Durango Homes are built in many sizes and dimensions, but most importantly they are constructed to meet our customers needs. The ultimate size of your home is determined by the number of "sections" or "modules" that are designed, built and joined together on your site. A single section home is generally 600 Sq. Ft. to 1,200 Sq. Ft., while homes built with two or more modules range from 1,300 Sq. Ft. to more than 3,400 Sq. Ft. We offer hundreds of interior floor plans and exterior designs. You can choose the number and size of rooms as well as the features and amenities that fit your needs and lifestyle.

What is a Manufactured Home?
Our Manufactured Homes are built entirely in the factory under the federal building code administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Regulations include: design & construction, strength & durability, transportability, fire resistance, energy efficiency & quality.
What is a Modular Home?
Our Modular Homes are built entirely in the factory and comply with local building code requirements such as UBC, IRC, etc. Contruction is approved by the state, county using the same building codes as typical "site-built" homes. Regulations include: design & construction, strength & durability, transportability, fire resistance, energy efficiency & quality.
Is a Modular Code better than HUD Code?
No, both HUD and Modular Homes are built to stringent construction and energy codes. The value of a Modular code home is in situations where: a) it is required by local ordinance, and b) there are numerous modular code or custom homes in the appraisal area. The appraiser may then have more comparables which may raise the appraised value of the home.

Editorial Review | Cavco focuses on manufactured mobile homes and is one of the bigger suppliers for mobile homes. Their modular home selection is very limited. They are focused more on quantity and less on quality which is probably why their modular options are limited. Until we hear more positive details we are not very confident in them. You should compare them with other manufacturers whose primary focus is modular homes and not as a secondary offering. It also not a good sign when a mystery shopper has a bad experience with the company. |

Personal Reviews of Cavco Industries Inc.

The customer service from cavco and the company that install our home is the worst ever seen. Also the quality of the standard fixtures is by far the lousiest I seen in the 40 years of construction work. I should have built a semi custom home instead of purchasing this poor quality home

We have been in our New home for just over a year. In that year our home has continued to deteriorate at what I would consider to be an accelerated rate. It seems to be "coming apart". The workmanship is shoddy at best and I suspect the materials are substandard in a number of areas. Enough said, at the rate this home is aging I'll be lucky to get 10 years out of it. As I stated its been just over a year so most issues are not covered by warranty. I anticipate some sort of civil legal action will likely be necesary in the future. I would strongly discourage anyone from considering a Cavco home in this market (Az).

Cavco is horrible, in quality and service. Very bad workman ship and does not care about the buyer, unless you stay on their butts. I would tell you not to waste your money. They ruined my home with water damage. Their employees do not read English, so they can't read how to hook up appliances. They sent out a contractor that is just as bad. I have to try to sell it now. Beware of Cavco!!!!!

After shopping around we chose to purchase a Cavco home for a number of reasons. They had the floorplan we were looking for. Price was competitive. The workmanship in the model we looked at was as good or better than anything we saw in all others.
We took delivery of our Cavco home in August 2016. The workmanship throughout our completed home is disappointing, drywall joints poorly finished, trimwork falling off, main entry door hardware doesn't function correctly will need to be replaced, paint on walls interior and exterior poorly applied, drips, runs and missed spots. Door hinges on kitchen cabinets loose. Cracks in interior ceilings, home is still under warranty. Cavco sent a rep to do repairs shortly after delivery of my home he adjusted some windows and repaired the kitchen floor. Apparently they send the repair guy once. I called Carrol at Cavco about ceiling cracks, she informed me they are covered under warranty and she completed a work order 2 months ago, thats as far as its gone. I've spoken to the repair guy and it seems he is to busy to do the work on my home.
This is my first experience with a manufactured home. After dealing with Cavco I can say it will be my last. I definitely will not recommend Cavco to anyone who may ask.

Cavco was very willing to work with us on customization. We ordered four modulars: three off frame and one on. They arrived with structural issues and only three cosmetic cracks. I have never seen anything like it in the industry. Service immediately fixed every item upon final inspection without one squabble. There product is far superior to any of the other 15 brands I have ever sold or bought.
