, and our tour concludes at 4 p.m.

Key West Original Watersports Adventure with Breakfast, Lunch & Drinks

The answers provided below are based on answers previously given to customers' questions.

Will I get seasick on Key West Original Watersports Adventure: Full-Day Snorkel, Jet Ski, Parasail, Banana Boat (breakfast, lunch & drinks included)?

If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.

Who is allowed to drive a jet ski in Florida?

Under Florida law, participating in any commercial jet ski tour is considered to be renting a personal watercraft (jet ski). Most people who were born on or before January 1, 1988, are allowed to rent and operate a jet ski in Florida waters without any special training or license.

If you were born after January 1, 1988, and need a Florida Boating Safety Identification Card, it is easy to get one with an online course and test at Boat-ed.com. You can take the course and get your temporary Certificate of Completion ahead of time to save time on the day of your tour. Simply bring your Certificate of Completion and a valid photo ID with you on the day of your tour. If you need to take the test before your Key West Original Watersports Adventure with Breakfast, Lunch & Drinks, please arrive at the departure point 1 hour early. All drivers must be sure to bring a valid photo ID.

The Personal Watercraft Regulations from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission state that:

  • A person (over 14 years old) who was born on or after January 1, 1988, must have in their possession a valid photo ID and a boating safety identification card or a temporary certificate issued by the commission in order to operate any vessel powered by a motor of 10 horsepower or greater. Boating safety cards issued by other states are acceptable.
  • A person must be at least 18 years of age to rent a personal watercraft in Florida.
  • It is unlawful for a person to knowingly allow a person under 18 years of age to operate a rented personal watercraft (a second-degree misdemeanor).
  • A person who was born on or after January 1, 1988, and is at least 18 years old may operate a rented personal watercraft if they are accompanied by a person who was born before January 1, 1988, OR a person who is at least 18 years old and has a Boating Safety Identification Card. The accompanying person must be “attendant to the operation of the vessel and responsible for the safe operation of the vessel and for any violation that occurs during the operation of the vessel.”

What is the age limit for snorkeling?

There are no legal age limits for snorkeling. We have found that age 5 or 6 is a good age to learn the basics of snorkeling, however, it’s entirely up to individuals to make the best choice for their family.

Is there an age requirement for parasailing?

Yes, the minimum age to parasail is 6 years old. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver prior to boarding the vessel. At Cool Key West safety is our number one priority. The minimum weight required for parasailing is roughly 90 pounds. If the flyer is less than 90 pounds, they will simply fly tandem with someone not to exceed roughly 450 pounds combined weight. Weight requirements may differ due to wind conditions.

I've never snorkeled before, will I be OK?

First-time snorkelers can be assured of one-on-one instruction and assistance. We find introducing folks to our world very rewarding!

How old do I have to be to drive a jet ski by myself?

You must be at least 18 years old to operate a rented jet ski in Florida waters. If you were born on or after January 1, 1988, you must have in your possession a Florida Boating Safety Identification Card (or a Boating Safety Identification Card from another state) along with a valid photo ID to drive a rental jet ski by yourself.

If you need a Florida Boating Safety Identification Card, it is easy to get one with an online course and test.

How high is the parasailing in Key West?

That is the legal amount allotted due to proximity to the airport is 300 – 350 ft.

Do you have to know how to swim in order to parasail?

Although it is best for you to be comfortable in the water, you do not have to know how to swim. Each guest is provided with a buoyancy compensator (BC) that will assist with flotation.

Can we use our own snorkeling gear?

The snorkel gear we use on Cool Key West tours is high quality and for your protection, the equipment is sanitized after each use. However, if you feel more comfortable using your own snorkeling equipment, feel free to bring it on the tour. Please note, there is no discount for providing your own equipment and we can’t be responsible for any lost or damaged items.

Can I save time at check-in by doing the safety test online?

Yes! You can save 30 minutes at check-in by doing the safety test online at Boat-ed.com. Just be sure to bring confirmation that you have passed the test.

This course is for Florida residents and visitors who do not already possess a valid boating education certificate but who wish to operate a jet ski on Florida waters.

Can I go snorkeling if I cannot swim?

Yes, this is possible, as long as you are comfortable going into the water. All Cool Key West snorkeling tours adhere to strict safety regulations and have been designed to be enjoyed by all.

Your safety is our #1 priority, which is why:

  1. You will be wearing a flotation device at all times.
  2. On many tours, there is a stairway from the boat into the water so you won’t have to “jump” in!
  3. There are trained staff in the water and watching from the boat at all times.

For these reasons, we believe that even non-swimmers can have a wonderful time on our snorkeling trips, however, the final judgment call is yours to make. Please note we do not give refunds if you decide not to snorkel on the trip.

Can anyone ride a jet ski on the Key West Original Watersports Adventure: Full-Day Snorkel, Jet Ski, Parasail, Banana Boat (breakfast, lunch & drinks included)?

Almost anyone can go on a jet ski as a driver or passenger. The only exceptions are made out of concern for the health and safety of our guests. Those who CANNOT participate in jet skiing include anyone who is pregnant, under the influence of alcohol or drugs or affected by any medical condition that may put them at risk when operating or riding a motorized craft on the open water.

If all guests on a single jet ski were born on or after January 1, 1988, at least one guest must have a boater safety license. This should be obtained in advance at Boat-ed.com.

We are committed to providing the best Key West jet ski experience and the most fun in the safest way possible and appreciate your respect for our rules as well as for the Florida regulations for boating and water safety.

Are there weight restrictions for jet skis?

Yes, the maximum combined weight on a jet ski is 450 lbs.

Are there any weight restrictions for parasailing?

Minimum weight to fly alone is 90 lbs; not exceeding 450 lbs in tandem or triple (the captain may change these safety restrictions due to weather conditions).

Reviews

Average 4.84 out of 5 stars based on 199 verified reviews from Cool Key West and TripAdvisor

This trip was everything I'd hoped for. I took my boyfriend for his birthday and everything went so beautifully. The captain so nice and personable. The parasailing, banana boating, and jet skiing were amazing. I can't remember the crews name but everyone was super informative and friendly. My only complaint would be that the forum before booking asks that you write food preferences where needed, to which I wrote that I'm vegan. The a day or two prior to the trip I received an email informing ppl with dietary preferences to bring their own food, which sucked because I already drove down & didn't have time to shop for my own food. All I could eat were the tiny cups of fruit lol. Nonetheless this trip was all about my boyfriend & he loved the experience, so 5 stars all around if you have an open diet. Would recommend to all tho <3

We had a great time! Best part of our trip. Highly recommend! Staff was super nice. Alcohol served was very limited, only drawback. A margarita would have been nice. They only had Landshark beer and red and white wine. Wine is just kind of unfitting for a day playing in the sun.

Wow, we come to Key West at least twice a year - how we never did this I don't know but we will be doing this probably every time now. The staff (Capt. Nick, Nick, Dom) were AMAZING, really made the trip so much more fun. Snorkeling-awesome, Parasailing-spectacular, Jet Skiing-always fun, hanging out in the water-hello, Dom brought us drinks while we relaxed!!! Food was perfect for being out on the water. All-in-all, one of the very best activities I've ever done in Key West and the value cannot be beat!

Great day with even greater crew! Thaks

Loved every minute! Lunch was amazing. Our crew was great. My husband loved the parasail, while my son went nuts over jet skiing. Can’t recommend highly enough.

We had so much fun! Full day of adventures. Food was delicious, crew was very nice. What a fun day! Definitely will recommend!

The staff/ instructors were very fun & informative. Safety is a huge priority of theirs. Well worth the money. Felt like a steal. My only change would be the music on the boat. Needs more hip hop rap and up beat. Thanks for make my vacation a blast.

Best excursion my group did the whole week we were in Key West!! I highly recommend doing this and the crew were all so great.

Awesome time with the family! Kids loved it! Staff was great!

This excursion is well organized and the staff was funny and fun! So many fun experiences wrapped up in one day. I would highly recommend!

Enjoy our day-long tour on one of Sebago’s luxurious 60′ catamarans. Perfect for families or large groups with something for everyone. Full day of action in the tropical waters with snorkeling, Jet Skis, parasailing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, and other water toys all included in the price. So is your breakfast, lunch, snacks, and all beverages. No extra charges! Nobody does it better than Sebago.

Departing from Key West’s Historic Seaport, you set out with sails unfurled, to your first destination – snorkeling the coral reef. During the sail, enjoy a delicious continental breakfast, prepared fresh in Sebago’s own catering kitchen.

Never experienced the thrill of snorkeling? No worries. Sebago provides all the equipment and professional instruction. Our coral reef, even though it’s 7 miles from land, is in sheltered, shallow waters perfect for snorkeling.

Enjoy the underwater world for about an hour taking in the beautiful corals and colorful fish. If you are unfamiliar with our many reef inhabitants, ask our knowledgeable crew and take a look at the fish identification card we carry on board. There is so much to see and learn!

After exploring the reef, there is easy access back aboard with the Stairway to the Sea. Wash off the salt with our fresh water rinse. Spread out, bask in the Caribbean sun or grab a seat in the shade under our covered deck.

Then get ready for your next destination – Sebago’s secluded water park with all the best toys. During the hour-long sail, feast on the lunch. Sebago is famous for its delectable spread prepared daily by our own kitchen. While dishes can vary, a typical lunch includes peel-and-eat shrimp, fried chicken, assorted Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, breads, side salads, fresh fruit and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.

So Many Activities To Choose From… So Much Fun…

We spend almost 3 hours at Sebago’s secluded water park so everyone gets a turn on the toys of their choice. Your ship remains docked at the floating playground which means you can relax onboard and enjoy the food and drink or take breaks while other family members play in the water.

No experience necessary. Our state-of-the-art boats feature extended platforms which allow gentle, dry takeoffs and landings. Key West parasailing is awesome – on a clear day view the entire island and surrounding water for up to 12 miles. Wonder at the quiet stillness of floating 300 feet up in the sky. Scan the crystal clear waters for the abundant sea life below including dolphins, turtles, fish and rays. 6-8 minutes air time

Time for an exhilarating ride on our Jetskis. Whether you are a pro or a newbie, Key West Jet Skis are a blast! Take your own out or share the excitement with another person on board. Our experienced crew will provide you with Jet Ski instructions and answer all your questions before you start zipping around the Caribbean’s turquoise waters.

Its so simple and yet so much fun. Our banana boat holds up to 4 people and can be enjoyed by the whole family. Just let our crew know how fast you want to go, then let the thrills begin.

Guaranteed to make you giggle and feel like a kid again. Fun for the whole family on our jumbo WaterMat, Water Trampoline and Water Slide. There is over 240 square feet of fun on the Water Mat - walk on water, slip and slide, run and jump! Take a break from the toys - grab a noodle float and play/relax in the warm sea.

Serenity now. After hours of activity, slow down, refresh, and soak in the beauty that surrounds you with a kayak or paddle board. Key West's calm waters are perfectly suited for both. Kayaks hold 2 people - you can explore on your own or share with a companion. Not sure how to paddle a kayak or stand up on a board? Our crew will answer all your questions. Now start paddling!

Fun times on Fury Watersports

Oct 2021

The selection of different activities was fun. My wife and I had a great time trying a couple new things such as parasailing, jet skiing, and a couple others. The only bad thing was on the way out to the snorkeling place, the waves got ruff and I got sick. but not the companies fault. other than that everything was great including the weather and having fun out on the water

October Trip !

Definitely worth every penny. The staff made it such a relaxing and fun experience. They take care of everything you could possibly need. Thankfully the weather was beautiful, the location for snorkeling was beautiful, the water was beautiful. ..overall beautiful. This was a great trip for couples and families! Started out by sailing to the reef for snorkeling, then made our way over to where they offered jet skiing (they take safety very seriously but still allowed everyone free run on the skis), kayaking, a water trampoline and even parasailing !! If you find your way to the keys please do yourself a favor and book with them!

Book with Sebago, you won't be disappointed

Aug 2021 • Family

From start to finish it was a great adventure. The crew was amazing, personable, experienced, and accommodating. Fun, reasonably priced, and an experience I won't forget. Do them and yourself a favor, and book an adventure with Sebago.

Private charter on Appledore Star

Aug 2021 • Friends

Sebago provided a wonderful private charter aboard their beautiful 63' schooner Appledore Star. Captain Russ and his crew Maddie and Jade provided a scrumptious lunch, sangria and champagne. Played in the water then raised the sails for us to enjoy the beautiful blue waters surrounding Key West. Thanks for such a memorable day! Fabulous experience. Highly recommend Sebago to plan a beautiful water experience!

Take Dramamine before you go…

We had a ton of fun on this adventure after a rough start. The boat is a little uncomfortable with more than 60 people and not nearly that many chairs. It was hot with poor air movement and a lot of people got sick on the way out. The reef for snorkeling is gorgeous. It was the best one we saw in the keys. The floating fun barge was a little underwhelming, but the banana boat rides, unlimited JetSki availability, and the parasailing made up for it. The guys that were working were super helpful and very sympathetic as we were vomiting over the side of the boat 🤢 Once we got to the barge, everyone felt a lot better and we finished the day strong. Parasailing was the highlight.

Good Time Overall with a Few Things Consider

Aug 2021

Pros
-Parasailing was awesome and the best part of the adventure.
-Jet skis were fun although there is some waiting in line depending on how many folks are on board.
-The crew was friendly and helpful. They seemed genuinely concerned with folks
having a good time.
-The food was good. We were pleasantly surprised by the fried chicken.
Cons
-The snorkeling is not great! It's a long boat ride out to a spot where we didn't see much. Not the fault of the crew obviously, but the wind and tides cut our snorkeling short. We never felt unsafe, but the swim back to the boat was difficult. Not sure there's much to see there even on a good day.
-The boat was a little overcrowded. Not enough seats for everyone during the times when everyone was required to be down in the seating area. Also makes for longer waits for jet skis.
Summary and Advice
-I recommend this adventure but would choose a package without the snorkeling next time. For snorkeling, we liked John Pennekamp State Park adventure in Key Largo.
-Think twice before taking Grandma and younger kids on this trip. There was a big family on our adventure with older and younger family members who did not participate in the activities. For them it was just a lot of sitting, and it's hot even if you're below deck out of the direct sun.

Really dangerous

Jun 2021 • Family

It was too deep to swim for only four people who paid for only one entered the water very dangerous, she was carrying a 3-year-old girl, obviously she was not going to get into any of that, on the jet skis only one person could ride they also have rules for riding the jet skis they have some old life jackets NOTICE: I recommend that you choose this package they know how to swim

My daughter ( born in 1992) passed a boating exam in Maryland. Will this work for the jet ski there?

I would like to know if we are 14 adults 4 kids and 2 infants. Can we fit here? I do not understand why in the reviews people said they share the catamaran with 50 people.

I think we had between 60 and 70 guests plus 4 crew. A group of 20 will work fine. I would call them directly and let them know. Only problem could be that such a large group may need to split up for the parasailing.
