Gallien-Krueger

With a wide array of bass cabinets in their catalogue too, Gallien Krueger’s range is suitable for many different musical applications. They're well-regarded within the rock and funk circles, notorious for providing plenty of power, punch and top-class clarity.

Many famous players are on Gallien Krueger’s roster, including Bryan Beller (The Aristocrats), Duff McKagan (Guns ‘N’ Roses), and Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers).

History of Gallien Krueger

Founded in 1968 by Robert Gallien and Richard Krueger, the company found its feet with an early guitar amplifier design, built by Robert Gallien himself. Taking this early prototype to a local music store, Gallien was praised for his forward-thinking approach to its construction, and even a young Carlos Santana caught on. Eventually using this amp at Woodstock, the rest is history - as they say!

Later focusing on bass amplifiers exclusively, Gallien Krueger not only popularised the solid-state bass amplifier, but also spearheaded other designs that have been since adopted by many of the company’s contemporaries.

For example, in 1981 Gallien Krueger released the GK 200RB, the first rack-mountable instrument amplifier ever made. Setting the trend for much of the 80s, two years later the GK 250ML was launched, a 100W stereo amp and effects unit that fit in an ultra-portable  “lunchbox” enclosure. With most bass amp heads built to this format today, Gallien Krueger truly set the standard.

The Gallien Krueger Range

MB Series

The Gallien Krueger lineup is led by their MB bass head and combo range. Offering optimal tonal fidelity and power, the solid-state MB200, 500 and 800 heads are stupendously portable, able to fit within any standard gig bag.

Very modestly priced, these amplifiers are considered an industry standard by many, acclaimed for their tonal versatility and reliability. Lightweight and strong with their Aluminium chassis’, the tube-powered MB Fusion 500 and 800 heads in particular are very well-protected. If you’re a player after a slightly more traditional sound with some pure analogue power, these might suit you even better!

RB Series

If you wish to attain something a little more high-end, the Gallien Krueger RB series of bass heads will satisfy even more on the tonal front. Also solid-state like most of the MB series, these bass heads are hugely powerful, ranging from between 540W to over 1000W of sheer, unbridled headroom across the 3 available models.

As the longest-standing range in the Gallien Krueger catalogue, over 30 years of experience has gone into the RB series. With integrated G.I.V.E. (Gate Induced Valve Effect) technology, these amplifiers deliver a very warm low-end with all of the present mid-range and top-end fidelity that fans adore. The renowned voicing filters and versatile EQ controls ensure that you are always able to find the perfect sound, no matter the venue or gig.

The Industry Standard

Like the original hardware, the Gallien‑Krueger 800RB Bass Amp plug‑in is a Swiss Army Knife of bass tone. GK's patented voicing filters offer instant access to classic EQ profiles in the low, mid, and high frequencies, and its 4‑band active EQ lets you dial in your ideal tone with precision and ease no matter what type of bass you play.

Two is Better Than One

The Gallien‑Krueger 800RB plug‑in emulates the original hardware’s bi‑amplified architecture, providing two different power amps ‑ one for the lows and one for the highs. An adjustable crossover allows you to control which frequencies go to which power amp, and each has a master volume knob, making it easy to dial in just the right amount of bass or bite.

Unison Technology for Apollo Interfaces

Harnessing UA’s groundbreaking Unison technology, the Gallien‑Krueger 800RB Bass Amplifier plug‑in gives you the impedance, gain staging, and circuit behaviors that have contributed to making this iconic tone machine one of the most recorded bass amps in history. Just drop the plug-in into the dedicated “UNISON+” insert in UA audio interface Console software.

GK FX Rack

The Gallien‑Krueger 800RB plug-in features tools that greatly add to its versatility when tracking bass guitar. The FX Rack features an onboard noise gate, Power Soak, and EQ filter controls, allowing you to put the finishing touches ‑ before or after mixdown ‑ on your tones. But it’s the 800RB plug‑in’s 64 Recording Chain presets that give you the ultimate in flexibility. These presets give you endless combinations of vintage mics, cabinets, and outboard gear ‑ like having an engineer patching you through various chains.

Gallien-Krueger

Gallien-Krueger, also referred to as 'GK' (as in their logo), is a manufacturer of bass amplifiers and speaker cabinets . The company is based in Stockton, California, and was founded in 1968.

History[edit]

Robert Gallien started his company, then named GMT, from his garage in 1968 in San Jose, California, while working as an engineer for Hewlett-Packard.[1] His first amps were the GMT 226A and 226B (named after their power output) and were unconventional in their design because they were built around transistors instead of tubes. Carlos Santana was one of the first to buy a GMT 226A (serial #6)[2] and it can be clearly seen in the Woodstock movie.

In the early 1970s Bob Gallien teamed up with fellow HP engineer Rich Krueger and the company was renamed from GMT (Gallien-Martin-Taylor) to Gallien-Krueger. Although Rich Krueger is no longer involved in the company it has retained his name. In 1983 Gallien-Krueger launched the bass amplifier that would define the future of the company, the 800RB.[3] The GK sound is defined by a dry "growl" and a quick reaction from the class H power amplifier. GK engineered the MB200, which was the smallest and lightest 200W bass amp available when it launched, and the 250BL, the first channel-switching bass amp.[2]

The company stopped producing electric guitar amplifiers in the early 1990s but continues to make bass amplifiers and bass cabinets. In November, 2013, the company paid a fine to the FCC for producing non-compliant digital radio products.[4]

Artists using GK equipment include Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Velvet Revolver's Duff McKagan, Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith, Ted Dwane from the Mumford and Sons, and others.[5]

Gallien-Krueger Fusion 500S 500W Tube Hybrid Bass Amp Head Black

Description

The Gallien-Krueger Fusion 500S 500W tube-hybrid bass amp head is part of the Fusion S Series, which are GK’s Class D Model heads with a tube preamp. The rich warmth of tubes combined with the quick, punchy power section that GK bass amps are known for is an experience like no other. These high-powered heads incorporate three 12AX7 tubes in the preamp, including one dedicated to the overdrive channel, making it GK’s first ever tube driven overdrive channel. Illuminated knobs add an extra level of sophistication and design by not only making it easier to dial in tone on stage and but adding a beautiful stage presence as well. Each illuminated knob is also push-activated, with additional voicing filters and tonal characteristics built in. Like the Legacy Series, the Fusion S series uses a unique interconnection system that eliminates problems that can develop over time from constant vibration and temperature extremes that gear is subjected to with heavy use. Using circuit boards with gold-plated connectors, rather than cables with standard tin connectors, this type of construction delivers a more pure, reliable sound. Features include GK's classic 4 band tube driven EQ, tube Overdrive complete with tone shaping, additional push button voicing filters such as Bump, Contour, and Presence, Balanced DI with Pre and Post EQ, an effects loop, aux and headphone connections, and load capacity selection, to deliver optimum power into 2, 2.7, 4 and 8-ohm cabinet configurations.

A luxurious, pink vagina, which I wanted: However, it was impolite to look at the girl for a long time and, trying to distract himself from the viscous sucking feeling in the lower abdomen, the doctor took bag a pre-prepared heating pad, tightly filled with water and screwed a long rubber hose to it. Then he wiped off the rectal tip with a napkin and smeared it heavily with petroleum jelly.

- Well, are you ready. Can I start. "He asked.
