Customer Reviews
CBD
Excellent information on the use of CBD in managing arthritis pain. Since being diagnosed with osteoarthritis over 12 years ago I have used several CBD products and have found the ones that used hemp were not as effective as those from cannabis. Those with a very small amount of THC worked even better. Friends of mine who tried multiple products had similar results. As an arthritis survivor going on 5 years with no joint pain and greatly increased joint mobility I look forward to future episodes where my experiences might help others.
Eating inflammatory foods = Inflammation in the body
Telling people they should eat whole grains and healthy fats like “vegetable oil”. Both have been scientifically proven to increase inflammation in the body. As for episode 3, you have misguided so many. Biased info, no better than a fraud scientist.
Stay away from processed foods & sugars. Eat a nutrient rich diet with healthy fats like avocado oil, avocados, nuts & seeds, low sugar organic fruits, organic vegetables and organic, pasture raised, grass fed eggs, chicken and meat and please eat organ meats.
Be your own advocate and do your do diligence when it comes to research and the science. Lots of biased information. Educate yourself on what types of studies like epidemiology, controlled, survey, etc. and who has funded the study. They are not the same.
Some decent, but misleading information
The episode on trendy diets has some misleading information. The doctor they interview slams many diets and even goes so far as to call Keto a pro-inflammatory diet without looking at the nuances. I’m not overweight, but I went Paleo originally and then Keto due to my Ankylosing Spondylitis, and on Keto I was in complete remission. My blood glucose, cholesterol, and all other levels in bloodwork are extremely healthy. Despite my chronic illness, on labs, I look healthier than anyone else in my family.
Certain types of inflammatory arthritis are linked with bacterial dysbiosis, and excessive carbohydrate intake exacerbates that issue by feeding pathogenic bacteria that can cause cross reactivity with your immune system. Gluten and refined sugars are highly inflammatory in nature (even without feeding bad bacteria) and cutting back will reduce your inflammation, not increase it. Done appropriately, you can still obtain plenty of nutrition (vitamins, minerals, fiber) from a ketogenic or paleo diet because you can still eat plenty of high fiber veggies. Done poorly (think mountains of bacon on keto), and yes, it can be bad. As always, a diet change should be run by your doctor and monitored. The information presented in that episode did nothing but lambast diets that have helped thousands with inflammatory arthritis.
