How to get Fallout 76 Legendary Cores: Best events to farm
Fallout 76 Legendary Cores - Best ways to farm
In the Fallout 76 Steel Reign update, you can apply Legendary Upgrades to your gear. We've already got a complete, detailed guide to the Legendary Upgrade system for you to read.
To upgrade your gear to Legendary status, you need Legendary Cores. Makes sense, right? The issue is, Legendary Cores are quite difficult to come by, and if you want that tasty 3-Star Legendary Mod, well, you will need to spend five Legendary Cores and 4 Legendary Modules!

While Bethesda has explained that you can get Legendary Cores as rewards for completing Dialy Ops, Seasonal Events and Public Events, everyone wants to know what the fastest way is to farm these shiny, extremely useful crafting materials.
The best Fallout 76 Public Events to farm for Legendary Cores are also the most difficult, and while Daily Ops can give you some, your time will be much better spent farming these events.
Best Fallout 76 Public Events to farm:
- A Colossal Problem - 8 Legendary Cores
- Encryptid - 8 Legendary Cores
- Scorched Earth - 5 Legendary Cores
- Project Paradise - 1 to 8 depending on how many creatures survive.
- Free Range - 1 to 8 depending on how many creatures survive.
Every other Fallout 76 Public Event will give the player either one, two or three Legendary Cores upon completion. You only have a 20% chance to get 3 Legendary Cores from other Public Events.
To efficiently farm Legendary Cores in Fallout 76, you will need to take on the bigger, more difficult events mentioned above. We suggest you bring several friends along and move between these events for the most efficient farming method.

Fallout 76 has promised to hold its very own Halloween event in 2021, with the Spooky Scorched. With Halloween creeping up on us lets take a look at everything returning and what we could see from Bethesda Games Studios. Here's what we know so far:
Latest News
13 October 2021 -
Still no news on Fallout 76's Halloween event, but there is plenty of spooky items available in the Atomic Shop This Week.
11 October 2021
There's still over a week to go before the Fallout 76 Spooky Scorched Halloween event starts on October 19. Hopefully, we should get some more info from the dev's later this week on what else to expect beyond the brief details shared back in August.
1 October 2021
It's now officially October and the spooky season is nearly here. Get ready for some Halloween high jinx coming very soon to Appalachia.
Fallout 76 Spooky Scorched Halloween Event Start Times
- Fallout 76's Spooky Scorched Halloween Event 2021 Start Date: October 19, 2021
- Fallout 76's Spooky Scorched Halloween Event 2021 End Date: November 2, 2021
Fallout 76 Spooky Scorched Halloween Event Features
According to an update from the devs back in August:
"it's not just going around and killing a bunch of Scorched in costumes, it's more about collecting certain types of candy and we're going to allow players to go to other player camps and effectively trick-or-treat from a special object in the camp"
The team also teased that players will be able to dress up in costumes and visit other players C.A.M.P. to trick-or-treat in-game.
You'll find more details from the devs in the below video at the 18 minute mark.
What happened to Mischief Night?
Fallout 76 did hold a Halloween event in 2019 called Mischief Night, but it didn't return in 2020. This event offered up new quests and rewards to earn themed around the spooky occasion. A new public event was also added which offered up some treats.
Clearly though it didn't hit the right tone of what the devs were looking for since it seems to have been scrapped in 2021.

Fallout 76 Gets Another Event Roadmap
Fallout 76 players were treated to yet another community event calendar this week to show off the planned events coming to the game over the next couple of months. Those include some of the typical events like the Double XP weekends players have become accustomed to as well as less frequent things like the game's next big update and the Quakecon event planned for August. The roadmap goes out until September, so there's plenty to look forward to between now and then.
The roadmap can be seen below for those who didn't catch it when it was first revealed this week. It shows that the Steel Reign update featuring more Brotherhood of Steel content will release on July 7th with more events coming in July alongside the start of Season 5. After that, August will be filled with typical events and then Quakecon before September brings the Fall update and more typical weekend events.
Fallout 76's next update will add a new merchant named Minerva who players will see mentioned in the roadmap. Like the Purveyor Sale, Minerva will have her own sale for players to look forward to at times.
"A new Blue Ridge Caravan merchant, Minerva, arrives in Appalachia with our Steel Reign update on July 7," Bethesda said. "She'll gladly take any of your Gold Bullion you're willing to part with, in exchange for a variety of Plans at a discount. Minerva likes to set up shop at one of the three settlements: Crater, Foundation, and Fort Atlas. Check back with her often, as her inventory rotates regularly."
These roadmap releases have become common occurrences with the starts of new seasons, and though they may change at times as events are pushed back or otherwise moved around, they're typically pretty solid indicators of what's to come. If you're planning on making any big purchases in Fallout 76 or intend to grind towards different goals, make sure you consult the community roadmaps first to make the most out of special events taking place during the week and on weekends.

‘Fallout 76’ kicks off the next update with a shiny new Gold Rush event
Ahead of Fallout 76‘s next update, Bethesda has announced that players now have more ways to strike it rich with this weekend’s Gold Rush event.
On Thursday (July 29), Bethesda launched the Gold Rush Weekend event as a way for players to earn some extra gold. To do so, Bethesda’s blog states Fallout 76 players must “visit the gold press machines in Foundation and Crater to exchange your treasury notes for up to double the normal amount of gold bullion.”
During the event, players will be able to earn up to 800 gold bullions per day, which Bethesda notes will be handy “when our newest gold bullion vendor, Minerva, hosts her big sale from August 5-9. During that time, she’ll have a greatly expanded inventory”.
The event started on July 29 and will conclude on August 2, which is a day before Fallout 76‘s next update launches.
While the update will add new cosmetics to the atomic shop, it won’t bring too much new content to the game. Instead, Bethesda has confirmed that this update will “implement fixes for a variety of issues, many of which were reported to us by players”. This update is planned to arrive on August 3, and patch notes will be released during maintenance downtime carried out on the day.
This bug-fixing patch will arrive a month ahead of Fallout Worlds, a much bigger update which will bring custom servers to the Fallout 76.
Finally, Bethesda has shared that their latest three-part radio drama, ‘K.D. Inkwell In Escape From The 42nd Century‘, will soon be available for players to listen to in-game. The drama follows time-traveler K.D. Inkwell, who travels to a dystopian future in search of answers to questions such as “why are those dolphins walking?”
In other news, upcoming RPG Crimson Desert has been delayed indefinitely.
