Have you ever wondered which Myers-Briggs type each anime character has? You’re not alone! I’ve been asked this question many times and over the last few years as I’ve discovered the beauty and drama of anime, I’ve even wondered myself! As a result of my newfound interest, I decided I’d write up an article that details which of the 16 personalities each anime character fits into. If you have any alternative suggestions be sure to let me know in the comments!
Ready to find out which anime character has your personality type? Let’s get started and find out!
Disclaimer: As an MBTI® practitioner, I can’t really sit down and walk through the Myers-Briggs® questionnaire and assessment session with any of these characters. Typing fictional characters always relies on a lot of very careful guesswork, but it’s never 100%. If you have an alternative suggestion be sure to let me know in the comments!
For more visual types, we also made a video with this information below:

Find Out Which Anime Character Has Your Myers-Briggs® Personality Type
ENFP – Kaori Miyazono from Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April)
“If you can’t move with your hands then play with your feet! If you don’t have enough fingers, then use your nose as well. Whether you’re sad, you’re a mess, or you’ve hit rock bottom, you still have to play. That’s how people like us survive.” – Kaori Miyazono
Free-spirited and innovative, Kaori Miyazono from “Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso” captures many of the strengths of the ENFP type. Her free-spirited, rule-breaking musical style infuriates judges but also captures the admiration of audiences. In typical intuitive fashion, Kaori often skips over the details or historical interpretations of a score to focus on the overall theme/personal impression she wants to give. She doesn’t let anyone push her around and has the distinct individualistic nature of the ENFP. Her creativity, emotional authenticity, and energetic warmth make her a distinctive ENFP character.

ENTP – Edward Elric, FullMetal Alchemist
“There’s no such thing as a painless lesson, they just don’t exist. Sacrifices are necessary, you can’t gain something without losing something first… Although if you can endure that pain and walk away from it, you’ll find that you now have a heart strong enough to overcome any obstacle… Yeah… A Fullmetal Heart.” – Edward Elric, Fullmetal Alchemist
Rebellious and innovative, Edward Elric captures the strong-willed, perceptive nature of the ENTP. He can quickly see possibilities in any situation and shows obvious excitement when it comes to concepts, theories, challenges, and difficulties. His creative, clever nature exemplifies his use of Extraverted Intuition and Introverted Thinking. He knows how to bend the rules at precisely the right time and his sharp, irreverent sense of humor is also something that most ENTPs will relate to.

Other ENTP Anime Characters: Mei Hatsume (My Hero Academia), Lloyd Asplund (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion), Ryuk (Death Note). Okabe Rintarou (Steins;Gate), Bulma (Dragon Ball), Konata Izumi (Lucky Star), Hange Zoe (Attack on Titan).
INFP – Ken Kaneki, Tokyo Ghoul
“I’m not the protagonist of a novel or anything. I’m just a college student who likes to read, like you could find anywhere. But…if for argument’s sake, you were to write a story with me in the lead role, it would certainly be a tragedy.” – Ken Kaneki, Tokyo Ghoul
Like many INFP anime characters, Ken Kaneki wants to stay true to himself. His greatest fear is losing his individuality and going against his moral code. While all personality types can relate to this to a certain extent, none can relate quite as strongly as the INFP (or ISFP). INFPs crave authenticity and personal freedom in every aspect of their lives. They never want to bend or break due to outside pressures, and this internal struggle is what burdens Ken Kaneki throughout most of Tokyo Ghoul. Gentle, shy, and altruistic, he does whatever he can to protect those close to him – even putting himself in grave danger for their sake. His soul-searching, deep nature embodies the ethereal, morally-conscious nature of the INFP.
Other INFP Anime Characters: Tamaki Amajiki (My Hero Academia), Eric Alphonse (FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), Nagato (Naruto), Crona (Soul Eater), Rakka (Haibane Renmei), Rinko Yamato (Ore Monogatari!), Shinichi Izumi (Parasyte).

INTP – L Lawliet, Death Note
“It’s not a sense of justice. Figuring out difficult cases is my hobby. If you measured good and evil deeds by current laws, I would be responsible for many crimes. The same way you all like to solve mysteries and riddles, or clear video games more quickly. For me too, it’s simply prolonging something I enjoy doing. That’s why I only take on cases that pique my interest. It’s not justice at all. And if it means being able to clear a case, I don’t play fair, I’m a dishonest, cheating human being who hates losing.”– L Lawliet
Highly intelligent yet often underestimated, L captures the ingenious but often messy nature of the INTP personality type. People tend to underestimate him due to his disheveled appearance and lack of tact, but his analytical abilities and strong powers of deduction are astounding. In typical INTP fashion, L has a dry, clever sense of humor and an ability to connect the dots in complex situations. He’s driven by a desire to understand and solve mysteries, and many INTPs will relate to this hunger for discovery and truth.
Other INTP Characters: Tsuyu Asui “Froppy” (My Hero Academia), Ranpo Edogawa (Bungou Stray Dogs), Shiro (No Game No Life), Ginko (Mushishi), Kusuo Saiki (The Disastrous Life of Saiki K), Pieck Finger (Attack on Titan).

ENFJ – Tanjiro Kamado, Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)
“To dispel the regrets of those killed, to stop anymore victims from appearing, I will relentlessly wield my blade against the Demons, and that’s a fact. But I will not trample on the pains of being a Demon. Nor on those who regret their own actions. Because demons were humans. Because they were humans like me.” – Tanjiro Kamado
Focused and deeply compassionate, Tanjiro is one of the best examples I’ve ever seen of a truly healthy ENFJ. He is driven by his need to protect his sister, and in fact is willing to do anything, even die, to give her another chance at life. His distaste for rudeness and his empathy, even for demons, will be relatable to many ENFJs. He has a unique ability to break through the emotional walls people put up, even those of the silent and mysterious Kanao. His foresight in battle and his commitment to his long-term vision over the discomforts of the moment show his strength of Introverted Intuition (Ni).
Other ENFJ Anime Characters: All Might (My Hero Academia), Master Roshi (Dragon Ball Z), Whitebeard (One Piece), Daichi Sawamura (Haikyuu!!), Osono (Kiki’s Delivery Service), Tsubasa Ozora (Captain Tsubasa), Toru Oikawa (Haikyuu!!)

ENTJ – Light Yagami, Death Note
“You can’t win if you’re always on the defensive. To win, you have to attack!” – Light Yagami
Hard-working and strategic, Light Yagami embodies many of the strengths of the ENTJ. He has an uncanny knack for mapping out scenarios, problem-solving, and organizing every action around his main goal: A new world free from injustice and populated only by kind, honest individuals. In typical ENTJ fashion, Light breaks down information out loud, organizing logical information and strategizing as his main weapon. He’s gifted at seeing what’s going on behind the scenes in a situation and tries to anticipate the future before executing his plans. However, like most ENTJs, he can be overly impulsive and get himself into hot water as a result.
Other ENTJ Anime Characters: Yami Yugi (Yu-Gi-Oh!), Esdeath (Akame Ga Kill!), Medusa Gorgon (Soul Eater), Erwin Smith (Attack on Titan), Roy Mustang (FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood).
INFJ – Izuku Midoriya, My Hero Academia
“All men are not created equal. This was the reality I learned about society at the young age of four. And that was my first and last setback.” – Izuku Midoriya
Compassionate and visionary, Izuku Midoriya embodies the empathy and single-minded focus of the INFJ. Grappling with a disappointing childhood, Midoriya does whatever it takes to reach his goal: to become a real superhero in the manner of his hero, All Might. In typical INFJ fashion, Midoriya likes to analyze and theorize a great deal – even getting stuck in analysis when he should be taking action. His inner world is overflowing with possibilities, theories, and strategies. Yet outwardly he is driven by a need to protect and defend others. In chaotic situations, his first thought is to take care of the people who are vulnerable. He does this through his Intuition, anticipating what his enemies will do and how to respond accordingly. He often has an uncanny sense of how people will respond to situations and uses a combination of Introverted Intuition and his tertiary Introverted Thinking to logically map out how situations will unfold and what the most logical solution should be.
Other INFJ Anime Characters: Rayleigh (One Piece), Future Trunks (Dragon Ball Z), Tamayo (Kimetsu no Yaiba “Demon Slayer”), Kagaya Ubuyashiki (Kimetsu no Yaiba “Demon Slayer”), Itachi Uchiha (Naruto), Armin Arlert (Attack on Titan).

INTJ – Lelouch vi Britannia, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
“What do you do when there is an evil you cannot defeat by just means? Do you stain your hands with evil to destroy evil? Or do you remain steadfastly just and righteous even if it means surrendering to evil?” – Lelouch Vi Britannia
No one can equal the strategic capabilities of Lelouch vi Britannia. As Zero, Lelouch has a unique gift for anticipating his enemies’ moves and planning accordingly. He thinks far ahead into the distant future, creating long-term plans that will change the world. While on the outside he may look cold and scheming, on the inside he cares deeply about the welfare of the repressed and downtrodden. This is where his tertiary Introverted Feeling (Fi) really shows up in tandem with his Introverted Intuition (Ni). He doesn’t mind playing the bad guy if, at the end of his arduous plan, his values and beliefs are what he is ultimately defending.
Other INTJ Anime Characters: Kai Chisaki “Overhaul” (My Hero Academia), Akihiko Kayaba (Sword Art Online), Karma Akabane (Assassination Classroom), Ciel Phantomhive (Black Butler), Kyouko Kirigiri (Draganropa)

ESFP – Natsu Dragneel, Fairy Tail
“We don’t know what tomorrow holds! That’s why we can live for everything we’re worth today!” – Natsu Dragneel
Carefree and adventurous, Natsu captures the impulsive yet clever responsiveness of the ESFP personality type. He lives for today, making the most of each moment and enjoying the rush of a good fight. But he’s not all brawn and no brains (or heart). Natsu is fiercely loyal and will go down fighting for his friends, even if the odds are against him. He is able to think quickly and use his surroundings to circumvent obstacles when he’s facing an opponent in a precarious situation. His humor, liveliness, and loyalty to his friends are all hallmarks of the ESFP personality type.
Other ESFP Anime Characters: Seiya Kou (Sailor Moon), Mina Ashido (My Hero Academia), Present Mike (My Hero Academia), Yuga Aoyama (My Hero Academia), Zenitsu Agatsuma (Kimetsu no Yaiba “Demon Slayer”) Kallen Kozuki (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion), Sasha Braus (Attack on Titan)

ESTP – Katsuki Bakugo, My Hero Academia
“I break…and break myself…Even if it means twisting myself, I’ll win the way I choose.” – Katsuki Bakugo
Almost no anime character can match the competitive, aggressive spirit of Katsuki Bakugo. He’s a character of restless energy and nearly unbeatable tactical ability. Bakugo can think quickly in a battle, responding reflexively in ingenious ways to outsmart his opponents. In typical ESTP fashion, he commits to a challenge, using 110% of his energy to take down his enemies. While on the outside Bakugo might seem all brawn and no brains, when people see him in action they are surprised by how clever and ingenious his moves really are. He is extremely intelligent and perceptive, capable of not only strategic planning but quick improvising.

Other ESTP Anime Characters: Phinks (Hunter X Hunter), Nemuri Kayama “Midnight” (My Hero Academia), Inosuke Hashibira (Kimetsu no Yaiba “Demon Slayer”), Envy (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), Chuuya Nakahara (Bungou Stray Dogs).
ISFP – Shoto Todoroki, My Hero Academia
“If you wanna stop this, then stand up! Because I’ve got one thing to say to you! Never forget who you want to become!” – Shoto Todoroki
While many people type Todoroki as INTJ, I believe this largely comes down to false stereotypes about ISFPs rather than a true understanding of what ISFPs are actually like. Todoroki is extremely swift at responding to immediate crises’ whereas an INTJ would resemble Lelouch vi Britannia more, working in the background to create strategies and long-term plans. Todoroki tailors his life to his value system; everything he does must align with what he believes is personally right. He will even go so far as to lose an important fight if it means he’s adhering to his ethics. His integrity as well as his smooth reflexes on the battlefield remind us of how powerful Introverted Feeling and Extraverted Sensation really are when they are working together.
Other ISFP Anime Characters: Chizome Akaguro “Stain” (My Hero Academia), Eren Yeager (Attack on Titan), Yuichiro Hyakuya (Seraph of the End), Haruka Nanase (Free!), Ojira Mashirao (My Hero Academia).

ISTP – Shizuo Heiwajima, Durarara!!
“It’s not that I’m busy. I just don’t want to spend more than two and a half more minutes of my life with you!” – Shizuo Heiwajima
Powerful and no-nonsense, Shizuo Heiwajima fights with incredible strength and tactical prowess. In typical ISTP fashion, he stays aware of his surroundings, even using tools in his immediate vicinity to bring down his opponents. His communication is direct and logical – he sees no point in mincing words with his enemies. He also can troubleshoot quickly in crisis situations that would make many other types confused or overwhelmed.
Other ISTP Anime Characters: Shoto Aizawa (My Hero Academia), Kyoka Jirou “Earphone Jack” (My Hero Academia), Levi Ackerman (Attack on Titan), Saitama (One Punch Man), Shinya Kogami (Psycho-Pass), Ymir (Attack on Titan).

ESFJ – Shirley Fenette, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
“Ever since my memories have come back, I’ve been feeling so very afraid. A teacher who wasn’t a teacher. Friends who don’t have memories to share. Everyone… was just.. lying… It felt as though the whole world was spying on me. That’s the world you’ve been fighting for all by yourself, isn’t it? All alone. So that’s why I… why I wanted to be someone who would at least be truthful to you.” – Shirley Fenette, Code Geass
Caring, attentive, and people-oriented, Shirley Fenette captures the many strengths of the ESFJ personality type. She is always thinking of her friends and the people she loves, even if it puts her in harm’s way. She also seems to have a down-to-earth, practical outlook on life – often chiding Lelouch vi Britannia, who is much more risk-prone. At Ashford Academy, Shirley is often checking up on people to make sure that they are alright and is highly conscious of morale and what’s the appropriate or conscientious way to behave.
Other ESFJ Anime Characters: Sakura Haruno (Naruto: Shippenden), Maka Albarn (Soul Eater), Chi Chi (Dragon Ball Z), Leorio (Hunter X Hunter), Katara (Avatar: The Last Airbender), Rose (Fullmetal Alchemist).
ESTJ – Izumi Curtis, Fullmetal Alchemist
“When people ask, I usually say I’m a housewife, but I’m feeling a bit sassy today. So I have decided to shed that particular disguise….I AM AN ALCHEMIST!” – Izumi Curtis
Hard-working and pragmatic, Izumi Curtis captures the resourceful, driven nature of the ESTJ. She uses her immediate surroundings to her advantage in combat and wields weapons with remarkable proficiency. She knows how to take charge of chaotic situations, as evidenced when she shows up at Central and quickly takes charge of an overwhelming situation. Her practicality and strong leadership abilities are some of the greatest gifts ESTJs bring to the world.
Other ESTJ Anime Characters: Erza Scarlet (Fairy Tail), Takaya Abe (Big Windup!), Asuka Langley Sohryu (Evangelion), Sanemi Shinazugawa (Demon Slayer), Rudol Von Stroheim (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure), Tatsumaki (One Punch Man), Cornelia li Brittania (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion).
ISFJ – Rem from ReZero
“I love it when you stroke my hair. I feel as if we can understand each other through the contact between your hand and my hair. I love your voice. Just hearing you say one word makes my heart feel warmer. I love your eyes. Normally, they look stern, but when you’re being kind to someone, I love the way they soften. I love your fingers. For a boy, you have such lovely fingers. But when you clutch me, I know they are the strong, slender fingers of a man. I love the way you walk. When we walk together, I love the way you occasionally turn, to make sure I can keep up. I love the way you look when you sleep. You look unguarded, like an infant, and your eyelashes are on the long side. When I touch your cheek, you calm down…And when I playfully touch your lips, you don’t even notice…and it makes my heart ache terribly. I love you.” – Rem
Gentle and nurturing, Rem embodies the detail-oriented, loyal nature of the ISFJ. She uses her power to protect the ones she loves and care for them in tangible ways. She not only attacks, but heals, using her Water magic to defend the ones she loves. She will even die to protect those dearest to her. She proves her love through her action and behaviors, and sometimes she is too good-natured and kind for her own well-being.
Other ISFJ Anime Characters: Sophie Hatter (Howl’s Moving Castle), Mayuri Shiina (SteinsGate), Ryuji (Toradora), Krillin (Dragon Ball Z), Brock (Pokemon), Miroku (Inyuasha), Historia Reiss (Attack on Titan).

ISTJ – Tenya Iida, My Hero Academia
“Wanting to do it and being suitable for it are different issues.”– Tenya Iida
Detail-oriented and responsible, Tenya is one of my favorite characters in My Hero Academia because he always wants to do what is right. He may be a rule-follower, but he’s also willing to break the rules when it comes to protecting the legacy of the ones he loves most. He is deeply devoted as a friend and brother, and his discipline and hard-working nature make him a source of strength for his entire UA class. His detail-oriented perceptiveness enables him to notice when anything is out of synch or dangerous, and his pragmatic nature enables him to come up with strong plans of action when everyone else is panicking. His hunger for efficiency, his loyalty, and his attention to detail all make him a strong ISTJ character.
Other ISTJ Anime Charaters: Unalaq (Avatar: The Last Airbender), Tenzin (Avatar: The Legend of Korra), Boa (One Piece), Shikamaru (Naruto).

15 INFP Anime Characters We Absolutely Love
INFPs are the sweethearts of the MBTI typology. We love their kind heart and the time they have for those they love. If you are a fan of anime, you probably want to know more about the INFP anime characters. I had the same thought!
So, I have compiled a list of all the INFP anime characters I could find.
15 INFP Anime Characters Today
1. Armin Arlert (Attack on Titan)
If you have watched Attack on Titan, you have probably seen Armin Arlert. He is depicted as a loyal and selfless person who can do anything to help his friends.
As a child, Armin has been depicted as someone that is curious and wants to know how the world ticks. He also places emphasis on his passion and that clearly influences his career choices.
These are all clear signs that this anime character is an INFP.
2. Junpei Yoshino (JujutusuKaisen)
While this character doesn’t seem like your normal INFP, we believe he is. He is clearly an introvert who has a lot of negative feelings for people. But here’s why he feels this way.
He’s been bullied and mistreated all his life. Clearly, Junpei is going through the INFP dark side. Eventually, he was able to break free from this dark side.
If you are going through something similar, this character can serve as a source of inspiration.
3. Hinata (Naruto)
If you have watched Naruto, you probably have met Hinata. She is depicted as someone who is excessively kind and hates conflict.
Hinata is also very reserved and quiet. She sounds like an INFP with a type 9 personality. We also see some of the trauma that some INFPs go through as she faces some terrible childhood issues.
We have no doubt that she’s INFP.
Here is the best of Hinata and Naruto moments throughout this anime.
4. Killer (One Piece)
Killer shows some of the core qualities of an INFP. He is fairly reserved and is kind to those he cares about. He is also depicted to be quiet and polite.
While this is true, Killer also shows that INFPs can stand up for themselves when it matters the most.
5. Ken Kaneki (Tokyo Ghoul)
Ken Kaneki can be described as a textbook version of an INFP. He is clearly an introvert who loves reading books and spending time to himself.
He is described as gentle and modest throughout this anime series. If there is anyone who deserves to be on this list of INFP anime characters, it’s Ken Kaneki.
6. Aoba Hashibira (Demon Slayer)
Aoba is described as shy, reserved, and even sometimes timid. However, his brain is always buzzing with ideas and that clearly shows how intelligent he is.
INFPs are usually mistaken for being timid especially if they are conflict-averse. Aoba Hashibira fits into this picture perfectly.
7. Sousuke Mitsuba (Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun)
We see two different versions of Sousuke throughout the series. The first version looks like an immature INFP version. This is during his early childhood days.
Here, he is depicted as a bully and rude. He is also depicted as someone who really is not nice to others.
However, by the time Sousuke seems to reach middle school, he seems to have found himself. He is now calm and considerate. He also shows signs of the INFP dark side as he deals with slight depression and loneliness.
8. Baldr (Vinland Saga)
If you are a fan of Vinland Saga, you probably have heard of Baldr. He is prepared by his dad Floki to take over the leadership of his clan.
However, INFPs are not moved by the prestige of careers. They want to truly do things they love and are passionate about.
Thus, Baldr pushes against his father’s wishes throughout the series. However, the welfare of his people means a lot to him. This shows throughout this anime movie.
9. Adam West (Family Guy)
Adam West is a Mayor in Family Guy. He has the same intensity that is common among INFPs and INFJs. He is also described as soft-spoken and a bit crazy.
While we don’t subscribe to stereotypes, he sounds pretty much like an INFP to me.
Here is the best of Adam West.
10. Cordelia (Vinland Saga)
Cordelia is a shy and reserved woman at first at least. Throughout the anime series, Cordelia’s gender evolves and she eventually takes up Halvar which is a male name.
Cordelia is depicted as someone polite and well-mannered. We first thought she was an INFJ. However, she clearly is an intuitive person and shows that she has no issues ditching the norms and traditions.
11. Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
Are you a fan of sleeping beauty? If you are, then here’s a small gift. Sleeping beauty is an INFP. I think this is pretty obvious.
She’s reserved, quite emotional, and very spontaneous. She makes friends with the oddest characters and doesn’t seem to mind one bit.
We love sleeping beauty and we think she’s an INFP.
12. Crona (Soul Eater)
Crona is the perfect example of an INFP with a dark side problem. As described by Frank Stein in this series, she is clearly an introvert.
They are described as negative, pessimistic, and with an unbalanced state of mind. This is also what makes Crona quite dangerous throughout this anime series.
Crona fits perfectly into any list of INFP anime characters.
13. Isla (Plastic Memories)
Isla is an innocent and sweet person. She seems quite aloof when we first meet her. However, she clearly shows her emotional side as the movie goes on.
She is prone to jealousy and cares deeply about others. Clearly an INFP.
14. Rinko Yamato (Ore Monogatari)
Rinko Yamato is clearly an INFP. She likes the idea of romance and falls in love pretty early in the anime series.
She is depicted as kind and intelligent. While this is true, it is clear that she puts romance and her emotions first throughout the anime series.
She also shows streaks of jealousy and has some emotional issues. We strongly believe that Rinko Yamato is an INFP.
15. Chiyuki (Death Parade)
If you are a big fan of death parade, you’ve probably met Chiyuki. She is depicted as a kind and sweet person. However, as Chiyuki develops, she becomes more assertive and can now stand up for what she believes in.
We believe that Chiyuki is an assertive INFP. Everything points us in that direction.
So there you have it! That’s all the INFP anime characters we could find. If you have more suggestions, you can always tell us in the comment section.
How do you define a likable character anyway?
- Is it their cheerful personality?
- How nice, calm and generous they are?
- Do you measure it by character development?
- Or how much you can relate to them on a deep level?
I’d say all 4 of those traits, plus more.
Coming up with a list of “likable” characters is obviously subjective. Because everyone’s opinions are different.
But with that said – here’s my list of the best characters with likable personalities.
Most likable characters:
1. Glenn Radars (Rokudenashi)
Glenn Radars is a funny character. He’s smug, but in a sarcastic kind of way. And too laid back to get stressed over the tiniest things.
The type of guy most people would get irritated by, because of his tendency to antagonise or dismiss things.
I’m a like Glenn in this way, but more than that he has good qualities for an protagonist, without being too repetitive.
2. Yuuki Konno ()
Yuuki Konno is likable for different reasons than most characters. At least for me.
She’s suffering, and has suffered since birth because she’s born with a life threatening disease that’s killing her. The kind of disease that would push you to give up on life and more importantly, yourself.
But not Yuuki Konno.
- She’s strong.
- She’s a warrior at heart.
- She doesn’t quit.
- And she does whatever it takes to do everything she wants to do, to avoid regrets.
- And she doesn’t quit on the thought of being happy.
That’s what’s likable about Yuuki Konno.
Related: Will Virtual Reality Like In Sword Art Online Ever Be Possible?
3. Sae (Twin Star Exorcist)
Sae is the cutest little sister you’ve never had. Or the cutest kid you’ve never met.
You could say almost all kids are like that. And even likable in most cases. But really that’s just not true.
Sae’s intellect is surprising, with an optimism so high you’re put at ease just by being in her company.
4. Goku ()
The Goku I’m talking about is from the dubbed version of the Dragon Ball series. I’ve heard Goku is different otherwise.
Goku’s simplistic, pure of heart, never hesitates and has enough optimism to inspire anyone around him.
And let’s not forget about his insane work ethic. It’s no wonder people around the world are inspired by so much.
5. All Might ()
Admit it – if you’ve watched , it’s hard not to love All Might’s shenanigans. And in the dubbed version, he has one of the best voice actors in the business.
All Might has two sides to his character:
- The symbol of peace, power and justice.
- And the insecure, fragile and fearful version of his superhero persona.
The struggles between these 2 personalities is what makes All Might one of the best characters I’ve seen in years.
6. Kusuo Saiki (The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K)
Kusuo Saiki stepped in the industry in 2016. And has made a name for himself since.
This series will make you laugh so hard you’ll need to see a doctor by time you’re finished. But besides that, Kusuo’s laid back, introverted and “cool” personality is enough to keep anyone entertained.
He’s so relatable that it’s funny.
7. Bulat ()
Bulat’s the kind of guy who’ll give you a pat on the back when you’re having a sh** day. Because he’s too cheerful.
But how can you hate on a person like that? It’s hard to frown when someone’s genuinely smiling and giving off positive vibes.
8. Dragneel ()
One of the most likable characters from the universe.
Cheerful, simple, fun, and won’t stand for your BS If you threaten his family.
It’s no wonder he’s such a popular character among so many fans. He’s easy to understand, and never holds back his personal feelings.
9. Gray Fullbuster ()
Gray Fullbuster is cool, chilled, laid back and say what’s on his mind if it’s necessary. His personality basically reflects his own ice powers.
If you ask me he’s one of the more underrated characters in , usually overshadowed by the obvious characters like or .
10. Tami Nishimikado (Hanayamata)
I don’t think there’s a more serene, pure, thoughtful and calm character in the world of .
What’s not likable about someone like that? It’s part of her charm.
11. Ochako Uraraka ()
Ochako always has the best intentions when making decisions. And never only thinks of herself or how “she” feels when others are involved.
It’s not so much that she’s selfless, but more that she’s thoughtful, practical and a logical thinker.
And that smile of hers is priceless.
12. Soma Yukihira (Food Wars)
Creative, innovative, strategic and laid back. Soma is one of the most entertaining characters has blessed us with. Who’s always willing to do whatever it takes to win.
And even though he’s a protagonist, he’s not as bland or repetitive as most seen in Shounen shows these days.
13. Vegeta ()
Vegeta is one of my favorite characters for a reason. He’s the “underdog” of the DB series.
Vegeta’s backstory, character development and growth from to is the craziest sh** I’ve seen.
People complain about Vegeta being “closed” off, mostly towards Bulma, but clearly they’re missing the point to Vegeta’s character.
And how likable he is because of his trials, tribulations and personal growth.
14. Kokomi Teruhashi (The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K)
Kokomi’s personality is ridiculous. The kind of girl who appears “perfect” to everyone, because she adapts to fit the situation. Like a chameleon.
Despite this side of her though, she’s a fun, likable character who’s more entertaining than most female characters from similar series (comedy, slice of life).
It’s a good laugh just watching her character throughout Saiki K.
15. Anzu (HInamatsuri)
Anzu’s likable for deeper reasons than other characters on this list.
She’s put through so much in such a short space of time, like homelessness and being forced to steal to survive.
And just seeing her character develop takes you on an emotional journey sprinkled with some of the biggest life lessons I’ve seen in .
She’s more relatable than most characters who tend to be cheerful, energetic and positive.
16. Koko Hekmatyar (Jormungand)
Koko Hekmatyar, to me, is even better than a comparable character like Revy Rebecca from Black Lagoon.
Koko’s a business woman. Maybe that’s what I like most about her.
But really it’s unbelievable amount of grit, determination and how she’s able to “stomach” the ruthlessness of the business she’s in. Which is selling weapons to dirty politicians and warlords.
17. Diablo (How Not To Summon A Demon Lord)
Diablo’s inner-dialogue is hilarious. So if that’s your thing, there’s a lot to be seen in this .
His “back and forth” between his introverted personality that he’s hiding, and the extroverted personality he’s forced to act out is one of the most well-done I’ve seen.
He’s a likable character as far as “” series go. Where the MC’s tends to be a little bland.
18. Dutch (Black Lagoon)
Dutch is another business man on this list. And he’s always about his business.
He’s cool, calm and collected, always keeping a level head even when sh** hits the fan.

19. Subaru Natsuki (Re:Zero)
Subaru is another relatable character like Anzu for deeper reasons.
What you get from Subaru is a guy who’s a gamer, forced into another world where his life is constantly put in danger. Forced to step out his comfort zone and grow as a person.
Just watching his character develop, and the realism of what he’s put through, is enough reason to find this guy likable.
20. Koro Sensei (Assassination Classroom)
Koro Sensei is the best school teacher I never had. Teaching his students based on their skill sets, their strengths, weaknesses, and helping them fill in the gaps.
Compare that to the education system we live in today, which forces everybody to be “equal” when no such thing exists.
What’s not to like about Koro Sensei!
21. Osamu Dazai (Bungou Stray Dogs)
Osamu is weird. I’ll just start there. Watch the 1st episode of Bungou Stray Dogs and you’ll understand within the first 10 minutes.
But for some reason – that’s what makes Osamu so interesting.
He’s not just weird for the sake of it. There’s a meaning to his madness, making him too entertaining to turn away from.
22. Anzu Shiina (Flying Witch)
That’s right, another character named Anzu with blonde hair.
Anzu Shiina is peaceful. And this side of her personality just puts you at ease.
It makes you want to relax, avoid trouble, and enjoy life for what it is.
She’s unique in that way, and so she’s likable for different reasons than your average character.
23. Saber (Fate Stay Night)
The King Of Knights is a proud person, but never too proud to do what needs to be done.
Saber has humility, so nothing is “too” below her standards that she wouldn’t do it out of shame or arrogance.
And besides, who doesn’t love a woman who knows what she wants, and won’t hesitate to tell you?
24. Sousuke Sagara (Full Metal Panic)
Sousuke’s so serious and uptight. It cracks me up. You could literally take him to a comedy concert and he wouldn’t even find the jokes funny.
He’s a child soldier who’s trained for combat after all. So it’s no wonder he’s turned out like that.
But then again, that’s why he’s different. There’s a strong sense of duty and purpose to everything Sousuke stands for.
25. Mochizuki Touya (In Another World With My Smartphone)
Mochizuki Touya’s similar to Gray Fullbuster. Both characters remind you of something who’s cool, laid back and easy going.
The type of character you could chill with and enjoy yourself without feeling uneasy.
26. Kaizaki Arata (ReLife)
Kaizaki goes from being a 27 year old NEET, to a mentor for other characters. And how it all comes together is what makes Kaizaki, and the itself worth your time.
You won’t run into characters like Kaizaki often. It’s surprising how many people can relate to his circumstances, struggles, and challenges in life.
Not to mention his outlook and personal view of the world.
27. Mugen (Samurai Champloo)
If you thought a character like Bakugou Katsuki was bad, just wait till you meet Mugen from Samurai Champloo.
Mugen is one of the most delinquent, gangster-like characters with a bad attitude and little respect for most people.
At least that’s how it looks on the outside.
But in fact – that’s why he’s likable. Because he’s straightforward, can smell pretentious B.S from a mile away, and won’t hesitate to go after what he wants.
Mugen’s flaws is why he’s a likable character.
- Asirpa (Golden Kamuy).
- Kunikida (Bungou Stray Dogs).
- Edward Elric ().
- Lelouch Lamperouge (Code Geass).
- Saichi Sugimoto (Golden Kamuy).
- Kyoka Jiro ().
- Mikoto Misaka (A Certain Scientific Railgun).
- Kiritsugu Emiya (Fate Zero).
- Allen Walker (D. Gray Man).
- Revy Rebecca (Black Lagoon).
- Archer (Fate Stay Night).
- Kyouka Izumi (Bungou Stray Dogs).
In the end there are so many reasons an character is likable.
Some reasons are simple, others run a little deeper.
It doesn’t always have to be “emotional” for an character to have likable personality traits.

MBTI®: 15 Anime Characters Who Are ENFPs
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® system, also known as MBTI®, was named after its creators Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers. Despite having little experience in the field, both were interested in psychology, and, by compressing the various methods that had already been created for identifying personality types and adding in a few ideas of their own, they were able to form one comprehensive system.
RELATED: Sports Anime: Which One Should You Watch Based On Your MBTI®?
The way it works is this: pick one of two choices out of four categories, and you'll be assigned a four-letter personality type. The categories are: introversion [I] or extroversion [E], sensing [S] or intuition 931, thinking [T] or feeling [F], and judging [J] or perceiving [P]. Following those guidelines, an ENFP would be an extroverted person who has a strong intuition, prefers to feel things rather than simply think about them, and values perception above judgment. There are plenty of great ENFP characters in anime - these are a few of the best.
Updated on October 5th, 2021 by Abby Spessard: Five additional entries were added to this list for people who need some more examples of which anime characters best fit the ENFP personality type, representing a wider variety of movies and shows.
15 Reki Kyan - Sk8 the Infinity
Reki Kyan is a charming and creative character, as many ENFP's are. In Sk8 the Infinity, he wears his heart on his sleeve when it comes to his friends and his passion for skateboarding.
But when things start to wear him down, his emotions take control and he begins to shut out all of those closest to him. As Reki becomes more self-aware of these emotions, he learns more about his relationships and how they impact him— both good and bad.
14 Kiki - Kiki's Delivery Service
Kiki is as independent as they come. At the age of 13, she flies away from home as a witch-in-training. Her excitement and eagerness show through in her extroverted tendencies.
Kiki relies on her gut feeling when making decisions. So, in Kiki's Delivery Service when the opportunity arises for work, she jumps at the chance. And when she finds she can't be true to herself, trouble with her magic begins.
13 Narumi Momose - Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku
In Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku,Narumi tends to think out loud and say exactly what's on her mind. She's attentive in her relationships, remembering things others may not (like how Hirotaka has his ears pierced).
She may seem a bit shy when first meeting, but with her friends, there's no filter. Her energy can bring up the atmosphere of the room in a short moment.
12 Spirit Albarn - Soul Eater
Spirit has the duality to be both serious and childish completely depending on the moment and situation. While he may be more goofy than necessary at times, he's excellent at reading a room and determining how best to address a situation.
In Soul Eater, he completely acts on impulse, and this carelessness has caused him trouble in his relationships. But for those he considers his friends, Spirit would place his life in their hands.
11 Kaoru Kurita - Wonder Egg Priority
Kaoru Kurita, from Wonder Egg Priority, is someone who was seeking growth. Despite being told by the Wonder Killer that he's a girl, his confidence doesn't waver in who he is. As an ENFP, this confidence and focus are what helps him win this battle.
Kaoru looks to the world with eyes full of possibilities. What could and would be. And even when it's his time to leave, his presence leaves an impact on Momoe because of the relationship they developed.
10 Touta Matsuda - Death Note
Touta Matsuda, a police officer who becomes a major character in the anime series Death Note, seems to be more ENFP than anything else.
He appreciates teamwork and welcomes the contributions of others, but at the same time, he's likely to make decisions solely based on what he believes at the time.
9 Mako Mankanshoku - Kill la Kill
The character Mako Mankanshoku from the anime series Kill la Kill is super-skilled and fiercely hot-blooded, but she can still form friendships with others— even if she has some trust issues. She's always in a hurry, although she's willing to slow down and just take in the experience for a little bit, although she quickly reverts back to her usual state.
RELATED: 10 Quotes From Kill La Kill That Redefine Shonen Anime
She's the kind of loud, proud ENFP protagonist seen in a lot of in entertainment, although they're often mislabeled as ESFPs or the like.
8 Camie Utsushimi - My Hero Academia
Camie Utsushimi, a character from the anime series My Hero Academia, is a confident hero who likes talking to people and learning everything about them— which is one of the reasons she makes such a good "investigator" type.
She can be brash at times, and she likes to dress in flashy apparel, but there's a genuine heart behind her socially awkward behavior.
7 Obito Uchiha - Naruto
Obito from the anime Naruto Shippuden is the kind of character who it's hard to get a read on when he first appears. That's precisely the look he wants to give off; while he's actually quite extroverted, he prefers having an "advantage" in conversations.
This can lead to him becoming upset and confrontational at times, especially when his pessimistic tendencies take hold. Regardless, he still seems to have a genuine love for others beneath his hardened shell.
6 Misato Katsuragi - Neon Genesis Evangelion
Misato Katsuragi, a character from the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion, is a classic example of the "troubled" ENFP type, similar to Obito; She ignores her past and protects herself through building small connections with others, but her emotions can at times come back up suddenly, making her wild and unpredictable.
RELATED: Neon Genesis Evangelion: 10 Symbolism Of 10 Strange Things, Explained
Also because of this, she prefers to just "go for it" if she wants to do something, only stopping to think about the negative consequences afterward.
5 Son Goku - Dragon Ball Z
Son Goku, the protagonist of the anime series Dragon Ball Z, is the optimistic ENFP type; he has a close group of friends who he keeps in constant contact with, he has a strong sense of adventure and loves to go with the flow, and he doesn't care about the meaningless opinions of others.
He acts as if he's completely un-troubled, but at the same time, he's not so shallow that he can't be supportive and caring to someone else who's having a hard time.
4 Lucy Heartfilia - Fairy Tail
Lucy Heartfilia, one of the main protagonists of the anime series Fairy Tail, perfectly exemplifies the positives of being an ENFP with her friendly, outgoing, and caring attitude.
RELATED: Fairy Tail: 10 Times Natsu Proved He Loved Lucy
She finds it easy to make friends and lives for the experience, always finding new ways to keep herself from being bored. Because of this, she can tire even herself out sometimes— although she quickly gets back up, ready for another adventure.
3 Kamina - Gurren Lagann
Kamina, the deuteragonist of the anime series Gurren Lagann, is the kind of ENFP who finds his joy in having the best time he can, even if it means breaking a few rules. Despite this, he's cool with others and doesn't just make trouble for no reason.
Also, even if he has few principles, he sticks to them like gospel; and if his friends are willing to fulfill their half of the relationship, he won't slack off on his either.
2 Yui Hirasawa- K-On!
Yui Hirasawa, one of the protagonists of the anime series K-On!, is the unassuming ENFP— she isn't duty-bound by rules, she's willing to walk up to others and try to be friends without any prior connection, and she likes to make sure everyone feels necessary and included.
All this is mainly because that's just the person she is; innocent enough to not really care why she does the things she does, but intelligent enough to make sure she doesn't hurt others.
1 Monkey D. Luffy - One Piece
Monkey D. Luffy of One Piece is a quintessential out-of-touch ENFP. He has a dream, he works towards that dream, and he's willing to include others in on that dream. But at the same time, he can become self-centered, or say the wrong thing; and not because he wants to, but simply because he doesn't think much of it, treating it like any other action.
Thankfully, the people around him understand this, and throughout the series, he's able to form many meaningful bonds that genuinely impact his life for the better.
