Path of Exile 3.10 Delirium Best Starter Builds

With the highly anticipated Path of Exile 3.10 Delirium league right around the corner, players are asking on a daily basis in both the forums and on Reddit what builds people are going to start the new league with.

03.19.2020 UPDATE: Adjusted the chart and builds, provided new Links and PoBs.

Unlike 3.9 Metamorph, it appears Delirium will focus on breach-style “zerg” mechanics, which means area of effect and clear are probably going to be stronger requirements than single-target boss killing builds. While builds that can both clear well and boss are included in this overview, a solid starter will probably want to focus more on area clear than single target.

OFFICIAL PATCH NOTES UPDATE!

BUFFED: Assassin Ascendancy was buffed, the changes to Tempered/Transcendent Flesh are solid. Commander of Darkness now grants +30% Elemental Resists (from +20%).
NERFED: Skeletons (40% less damage), Spirit Offering (no longer provides ES and lost elemental resist but gained chaos resist), Carrion Golem Damage (5% vs 8% and 50% vs 80%), Feeding Frenzy (No more Damage, but global so can link to Golem), Bone Barrier Ascendancy no longer grants Elemental Resistance per Minion (30% loss), Baron Helmet(Loss of 2 Zombies at 1500 Strength, 1.5% vs 2% Damage), Precision (20% Critical at Level 1 vs. 50% prior).
MORE: Fossil crafting was fundamentally changed, but we can still craft what we’re looking for; just differently. Impale was not changed at all!

3.10 PATCH IMPACT ON THESE BUILDS

Yes, Summoners were hit, but with the Cluster Jewel enhancements available, they are still rock solid (especially Zombies) and will perform exceptionally this league! Brunowa (the author of the King of All Summoners) wrote: “Overall, I think it was a fair nerf and we are set to still be one of (if not still) the strongest build in the game! And I’m sure once we get into the game and start playing around with things and improving upon it we’ll only get better.” I agree with him completely. While the biggest hit to the Zombie build was the nerf on Spirit Offering and lack of elemental resistances from Bone Barrier (which is now Chaos, which is actually good), the summoner builds will do just fine!

To clarify, with the introduction of Cluster Jewels, every build in the game is going to have the potential of evolving beyond any currently defined guide, but it will take time for the enhanced version of a build to be refined (which can only happen after the 3.10 launch). As such, don’t worry about following a guide at launch as nobody knows what the evolved Cluster Jewel version of a build will be for days or even weeks after the league launches. As time passes, build guides will be updated to include the expanded growth and use of Cluster Jewels. As that happens, the content provided herein will be updated accordingly.

Here is a great complete visual Categorized breakdown of each Cluster Jewel Node for Delirium!

Skip Straight to the list!

I want to preface by saying I spent weeks testing each one of the top builds (and many in the follow-up list) as SSF/Leveling to end-game to verify their viability as they compare to each other as potential league starters for 3.10. This includes verifying their performance while leveling on as little as a 3-link to Act IV, their overall survival, bossing, clear speed, and scaling potential based on the first and second day of the league (which is often more SSF for players until the market grows and stabilizes).

Relative to this overview, I want to acknowledge how important play style is. Some people hate totems while others only play totem builds. Some like Melee while others love bow builds. The diversity of PoE is one of its greatest features, but also one of the most complex aspects of the game. While a build may be listed as “best” or “top”, some players may disagree because of the style(s) they prefer – but one thing is assured – the builds listed herein are all rock solid and viable for their represented roles as great league starters for 3.10 Delirium.

Path of Building is required to view many of the below builds. Additionally, make sure you have a good loot filter. I personally recommend NeverSink’s Loot Filter.

Before I present the list, I want to say something very important: just because it’s on the top list doesn’t mean it’s a “best build”. I’m presenting this list based on my personal experience as well as the feedback of other gamers and streamers. I’m sure there’s a few solid builds that could make the top 5 list that I have either overlooked or personally don’t care for the play style of (but others could really enjoy). One thing to keep in mind is 3.10 Delirium focuses on breach-style mechanics; as such, I’ve chosen builds that either focus on clear (with proper survival), or a balance of clear and bossing.

I created the above list of builds based on my personal experience from 3.9 and the changes that are anticipated for 3.10. Everyone thought Summoners would be nerfed hard in 3.9, but they still came out on top. Even with the nerfs to Summoners in 3.10, the above chart is still accurate, and summoners will still be one of (if not the) best league starters!

When it comes to a league starter, my core goal is to have a build that can easily handle yellow-tier maps on self-found gear and farm enough currency to “kickstart” any other build I want to try; but I also want a build that is capable of growing into and handling nearly all content if I want to stick with that build for a long period of time.

In addition to the above, here are the qualifiers I used to put together the list:

  1. Easy to Gear (SSF to T6-T10 Maps).
  2. Easy to acquire skills during leveling.
  3. Works on 4L to T6 Maps.
  4. Good Clear.
  5. Good Bossing.
  6. Solid Survival (most are HC Viable).
  7. Can Delve “well”.
  8. Fun to play.

Let’s get started!

Note there are more than 20 build guides/PoB links below. If the build you were hoping to find isn’t in the top ten, check the following section!

For new players, you need to install Path of Building to view the PoB files.

Here is the list of what I believe the top ten Path of Exile 3.10 Delirium top Starter Builds are, omitting the pursuit of the new Ranged skills and minion nerfs. I also cover a number of other builds after the list for reference.

Make sure you check the Notes section of any PoB you download; that’s where most of the leveling information will be found!

Build – #1 Cyclone Impale Champion

Pros:Steady and solid, well-balanced, all content, good damage & survival, great delver. HC Viable.
Cons:Can be a bit slow and steady in the beginning. Not everyone likes Spin to Win.
Play Style:Spin. Win. Flask. Leap. Spin. Win some more. Impale. Death abounds!
Build Links: (Updated 03.16.2020)Custom PoB with Leveling Notes (updated for 3.10 and based on AlkaizerX’s build, also used by top end-game Champion Cyclone builds in 3.9 for HC and Deep Delving)

This is probably one of the best builds for 3.10 that’s balanced across the board and unlikely to be nerfed at all. While it doesn’t have the best clear speed, it makes up for it by being steady, reliable, and having better bossing potential than other faster clear builds. It’s also a build that can ultimately do all content in the game and is also a great delver.

03.15.2020 Note: I league started with this build, and it’s awesome. I recommend it as the #1 option with how RIPpy Delirium currently is. The PoB has been updated to level with Axes. Switch to Cyclone as soon as you get a 5-6 link!

Build – #2 Storm Brand Hierophant

Pros:Great starter (level 12), good clear and single-target, HC, SSF and All Content Viable
Cons:Can be squishy, have to be very careful in Lab (Traps)
Play Style:Toss down those Brands and let them work over your targets! Recall and ZAP!
Build Links: (Updated 03.19.2020)My PoB (Leveling notes) based on Nugiyen’s L99 HCSSF build.

Quickly becoming one of the most popular builds, Storm Brand saw a huge burst of damage from the new Archmage skill as well as the new Cluster Nodes. It’s fun, does great damage (both single target and clear), delves well, and can do all content (with the right gear) while being HC and SSF viable. Nugiyen almost hit L100 in HCSSF with this build but accidentally ran an elemental reflect map.

Build – #3 Lacerate Gladiator

Pros:All content strong build, great delver, tanky, bleedsplosions!
Cons:Slow to start.
Play Style:Leap, Lacerate, BLEEDSPLOSION!
Build Links: (Updated 03.19.2020)Zizaran’s 3.10 PoB (Has leveling trees and notes), Zizaran’s 3.10 Bleed Lacerate League Starter Youtube Video.

Lacerate Gladiator is one of the best builds I’ve ever played (3.8 and 3.9), and enabled Steelmage to hit Level 100 in HCSSF 3.10 Delirium first. This build levels as Bladestorm with Axes, and once in maps, switches to Axe/Shield and Lacerate. If you want one of the most balanced melee builds in the game that can do all content, is SSF and HC viable, bounces and bleeds, and can delve deeper than 600; this is it.

Build – #4 Bleed Split Arrow Gladiator / Champion

Pros:Cheap, start at Level 4, great clear, good bossing, HC Viable.
Cons:None
Play Style:Shooting, penetrating and bleedsploding your enemies!
Build Links: PoB for Gladiator Version (updated for 3.10 with leveling notes), PoB for Champion Version (updated for 3.10 with leveling notes)

I can’t speak highly enough about this build; it’s simply awesome. The Gladiator version is quick to level, has great damage, clears very well, downs bosses with Puncture as they bleed out running to chase you. The Champion version is a bit slower but has better survival. If you’re playing non-HC, I recommend the Gladiator variation. If you want to survive Hardcore, I recommend the Champion version.

Build – #5 Holy Flame Totem Hierophant

Pros:Cheap, Start at Level 4, good clear, good bossing, HC viable.
Cons:Totem Play Style can bore some.
Play Style:Channeled Totems, Fire Fire Fire!
Build Link: HFT PoB (Wallach) (3.10 version), Link to Wallach’s complete HFT guide

Steady is good, and Holy Flame Totem is exactly that. While Freezing Pulse Totems is my favorite for end-game totem murder, that build requires two unique jewels (First Snow) and a Soul Mantle to really shine. Without Soul Mantle, a socket must be taken by Spell Totem. With HFT you don’t need to socket a Spell Totem. The damage is good, bosses melt, survival is great, and it’s solid all the way to T10 maps on just a 4-link, which makes it an awesome league starter.

Build – #6 Ball Lightning Mines

Pros:Cheap, good clear, awesome bossing, excellent delver.
Cons:Start at L28. Mine play style can be clunky.
Play Style:Mines creating a lightning wall of death that destroys EVERYTHING.
Build Links: Ball Lightning Miner Video Guide by PoE Builds

Ball Lightning Mines destroyed all content in 3.9, equally melting the screen just the same as all bosses. There’s something magical about the flashing balls melting everything on the screen. This build is very powerful on just a 4-link, it delves excellently, and is easy to level once you get the skill at 28.

Build – #7 Toxic Rain Mines Saboteur & Trickster

Pros:Cheap, start at Level 12, good clear, good bossing, HC viable, fun.
Cons:Miner play style; nonstop key-pressing and clicking. Self-cast trickster is good alternative.
Play Style:Ranged Mines; lots of clicking OR self-cast ranged attack; Poison/Chaos Damage (DoT)
Build Links: TR Mines PoB (Octavian) (updated for 3.10, includes leveling notes), Toxic Rain Trickster Guide by typicaldemon

TR Miners and self-cast tricksters did great this league, and will continue to be excellent performers. I’m wrapping both the miner and self-cast versions into this single entry for those who want to pursue different play styles. Either way, you can’t go wrong with Toxic Rain melting the entire screen in just a second or two.

Build #8 – Skeleton / Zombie Summoner

Pros:Cheap, start at level 10, good clear, very good bossing, HC viable.
Cons: None
Play Style:Self-Cast Minions at Location, Phys Damage. Meat Shield Zombies.
Build Links:King of all Summoners (Zombies) by brunowa, iLL3aT’s Cold Skeletons, Esoro’s Zombie Necromancer

As mentioned in the patch notes, Summoners were nerfed, but each of these builds should still be viable; the Skeleton damage hit may make using SRS while leveling more viable, but once in maps, Skeletons should perform just fine. One of the key play styles of a Summoner are the mechanics of monster targeting fo survival, so not only do our buddies wreck enemies, they also taunt and take aggro from us, which increases our survival greatly. Each of these builds should be awesome as a league starter, with the only concern being associated with the Cold Skeleton build, since Skeletons lost 40% of their damage, which will be felt during leveling – but here’s the thing, they were way too powerful in 3.9. The 40% nerf may make them “great” instead of “op”. Ultimately, if you want to play skeletons, you should be fine; and we need to remember the new Cluster Jewel nodes enhance our summoners even more! As such, I’ve provided three top build references; two for zombies, and one for skeletons. For those who like to cast on top of a target to kill it, go with Skeletons. If you just want to just cyclone through everything and have your Zombies clean up around you, go with Zombies.

03.15.2020 Update: Zombies are doing just fine, it’s just that everyone has jumped on the Animate Weapon bandwagon; the problem is AW is dying like crazy in Delirium, so it’s very squishy. If you want a Minion build, Zombies are still solid.

Build – #9 ED / Contagion Trickster

Pros:Fun, start at level 12, best clear, good survival, minimal gear requirements.
Cons:Can be squishy, bossing is slow, delve is average.
Play Style:Mark, Release, Watch the entire screen die. With bosses, Mark, run around screaming while you dodge, watch the boss die.
Build Link: Ultimate ED Trickster guide by Darkxellmc, Ghazzy’s Universal Essence Drain & Contagion build guide.

Essence Drain & Contagion is going to be very popular this league because it’s one of the best clearing builds in the game. While the single target damage is average at best (compared to other builds), it is quite enjoyable to destroy the entire screen (and even off-screen) with a single cast. Spread the love around!

Build – #10 SRS Necromancer

Pros:Fun, Start at Level 4, good clear, good bossing.
Cons:Can be squishy and doesn’t delve well.
Play Style:RELEASE THE HOMING MISSILES OF FACE-EATING DEATH!
Build Links: Angry Roleplayer’s SRS guide

I’ve always loved Summon Raging Spirits. It’s just fun, especially to level. While it’s not a top contender by any means for reaching 100 or pushing delve, as a first character, it’s enjoyable to play, easy to gear, and has great clear. It’s great for building the currency and item base for your next build.

What about the other great builds?!

There are a ton of other great builds to consider as league starters for 3.10. Here’s the continued list for consideration.

Make sure you check the Notes section of any PoB you download; that’s where most of the leveling information will be found!

  1. Storm Burst Trickster is one of the best caster builds I’ve ever played. You can destroy the entire screen in seconds and melt bosses like few other skills (with very little investment). It’s very fun, scales well, and is a great league starter, able to quickly get you to maps. Just be prepared you could die a few times, and make sure you level with a physical melee skill until you get Storm Burst at level 12. Here’s a link to Esoro’s 3.9 Storm Burst Trickster PoB (details in notes).
  2. Caustic Arrow Trickster is another top performer that is likely to remain untouched with the 3.10 patch, Caustic Arrow is fun, has great survival, balanced clearing and single-target, and is just plain fun. It’s also easy to scale and build your own 6 link chaos bow in SSF. Here’s a link to My PoB with Notes (Updated for 3.10 with leveling notes, 3.4M DPS)
  3. Poison Blade Vortex Assassin has grown popular this league. It’s fun, clears well, and is also good at delving; it’s just a bit squishy and prone to 1-shots. Here’s a link to Gr0bb’s Poison BV Build Guide.
  4. CI Vortex Occultist is one of the best end-game builds, but it’s not the friendliest for SSF or easy leveling. However for those who are experienced in the game, they can make it work both as a starter and in SSF mode. Here’s a link to Ghazzy’s Vortex Cold Snap Occultist build.
  5. Icicle Mines is another great league starter, but I enjoyed the other builds more. Here’s a PoB of BeerLeague’s Low Life Icicle Mines Build. Here’s a link to the forum guide. Note it did receive a nerf in 3.9 of 20% damage and fewer projectiles.
  6. Cobra Lash clears well, is fun and is great as a league starter, but has poor bossing damage without investment. Here’s the PoB of a high DPS (5M+) lower life (4.8k) version, and the PoB of a lower DPS (600k) and higher life (6.5k) version.
  7. Storm Brand Inquisitor is quick and fun, but it doesn’t perform as well as the other builds while leveling when it comes to bossing (but the clear is great, and it’s rock solid for experienced players rushing to maps). Here’s a Storm Brand Inquisitor PoB for 3.9 that I used (details in notes). Thi3n also wrote a solid Storm Brand Inquisitor Guide for 3.9.
  8. Frost Blades lacks boss damage while leveling with self-found gear and is squishy, but is fun, clears great and is amazing at end-game with the right investment. Here’s a PoB based on Unchained’s 40M DPS version.
  9. Cyclone Impale Slayer is solid, tried and true, but is very slow to level up without solid gear investment. Here’s a PoB based on Duel Wield Ahn’s Might. It rocks, and is a great league starter because Ahn’s Might is very common and cheap.
  10. Bane is fun, fast, and solid, but doesn’t boss nearly as well as the top builds in the list. Some players also prefer Bane with Essence Drain rather than Contagion. Here’s the PoB of a Bane ED Trickster. It’s solid.
  11. Rain of Arrows Poison Pathfinder is a ton of fun. It’s faster clear than Caustic Arrow but bosses a bit slower. Here’s the PoB of this build. It’s fast, fun, and is a great farmer. Here’s a link to Astarift’s Pathfinder Poison RoA build (the one I ran, which rocks). Rain of Arrows received a 10% damage buff in 3.9.
  12. Freezing Pulse Totems is one of the best totem builds in the game; balanced for clear, bossing and delving, once you get the jewels and “good” equipment, you can do all the content PoE has to offer, which includes shattering the entire screen. It’s just not the best league starter because you need two First Snow jewels and a Soul Mantle to make it really work. Once you have those, the build rocks. Here’s Wallach’s Freezing Pulse Totems build guide.
  13. Vortex Trickster is solid for those who like the play style, and for end-game it’s one of the tankiest and most steady builds out there, capable of doing all content. Leveling to 28 with Stormblast mines is cake (and fun), and unlike Occultist, the Trickster variant can start using Vortex at 28. Vortex is also one of the best delvers in the game. It’s just a bit slow to ramp up, requires a switch to CI around level 70-75 and is a different play style from other builds. It’s also a bit squishy prior to CI due to the combination of life and ES (both around 1500 in SSF/league start before transition to CI), but once you get Ghost Dance and Escape Artist, it has great survival and solid damage; and the cold slows everything down. Here’s a PoB based on Gryphenprey’s build.
  14. Arc (Elementalist or Totems) is one of the most fun and visually satisfying skills to play, and with Arc getting a buff in 3.9, this could be a great league-starting option for Metamorph! Here’s a link to Enki’s Arc Elementalist build guide. Here’s also a link to Havock5700’s Arc Totems Build Guide. Arc’s chain range was increased by 40% in 3.9.
  15. Soulrend Trickster is a solid build guide (I actually ran it in 3.8, but it’s performance was just “ok”). With the buff from 3.9, Soulrend could become one of the best new league builds/starters. Here’s a link to Syreith’s Soulrend Trickster build guide. Soulrend received a substantial buff of 50% higher duration in 3.9.

There are definitely other great builds that could have made it on the list, but I believe the above list is solid for what we’ve learned in 3.9 and what should carry to 3.10 Delirium as Top Starter Builds.

I hope this list helps the PoE community; here’s to the continued success of Path of Exile and the fantastic job Grinding Gear Games has done with the game!

Sours: https://www.requnix.com/path-of-exile-3-10-delirium-best-starter-builds

Choosing the right class for yourself in Path of Exile is not an easy choice. Not only are there a plethora of exiles to select from, but the versatility of the game’s skills system means that specializations aren’t exclusive to any of them. Well, sort of. This guide will dive into how exactly this skill freedom works, highlight the best classes you should be picking right now, and provide build recommendations to make the most of your time in Path of Exile: Ultimatum and beyond.

Path of Exiles Classes – How Does Versatility Impact Your Choices?

The free-to-play dungeon crawler from developer Grinding Gear Games has its own way of dealing with skills. Rather than being unlocks, skills are tied to gems, which are slotted into your equipment. These gems are categorized in colors to represent one particular stat. Red for Strength, green for Dexterity, and blue for Intelligence. But the most interesting aspect comes from the versatility of the system, as classes can equip any skill gems.

This freedom opens up many possibilities when choosing a class. The tankiness and raw strength of the Marauder fits into the usual Tank/DPS stereotype. But nothing prevents it from, for example, equipping a bow with green skill gems or a wand with blue skill gems.

Does this mean you can just choose any class and mold it to fit your playstyle? To some extent, yes, but classes in Path of Exile exist for a reason. Each class’ base stats will always support the correspondent archetype — higher strength for the Marauder, higher intelligence for the Witch — which is a great advantage to have if you already have a certain build in mind (more on this later).

Your choice will also impact the way your character evolves and becomes stronger over time. If you aren’t aware of it already, PoE is famously known for its massive passive skill tree. The tree isn’t unique to each class, but instead, classes start on different paths of the tree. The varying starting locations guarantee that whenever you level up, the passive skills you will stumble upon at first are all tied to your class. As you start branching out, different types of skills begin to appear, and that’s where you can further customize (or mess up!) your build.

In summary, you’re granted unusual freedom from the get-go, so it’s highly encouraged to just create different characters and experiment. Once you’ve learned the basics of how the game operates and what to expect from its many features, it’s time to get more specific with builds.

Best Classes and Builds – Path of Exile Ultimatum League

Now that we have a solid grasp of how classes work in Path of Exile, we can start getting into Ascendancy Classes. We’ve mentioned them before, but in summary, Ascendancy Classes are basically subclasses. Each base class has three ascendancy variants which are unlocked by completing specific trials in the game.

Ascendancies expand on the strengths of each class, and it’s with them that you can see the full potential of sticking to certain weapons, armor and even skill gem sets. Each Ascendancy opens up a new passive skill tree, thus experimentation becomes a bit more limited when you’re focusing on one of these paths. But that’s exactly what you want when pursuing builds.

Bear in mind that we’ll be doing overviews of each class alongside build recommendations, whereas specific passive abilities will be showcased using Path of Building, a community-based build planner that also provides recommendations on skills and gems. In order to make it more streamlined, we’ve included templates for each of the builds.

Assassin – Poison Blade Vortex Build

Let’s begin with the fastest of the bunch. The Shadow class excels at dexterity, translating to fast movement and attack speed, with a high chance to dodge attacks or deal critical damage, depending on your specialization. We found the Assassin ascendancy to be an interesting choice as an offensive class focused on critical hits and poison themed skills.

It’s quick and deadly, which already makes for an appealing premise, but the use of poison is the highlight here. Looking into the class’ ascendancy tree, there are two in particular that can support one of the most well known builds of the game for several leagues in a row. Noxious Strike increases your chance to poison on hit while also elevating the poison duration on enemies. At the same time it also boosts your damage over time multiplier (so you can sustain it) and gives you the ability to recover health for every poisoned enemy that dies by your hand.

As the name implies, the Poison Blade Vortex build capitalizes on this damage. It’s also based upon Blade Vortex, a skill gem that creates flying blades that orbit around the character for a couple seconds. This, of course, can be stacked multiple times, increasing the duration and damage simultaneously.

When paired up with Withering Step and Plague Bearer, the Assassin can move through enemy mobs without much effort, killing everything in their path. It’s important to learn the timing of the three skills in order to optimize their use — Plague Bearer has to be active at almost all times, while Withering Step has a cooldown that intertwines with Blade Vortex. Sourced Path of Building (Fork) can be found here.

Elementalist – Carrion Golem Build

Some players consider the Necromancer class and minion-based builds to be rather boring. Don’t let this deter you though. They can be a good way to learn the ropes of the game without needing to worry about the complexity of other classes. Whereas others have you juggling between several skills or forcing you to keep moving, summoning a group of minions to do the job for you makes things easier and that’s what we’ll be focusing on for this entry.

The Witch will become a Necromancer, Occultist, or Elementalist through its ascendancies. Each expands upon the bonuses to Intelligence the class has from scratch, but fewer things in the world are cooler than golems, so we went for the Elementalist. With it you have a damage boost across the different elemental ailments, and of course, golem-related skills to increase how long they can put up a fight, as well as the bonuses from having them tagging along.

The Carrion Golem build starts off using the skill of the same name, summoning a creature that can attack independently and will stand on its feet longer than your usual zombie minion. You still want to have both spectres and zombies in your party though since the golems benefit from having them in the group as well. The ascendancy passive skills you choose will focus on the big folks, however.

Liege of the Primordial and Elemancer are your top priorities here. Once you have both of them, you’ll be able to summon up to six golems at the time instead of the usual four and also get tons of other bonuses. Your golems will be immune to elemental damage, the buffs for both you and them get increased, and the overall damage will go higher as a result as well. Most importantly, whenever any of them gets killed, resummoning only takes four seconds. Sourced Path of Building (Fork) can be found here.

Hierophant – Freezing Pulse Totems Build

Even when using two-handed swords and bows, Intelligence-based classes can make great use of totems. In Path of Exile, totems don’t just provide passive buffs. They can attack enemies, cast auras, and even use spells from skill gems. Once placed on the ground they work independently and have a health bar that will destroy them when depleted. Having a group of these summons can lead to some unexpected results, and this is where the Hierophant excels.

The Templar is an intriguing class from the start. In practice, the class finds itself in between the Marauder (Strength) and the Witch (Intelligence), working as a hybrid class. As a result, all three subclasses are quite different from one another. The Hierophant is great if you’re interested in spell casting using totems, boasting a huge mana pool that becomes more important than your character’s health as it serves as the base for everything.

Freezing Pulse is a spell skill that launches a frozen projectile that deals cold damage, and also pierces through enemies, with a chance to freeze them entirely as well. It’s incredibly powerful and satisfying to use. Placing multiple totems with this skill is even more gratifying, amplifying your range and damage output.

In a similar fashion to the Elementalist’s golems, we’re going to be focusing on the ascendancy passive skills centered around totems. Pursuit of Faith increases the maximum number of summoned totems, lengthens their duration, and boosts how quickly they’re placed on the ground. Ritual of Awakening is the perfect companion to that, improving your damage and regenerating both mana and health for each summoned totem. It’s a different build compared to the others, but can lead to an interesting playstyle that fits Path of Exile’s frenziness rather well. Sourced Path of Building (Fork) can be found here.

Deadeye – Toxic Rain Build

Toxic Rain has been a popular skill gem for the Duelist and Ranger subclasses across multiple leagues. It continues to be rampant. This time around we have our eyes set on the Ranger’s Deadeye ascendancy which is great for using bows. This class excels at projectile skills and that’s exactly what we’ll need for the build at hand.

The title of the skill is rather self-explanatory: while using bows, the character will fire arrows into the air, causing them to rain down on the targeted area. In addition, projectiles hitting the ground lead to so-called spore pods, dealing chaos damage over time and slowing down the movement speed of affected enemies. It’s a powerful skill on its own, but can be further increased thanks to the Deadeye’s capabilities.

Before getting into ascendancy passive skills, alongside Toxic Rain you’re gonna want to look for Mirage Archer. This is a support gem, meaning that it has to be linked to a skill gem. Doing so will summon a mimic of your character that repeats the attached skill you trigger, which is Toxic Rain in this case. It’s not only cool but also extremely useful to have.

When paired up with Gathering Winds (giving you the Tailwind buff that increases action speed every time you trigger Toxic Rain) and Occupying Force (increasing the number of Mirage Archers up to 3 at the time), the Deadeye finds itself in an interesting position. Enemies won’t die automatically and you constantly have to keep on moving. But being able to summon multiple archers that act similarly to totems (as Occupying Force detaches them from your character) creates a brilliant dynamic. Path of Exile: Expedition: The Best Starter Builds for PoE 3.15

PoE Update 3.15 has thrown the meta over the top. Therefore we present you strong builds from the community for the start into the new league.

On 23 July 2021, the newest league in Path of Exile started with Expedition. This not only brings a cool new season mechanic with it, in which you become a treasure hunter, but also a lot of balance adjustments. These are currently causing quite a bit of chaos in the community, as the long existing meta has been thrown overboard with just one patch.

As with every start of a new league, we present some of the best Starter Builds for the new season. So if you feel like taking a closer look at the somewhat complicated but extremely fun action RPG, we’ll provide you with the right skill from the community for every player type.

What is a Starter Build anyway?

Many experienced PoE players advise starting each new season with a “League Starter Build”. These builds have the advantage that they are easy to level and work without extremely expensive items. If special unique items are needed for a build, they can be obtained relatively cheaply by trading with other players.

With our presented builds, you can reach the endgame more easily, so that you can farm strong items and currency on the maps there. These in turn finance your equipment for Twink characters, which can be min-maxed even better.

Path of Building will help you

Path of Building is a programme that allows you to plan your PoE builds down to the smallest detail. In our case, however, the most important feature is that you can import builds from the linked guides, which are usually shared via pastebin link.

Download Path of Building in the Community Edition, click on “Import/Export Build” in the top left corner and then on “Import from Pastebin” in the screen that follows – then simply copy the link, confirm, done!

You should now be able to see the distribution of skill points in the skill tree. Many builders divide the skill tree into several levels so that you know where you should put your points first when levelling. To do this, click on the area marked in the screenshot below on the left:

1. Forbidden Rite Totems Hierophant (Templar)

As always, we recommend a totem build for the Expedition League, as this is one of the easiest builds in the whole game and is especially suitable for newcomers and returnees.

After recommending the Freezing Pulse Totems Hierophant again and again for a long time, we use the big balance adjustments to focus on a completely new skill: Forbidden Rite. This skill causes enormous damage, but normally also a whole 40 percent damage to the health points and energy shield of its caster. However, you can avoid this penalty if you pair Forbidden Rite with a Totem Support Gem. They will then cast the skill fully automatically until they die – but you can always just set them up again.

Thanks to its easy playability, the build is particularly suitable for players who are trying out PoE for the first time or have no previous experience with similar action RPGs. In addition, it is extremely cheap and works very well even with rare (yellow) items.

However, the Forbidden Rite Totems Hierophant also relies on one of the most unspectacular game variants PoE has to offer: You set up your totems, they fire at all nearby enemies and all you have to do is collect the loot.

For maximum effectiveness, the inventor of the build – YouTuber Zizaran, well-known in the PoE community – relies on Cluster Jewels to increase the health points of the totems. This allows them to fire more often before you have to rebuild them.

So be sure to check out his video and the skill tree in Path of Building. Both will help you understand the build quickly.

Advantages:

– Very beginner friendly
– Very good “clear speed” due to high AoE damage
– Works very well to a certain extent even with rare (yellow) items
– Strong defence through Mind over Matter

Disadvantages:

– Gameplay can get boring in the long run
– Requires expensive Cluster Jewels later on
– Endgame bosses comparatively difficult to do

Path of Bulding

2. Enki’s Archmage Hierophant (Templar)

Those who have searched the official Path of Exile forum for a suitable build in the past will almost certainly have stumbled across Enki’s Arc Witch. The lightning witch by streamer Enki is one of the oldest and most popular builds, the corresponding forum thread has collected almost 2000 pages of comments.

The big balance patch has now put an end to this, because after more than seven successful years, the popular build simply no longer works well enough and has now been declared dead by the creator. But Enki has already presented a successor.

The build is quickly explained: With your Templar, all you have to do is stand still, cast the chain lightning spell Arc continuously and cause millions of damage. You don’t really have to aim with the lightning, because as long as enemies are in range, they will reliably find their target – even behind corners and out of your field of vision! Ball Lightning is also a strong single-target spell that lets bosses and rare enemies die quickly.

Advantages:

– Very cheap to build
– Good damage scaling
– Smooth Gear Progression

Disadvantages:

– Not all map modifiers possible
– Two active skills

3 Cold Skeleton Necromancer (Witch)

As always, we are once again presenting a pure Summoner build – ideal for all those who enjoyed playing the Necromancer in Diablo 2. This time we recommend the Cold Skeleton Necromancer. This one relies entirely on the bony helpers, who this time come to your support as warriors, archers or mages – depending on what you feel like!

Besides the totem build, there is probably no better skill for beginners: you summon your servants and let them do the work, while you only have to pick up the loot. Since the skeletons also attract the attention of enemies and take damage, this is one of the safest ways to play.

Even the boss fights in the endgame are relatively easy to master with this build, as you can focus on dodging and thus internalise the mechanics of the encounters.

But like all other builds, this Summoner loses around 30 to 40 percent of the damage compared to patch 3.14 – so you have to be prepared for slightly longer boss fights. You can see what such a fight looks like here:

Advantages:

– Very beginner friendly, easy to play
– Even manages red maps with cheap items worth 2 Exalted Orbs.
– Lots of items to work towards for big strength boosts
– Maximum DPS while focusing on survival

Disadvantages:

– Poor overview due to many servants
– Summoner play style is not for everyone

4th Ball Lightning Miner Saboteur (Shadow)

Mine-based builds are a bit more difficult to play, which is why we’ve been happy to forgo them in our starter builds in the past. However, the so-called miners were extremely powerful in past leagues, so they simply belong in this list.

Miners are therefore more challenging to play because we first have to throw our mines at the enemies and then detonate them with an additional button press – in combination with consuming our potions, this can lead to quite a bit of “button mashing”.

The mines themselves don’t do any damage though, after all we have to combine another skill with them, which is then triggered by the mines – here you use the lightning spell “Ball Lightning”.

If you are confident enough to master the increased effort (and be happy with it – the constant detonating is not fun for everyone), you get a strong build, which according to the guide author g00fy_goober will be a good choice in 3.15 again.

However, the Ball Lightning Miner has also received some nerfs: Because the Awakened Hextouch Gem was generated, you have to do without a curse like Sniper’s Mark or Elemental Weakness. Also, it is no longer possible to level up all auras completely, otherwise the mana multiplier would increase too much.

Advantages:

– Incredible single-target damage against bosses.
– Shocks, ignites, hypothermises and freezes enemies
– Nearby enemies are blinded
-Can handle all map mods
– Any content can be completed, including the hardest end-game bosses
– Strong defensive capabilities
– Easy to equip, but also strong upgrade potential

Disadvantages:

Endgame equipment can be very expensive
Gameplay is more demanding as more keys are required than other builds

5th Earthshatter Juggernaut (Marauder)

After some of you complained in the last patch that we recommended Earthquake instead of Earthshatter for melee fighters, we’re heeding your call this time.

Just like all the other starter builds, the Earthshatter Juggernaut is an extremely powerful and easy-to-play build that stands out for its truly absurd area of effect damage. With one blow, you can virtually hit all the enemies on your screen at the same time.

The skill works like this: First you hit the enemies with Earthshatter, then spikes shoot out of the ground when you use Leap Slam or War Cry. In this way, you clear large numbers of enemies out of the way in a flash.

In addition, there is an absolutely powerful defence: over 15,000 armours and eight Endurance Charges are easily possible. In the end, you will take 90 percent of the physical damage, plus occasional blocks and a large HP regeneration.

The creator of the build explains all the advantages and disadvantages in his YouTube video:

Advantages:

– Extremely hard to kill thanks to high HP, up to 90 percent physical damage reduction.
– Requires only a few, cheap items and no expensive Cluster Jewels
– Very mobile, as you can constantly hop around with Leap Slam
– Free choice between staffs (more defence) or maces (more damage)

Disadvantages:

– Vulnerable to elemental damage
– You must pay attention to your Endurance Charges

What’s new in PoE 2?

As you surely know, developer Grinding Gear Games has been working on the official sequel Path of Exile 2 for quite some time, which was announced at ExileCon 2019. Next year at the latest, it should be ready and we can finally play the highly anticipated title ourselves – at least in a beta version.

Sours: https://www.global-esports.news/general/path-of-exile-expedition-the-best-starter-builds-for-poe-3-15-2/

Path of Exile is a game where your success depends on the build you choose for your character. There are seven different classes in PoE and each of them has at least three ascendancy classes, that makes the game more variable and complicated at the same time. That’s why we have decided to make the list of the best builds for Path of Exile that can help you play any class at any time.

These Path of Exile best builds lists consists of descriptions and links to detailed builds. You can use navigation by clicking on the portraits above and below. All builds are adjusted to the current PoE league and 3.14 patch. We will modify it as any changes hit the game.

Slayer Builds

Slayer ascendancy

[Melee]Dexyn’s 1h Impale Cyclone Slayer
About this build:
Updated for 3.14 Ultimatum league. This is an Impale Cyclone build that I made during Legion league that I plan to update consistenly throughout the future leagues. It can be played as any Duelist/Marauder ascendancy except for Chieftain and the main focus is to demolish endgame content without spending a fortune. Previous leagues I’ve spent roughly 10 exalts to clear all endgame content deathless including things such as Sirus 8, Uber Elder, Shaper, Aul, Cortex etc.”

[Melee]Devon’s Pure Phys Crit-Cyclone
About this build:
“Simple, Spin to win and crit! The most important interaction is of course criting while wielding a Starforge. Since we’re purely physical the slayer ascendancy allows 100% physical reflect immunity. With that we’re able to do most map mods without having to worry about any form of reflect. The other notable difference from other builds is the use of Impresence where our Vulnerability + Blasphemy setup becomes free.”

[Melee]Konsta’s Slayer Double Strike Starter
About this build:
“This Build is being updated for 3.14. I designed this build for 3.9 Metamorph league. Since it was a bow league itemization was a lot more expensive for bows so I opted for melee. Double strike duelist is an old concept and I’ve started with similar build twice before. I can vouch that it is fast and effective on minimal investment. While not designed for HC, the defences are solid and a lot of content can be simply facetanked. I’m not a HC player myself, but anything is a HC build if you’re brave enough :)”

[Ranged]Arthur606’s Elemental Hit Slayer
About this build:
“This build utilizes the synergy between Slayer Ascendancy Masterful Form (Your Maximum Endurance Charges is equal to your Maximum Frenzy Charges) and Replica Farrul’s Fur (Gain up to your maximum number of Frenzy and Endurance Charges when you gain Cat’s Agility). Now that explody goes legacy, it’s once again the best chest. 3.14 patch notes didn’t touch any single aspect of this build, it’s gonna be a great league starter all the way to endgame ultimate minmax.”

Gladiator Builds

Gladiator ascendancy

[Melee]PaLe1337’s Spectral Shield Throw Bleed Gladiator
About this build:
“I played a lot of minion builds in the past before 3.8 and it was really strong but needed some understanding. I was really happy when they announced the simplification and buffs of those builds. Spectral Shield Throw (SST) was always on my list as a really nice looking and funny skill. It received attention as some streamers played it last season with the Deadeye cold conversion variant. But vanished really fast again. I wanted to do something else. And here it is. Bleed Explosions SST Gladiator with max Block. I enjoy the build so much that i decided to write my first guide ever for it.”

[Melee]Blazer’s Glad Flicker/Cyclone God
About this build:
“Are you tired of dying? Are you sick from slow builds? do you wish for a build that has insane clear speed but also crazy high DPS? do you wanna go AFK in the middle of a pack of monsters and get back to find them dead at your feet? Then this build is definitely for you!. With this build, you can literary clear, kill, eliminate, and destroy everything the game has to offer! best part is, all this on 5L!”

[Melee]Poisom’s The BLOCKMAN Cyclone Gladiator
About this build:
“This build is perfect for a league that you will need to survive to fight a full ritual encounter to get more loot and facing up to 10 bosses at once. Can be done as league starter , can easily run all maps with rare gear you can check it doing conqueror’s on low budget in the videos.”

[Melee]KissMeQuick’s Reave Gladiator: REBORN
About this build:
“This is your rare opportunity to play a build which can handle the hardest content in the game without breaking the bank! The build has evolved through hundreds of patches – always capable of playing the hardest content cheap, fast and safe! Once you start with this build and progress your character, you’ll finally experience how it really feels to play a power demon build which is not based on deceptive language, unrealistic gear or hidden PoB tricks.”

[Ranged]DankawSL’s Crimson Bow RoA + Puncture Gladiator
About this build:
“This build features a reasonably tanky and well-rounded character capable of tackling all of the content this game has to offer. It uses Rain of Arrows for map clear and Puncture for single target damage, with bleed being the primary damaging mechanic. Guide also contains optional end game version of the build which uses Siege Ballista for single target instead.”

[Ranged]ShamefulPenguin’s Bleedsplosion Bow Gladiator
About this build:
“I wanted to introduce players my take on a bleed bow character. My build guide will show you what I looked for on each individual item. I try to make my builds new player friendly so I apologize if you feel like some of the things I say is repetitive. This build is great for all content, and with the Assailum helmet the bossing will be a lot quicker although it isn’t necessary.”

Champion Builds

Champion ascendancy

[Melee]Frezziee’s Bladestorm Impale Champion
About this build:
“I finished playing Harvest league with my Bladestorm build and noticed pretty heavily that there really weren’t any good build guides on Bladestorm at all so I thought I’d throw my hand at it and share my experience on how to progress the build to be endgame viable, which was pretty easy. I’ll be posting a cluster jewel version and a non-cluster jewel version.”

[Melee]Bergerbrush’s Impale Cyclone Champion
About this build:
“Welcome to the Facetanking Impale Cyclone Champion Build! I made several versions for newer players and for experts, so everyone can easily understand why we make certain choices and what different mechanics means for this Build. All information necessary to go from Level 1 to reach Endgame will be heavily detailed. Let’s start very simple by talking about some general information about the character!”

[Melee]Alkatraz_BR’s Earthshatter Impale 2H Champion
About this build:
“This compilation is focused on the Earthshatter skill and its synergy with the Warcry skills, a synergy that has been used a lot in racing, and in the HC, SSF HC, SSF league, you will not need amazing items to work and make the whole game, in addition to an axe with good dps, will save you from some fighting mistakes with a lot of damage mitigation, and with good enough damage to do all the content.”

[Minion]Peterrabbit’s Fortified Summoner Champion
About this build:
“I made this build because I really enjoy the low-stress ease and dependability of the champion spec, and wanted to see if a 35k+ armour, perma-fortify melee class could make a summoner playstyle work. This build is extremely tanky and forgiving, and just as importantly FUN to play, with an absolute minimum of the random deaths that are so frustrating in higher level content. We are melee after all, taking large hits to the face comes with the territory!”

Juggernaut Builds

Juggernaut ascendancy

[Melee]Hybrid’s Molten Strike Jugg
About this build:
“I tried many kind of builds when i started playing POE but was never fully satisfied. So i decided to create one by myself that fill my needs. Being tanky isnt enough, i also wanted the build to feel smooth and nice for clearing, so attack speed helps for both. At this point i felt the build is in a good state and decided to share it in the forum so i released my Molten Strike Juggernaut!”

[Melee]HeroEvermore’s Ice Crash-Jugg-2h-AxeVersion
About this build:
“I saw the new Ice Crash coming in 3.11 and decided to make a crit focused build to freeze the game. Inspired by Fleshripper Axe and free Ice Crash conversion. While most went Earthquake builds I saw huge advantage to the AoE with Ice Crash being able to protect you better while Chilling and Freezing. I really never expected my damage to get to these numbers and have been overjoyed by the private messages and thoughts about the build!”

[Melee]Corosou’s Bladestorm Jugg
About this build:
“Jugg has a lot of little things going for it. Things like: not having to worry about accuracy, immunity to freeze/chill/temporal chains, Endurance Charges, Accuracy > DPS Scaling and a bit of MS. Easy fighting in a small area – you can just drop some Bladestorms and let them keep doing damage, blinding mobs, while you move around.”

[Melee]Kriell’s Wild Strike HoWA CI Jugg
About this build:
“The HoWA CI Jugg is back. Again. And we still clear everything in style. Like tanky chars? Big HP numbers? Layered defenses? Most importantly, are you tired of dying? I was in Ritual league, and the trusty old CI HoWA Jugg let me make a joke out of Maven and her Uncharted Realms battles. Get dabbed on and put on some shoes, Maven.”

Berserker Builds

Berserker ascendancy

[Melee]Frost’s Warbringer Slaming Serker
About this build:
“Slamming Serker is in my opinion is one of the more underused and beginner friendly builds the game has to offer. It has a linear scaling and easy to understand gearing investments. This build is capable of doing any and all content in the game, and a great league starter.”

[Melee]Torstein’s Death Angel BF + FB Berserker
About this build:
“Welcome to my 6th and my most insane build, Blade Flurry (single target) + Frost Blades or Infernal Blow (clear) and 2 Oni-Goroshi swords. Probably every league so far since I started playing PoE, I’ve had one Oni-Goroshi character in every one of them. It’s by far my favorite item in the game and one of the few truly unique items.”

[Melee]Wishdropper’s General’s Cry Blade Flurry Berserker
About this build:
“Hey guys, this is the best boss killer build I have ever played. Blade Flurry with general’s cry deals stupid amount of damage. This is not even a min-maxed build, not using mirror tier items. Easily doable with 35-40 exalt. General’s Cry is a Warcry skill that taunts nearby enemies, and summons a number of mirage warriors from nearby corpses based on the power of nearby enemies and corpses. Mirage warriors deliver an exerted attack once with the linked trigger skill then disappear.”

[Melee]Ekule731’s Ground Slam Berserker
About this build:
“Ground Slam is a large AoE skill, with a small close range area that does 50% MORE damage. This means it excels at both clear and single target. The high attack speed and damage of berserker allows for fast clear speed and a really quick leap slam which helps a ton with bossing. The build has pretty good damage, even on a small budget, and can have above average tankyness. This build guide is intended for budgets ranging from 0.5 ex to 100. People with a budget less than 10ex probably shouldn’t consider going crit with axes.”

Chieftain Builds

Chieftain ascendancy

[Melee]Jenno’s One shot Tectonic Slam Chieftain
About this build:
“Are you looking for a build that can be both a good league starter and a strong end-game character? Are you looking for a fun build with a unique play style, fast clearing speed, and satisfying experience of one-shotting bosses? Then this build might be perfect for you.”

[Melee]Kira’s Ngamahu’s Flame Cyclone
About this build:
“Changes to Chieftain pretty much make it perfect fit for Ngamahu Flame (Free Molten Burst that does impressive damage with huge AOE granting high clear speed. Requires 0 link. You just want to pop support gems into this weapon to buff Molten Burst) so I decided to make a build for it utilizing Elemental Overload.”

[Melee]Superpocan’s One shot doryani’s fist Chieftain
About this build:
“For your discussion I’d like to introduce low budget One tap boss killer (500c for current setup). It’s a rework of my 2 leagues ago berserker build, when doryani’s prototype was introduced. We use Doryani’s prototype as a source of our damage and Doryani’s touch as our main attack. We utilize chieftain to get endurance charges and a new belt Arn’s anguish to transform them to brutal charges to get a chance of dealing triple damage. (21% with 7 charges) – PoB doesn’t count them and doesn’t know “triple damage” modifier, so on the belt in PoB I simulated it as 40% chance to deal double damage.”

[Totem]Guggelhupf’s Ancestral Warchief Chieftain
About this build:
“This Build uses the Facebreaker Gloves – unique gloves which provide a huge physical damage boost to your unarmed attacks. Because of them it is possible to create a powerful character who has no weapon and uses only his bare fists! Very tanky and hard to die because you stay behind your Totems.”

Deadeye Builds

Deadeye ascendancy

[Ranged]Remi’s Toxic Rain Deadeye
About this build:
“You are able to kill conquerors and guardian in matters of seconds, looking their life pool getting drained so quick that if you blinked you might didn’t saw what happened to them. But of course this does comes with a price, the more you invest the more damage you will get. You would also have good damage uptime as the Mirage archers would be able to do the damaging job while you are moving around dodging boss skills.”

[Ranged]Mantol456’s Ice Shot Deadeye
About this build:
“I’ve been playing this game since quite some time on and off leagues, but always went back to Ice Shot Deadeye at least once every 2 leagues or so. With the 3.13 changes, I believe this is honestly the peak of what this build could really push and so I thought I wanted to share my build with you all. The problem for a typical Ice Shot Deadeye for me has always been survivability & bossing, which in return you get an exceptional clear speed. This build managed to get around that for the best of both world, with layers upon layers of offensive & defensive mechanics to make up for the aforementioned downside.”

[Ranged]Angry_Roleplayer’s Lightning Arrow/barrage Deadeye
About this build:
“Lightning Arrow was always a popular choice for levelling, but rarely was it used in the end-game. I kind of fell in love with LA during my Kinetic Blast levelling process and decided i am gonna min-max it and push through Uber Elder and all content to see where “borders” are. It has same speed as Tornado Shot, can be MF just as TS, and at the same time can kill Uber Elder not-as-any-Tornado-Shot while being cheaper as no-one gives a damn about lightning jewels.”

Raider Builds

Raider ascendancy

[Melee]Dang’s Infernal Trinity Palm Raider
About this build:
“Satisfying Explosions and Extremely Fast Speed! Hollow Palm is a blank canvas for many different builds. At its core it is a Stat Stacking build meaning we are grabbing as much Dexterity as possible. Dexterity letting us scale both Offense and Defense per point. Infernal blow is our boss damage and also our clearing tool. The 2 totems are placed for single target almost exclusively.”

[Melee]Fiver’s Frost Blades Raider
About this build:
“This build is a Claw & Shield based Frost Blades build. It utilizes a fast clear speed, high mobility, high evasion, and high damage to clear all the available content. The high evasion and dodge chance helps keep us alive, but this isn’t a tanky AFK build. You need to stay on your toes.”

[Melee]Devon’s Blooming Flicker Raider
About this build:
“Hold right click (if that’s your bind for flicker) and occasionally dash further. Place a totem before fighting a boss and hold right click again. Most of the damage will be evaded/mitigated. On mapping frenzy charges will be generated without a problem as each kill has a 20% chance of generating one + everything on hit from Flicker. You will hit once and kill 5 things at once anyway. Regardless, both scenarios are covered.”

[Ranged]DankawSL’s Caustic Arrow Raider
About this build:
“Starting with the most important question: “Why Raider of all classes?”
For powerful defensive abilities, QoL features and speed. When damage is not a problem, these are more valuable qualities than slightly higher dps number. That’s why i believe this is the best ascendancy choice for life based CA.”

[Ranged]Leckarion’s Lancing Steel Raider
About this build:
“Heya, everyone! I decided to write this guide since a lot of people asked me how does this build work, if it’s expensive and how to build a character from low bugdet up to high budget. Since I got to level 100 and 100+ million combined dps, thought I should share my experience and help everyone wanting to build this. This build tries to achieve a good clear speed while focusing on boss killing. It can be min-maxed to be basically immortal if you stack life gain on hit and life or to simply erase all bosses in all content(except uber atziri, for that you’ll need rings to reduce reflected damage taken).”

Pathfinder Builds

Pathfinder ascendancy

[Ranged]Thedeathbeam’s Scourge Arrow Pathfinder
About this build:
“So, let me start with saying that I really love Scourge Arrow. I tried quite a few variations of SA and I think I like this one the most. Why? well, mostly thanks to Nature’s Reprisal awesome poison proliferation. It solves a lot of problems that Scourge Arrow has, and that is having to charge to deal good damage, having issues with struggler monsters near walls and having issues with outputing damage consistently (because of constant charge/release playstyle).”

[Ranged]Lazyrabbit711’s Physical Conversion Bowyer
About this build:
“This build is designed to be an excellent boss killer, while still having top tier clearspeed. It requires some currency to start with, therefore not a good league starter (I suggest having at least 15~20ex ready before you start). But with some investment, you should be able to melt endgame bosses including sirus easily. Physical conversion build is a popular mirrored build in standard. But the majority of this guide will be more focused on temp league set up. No legacy items are required in this build, and most of the items I link will be obtainable in temp league.”

[Melee]TorsteinTheFallen’s Ultimate Claw Poison Pathfinder
About this build:
“First I want to say that build is very much inspired by Mathil’s Viper Strike build from 3.7 league. I liked the attack poison based play style and wanted to push it to the next level in dps with totally different defenses. He did a great job by scaling that build the right way. Guide will cover 2 melee attack poison skills Pestilent Strike and Viper Strike. Ranged skills are discontinued as I will make guide for Assassin.”

[Spell]AndreshKi’s Blood Queen – Exsanguinate/Corrupting Fever/Petrified Blood
About this build:
“This is a Exsanguinate/Reap spellslinger that later turns into a self cast Exsanguinate/Corrupting Fever that i’m working on and is doing pretty well so far, like really well. This build excels in mapping, bossing is very good too, it works on a total budget of 0c and can fly to the moon with investment. Tankyness wise, unless you lag, you can’t really die unless you get REALLY unlucky. We have block chance capped, good chance to dodge, good life regen, elusive and phasing.”

[Spell]KobeblackmambaTTV’s Ultimatum ARC/SPARK Aura Stack
About this build:
“I finally reached 400% Aura Effectiveness, letting me reach 61% physical damage reduction with 16 Auras. This has resulted in my character feeling much tankier even with the same amount of ES. Another thing I want to bring up is Glorious Vanity, and how OP it is for reaching 400% if you get a super juiced up jewel. I get asked a lot about Budget Gear, so I thought I would price it all out.”

[Spell]Kelvynn’s Ice Dancing Queen – Icestorm/Cyclone/CI
About this build:
“Turn Wraeclast into a skating rink and pirouette all over the endgame! The main idea is to be tanky and mobile enough to faceroll everything in your way. No boss is too hard, most are too easy. All maps with most any mods are a joke. I’ve been using this build to do 40/40 challenges on my own merit in many leagues, this is my go-to build to get things done.”

[Spell]GimbO’s Archmage Hexblast Scion
About this build:
“We use Hexblast to apply huge ignites. Ignite scales with the base damage, not the actual hit itself, so increases or reductions that apply only to direct hits do not concern us (such as spell damage, resistance penetration and others). We further increase our damage by applying many curses. We self-cast Flammability which then gains doom and it is consumed by our Hexblasts and we use unique gloves that automatically cast every socketed curse in them onto our target whenever we self cast Flammability.”

[Minion]Maomh55’s Aurastacking SRS Scion
About this build:
“Ive been boss carrying quite a bit on TFT recently and ive had a lot of people ask me about my build and POB so i figured why not make a build guide! This Build can be transitioned to from being a aurabot or playing classic SRS though aurabots have better gear overlap! It can also be played as an aurabot if you would desire to support a party, You can even fill multiple roles as the aurabot/Carry or bosskiller!”

[Melee]Kira1414’s Goddess Sword Spinning in Flurry (Cyclone/Blade Flurry/Frost Blades)
About this build:
“This is a crit based 3-in-1 build using Cyclone + Frost Blades + Blade Flurry. I have always wanted to play a crit based Cyclone build and with the re-introduced version of the Goddess Sword – Oni Goroshi in patch 3.1, I decided to create one with the sword as the center piece. 3 main skills are used in the build, namely: Cyclone + Frost Blades for mapping and Blade Flurry for single target.”

[Spell]Kami’s Life/LL/CI CoC Ice Nova Assassin
About this build:
“I wanted to make a complete and detailed build guide, from a near zero Life Based CoC Ice Nova Assassin up to a real dps or tank Hero LL/CI Character. With this build it’s possible to do all Content. It doesn’t matter if its Delve 1k+, kill Sirus A8 or farm juiced T16 maps. I played CoC Assassin already like 20 times in many different variations, some where Tanky as hell with okayish dps, some were very high dps but squishier, some were for a balanced gameplay.”

[Spell]Memoria’s HoT Autobomber Assassin
About this build:
“This build utilizes the Storm Secret ring and it’s buff to Herald of Thunder in combination with Inpulsa/Crit chest explosions. We also need some talents/jewels/items to counter the total of 500 unmitigated lightning damage we take from each Herald of Thunder proc. There are several ways to play this build but the basics is to proc Herald of Thunder in some way, it could be with Orb of Storms, Storm Brand, Ball lightning etc. Then run around and watch everything explode by the help of Inpulsa.”

[Spell]Trivialmatters’s KB/PS Int Stack Wander King
About this build:
“Assassin have the best starting point, provides extra dodge and still has very good move speed while providing immense unconditional dps from ascendancy nodes. Crit immunity is something that cannot be gained otherwise, making this guy only version that can be stun/crit/ailment immune at the same time. This should be the obvious choice for any solo player. All content, deathless without changing anything – Tanky with up to 18K ES, fortify, crit immunity and 28 spell/attack dodge.”

[Spell]Qosmoz’s Low Life CoC Ice Nova Assassin
About this build:
“I’ve played CoC Ice Nova every league since Betrayal. Life version, dual Cospris, Cospri + Lycosidae, CI version (expensive) and finally Low Life version. I like the versatility and damage potential of Low Life version. However, this can be quite glass cannon with low investment. One of the most fun build to play with big damage for single target and big explosions for mapping.

[Spell]Fyregrass’ Storm Brand Assassin
About this build:
“Storm Brand Assassin is one of the strongest builds in the entire game, excelling at virtually every activity the endgame has to offer, it is a fast/potent map clearer, an S tier Boss Killer, it can farm 100% Delirium and it’s also pretty good for things such as Delving and Blighted Maps. One of the biggest advantages of being an extremely versatile yet powerful build is the ability to generate currency efficiently and the ability to do all challenges with a single character and that’s one of the main reasons why you should play Storm Brand. No need to reroll to do content, no need to have different mapping and bossing characters. Storm Brand does it all.”

[Melee]KissMeQuick’s Unleashed Reaper Assassin
About this build:
“I see that the build is pretty good and well balanced now with being able to level comfortably in T16 40% – 60% Delirious maps with boss kills. Only expensive items are Kaom’s and Atziri’s Acuities; Acuities are not necessary. This league is a hit and run league which is exactly how this build plays out. You should use 1-2 seconds between casts to reposition yourself with Dash and buff yourself up with Hextouched Storm Brand.”

[Melee]Rahsaan’s The Nightblade Blade Flurry Assassin
About this build:
“I have created the build I wanted to play with my favorite Ascendancy and my favorite skill. It’s not meta, but it’s fast, fun and versatile. Since december 2018, I have done every content with it. I want to pay tribute to Mathil for his old BF Assassin. It has been outdated since 3.5, but it was the basis for this build.”

Saboteur Builds

Saboteur ascendancy

[Trap/Mine]DissentXTV’s Lightning Trapper
About this build:
“Playing & developing on this build since betrayal league (3.5), always doing all content, with an emphasis on not dying! (works for HC) and clearing everything with ease and relatively good map speed (nice for SC, lots of damage!). New league has not changed anything crucial, in fact we’ve received some buffs in terms of better survivability and slightly more damage.”

[Trap/Mine]Luna’s Ultimate Blazing Salvo Miner
About this build:
“In Heist League, GGG released a new skill, Blazing Salvo, that I immediately thought would be great as a mine build. I have been an advocate of off-meta mine builds (Glacial Cascade mines from Blight League to Harvest League) for quite a while and after seeing the overwhelming number of Toxic Rain players at the start of this league, as well as the lack of miners because of the Ball Lightning nerfs, I figured it was time to start sharing my expertise on this unique and interesting build.”

[Trap/Mine]Qosmoz’s Low Life Sabo Miner
About this build:
“I’ve played Ball Lightning (BL) / Glacial Cascade (GC) Miner as my league starter and later my boss killing machine in Harvest & Heist leagues. During the league, I help carrying Sirus and other End Game Bosses while teaching game mechanics as much as I can. One of the easiest builds to level through Acts and early maps!”

Trickster Builds

Trickster ascendancy

[Spell]Havoc209’s Essence Drain Trickster
About this build:
“I have been playing Path of Exile starting in 2013 ever since the first League was released. There were a few reasons I created this guide. Mainly I just wanted to help others find a great build that can be SUPER easy to follow and can be enjoyed. I started Essence Drain back in Legion league and I have been playing it every league since then. I haven’t had ANY issues with this build on any bosses and I kill everything that’s tried to kill me. EVERYTHING dies!!”

[Spell]Darkxellmc’s Ultimate EDTrickster
About this build:
“This is my take on ED-Contagion trickster. It is made for all content in the game, intended for trade softcore. While there are many other ED guides out there, the concepts shown here are the ones that prove to work best overall to clear the most game content. Most of them are nothing new, but this guide compiles the best ones to provide a well rounded character.”

[Spell]Clydehart’s Bloodslinger Exsanguinate CF PB LL Trickster
About this build:
“The concept of the build is to link Exsanguinate into a Spellslinger setup, which triggers every time you attack. Link Corrupting Fever into the 4L gloves (with 30% more damage over time to socketed gems from Essence of Delirium). KB delivery system will stack a ton of Corrupting Fever very quickly. Removes one of the major drawbacks of blood skills, which is the health cost + cast speed. Stack as many methods of a hit as possible to maintain near 10 stacks of Corrupting Fever on enemies. You’ll be applying two DoTs through Exsanguinate and Corrupting Fever every attack.”

[Ranged]GokuTD’s Toxic Rain + Caustic Arrow Trickster
About this build:
“This is another standard Toxic Rain build with my own spin on things. The build is incredibly tanky, decent to high life pool, and has great damage and clear speed. This guide should be rather comprehensive, so if I left anything out, just ask in the comments. I also added some example calculations at the bottom if you want to calculate your own DPS.”

Inquisitor ascendancy

[Spell]Moethelion’s Blazing Salvo Fireball Inquisitor
About this build:
“This is my build guide for a self cast Blazing Salvo Fireball Inquisitor. I played this build to 40/40 challenges in Heist and had probably the most fun ever in PoE, so I decided to start this thread and play the build again in Ritual. Turned out even stronger than before.”

[Spell]Bergerbrush’s Divine Ire Inquisitor
About this build:
“This build is a part of my “Project Builds” where I try to make a viable Build out of every ascendancy in the game that can get you from zero to hero. My plan is that you should be able to start this Build with no investment or as a League Starter and work your way up to Red Maps on an extreme budget. Invest as you play along and be able to clear up to Red Maps including bosses and later with heavier investment be able to clear mostly all endgame content.”

[Spell]1337fun’s Spark Inquisitor
About this build:
“I wanted to make a build, which could do Blight encounters and maps with ease. But also not be lacking in other aspects of the game and also not be a meta one, so it will be cheaper to do. The only piece of content, i haven’t mastered with this build, is HoGM.”

[Spell]Rico’s CoC Arc Mjolner Inquisitor
About this build:
“So… reworked Inquisitor ascendancy now opens up possibility to go cast on crit: Righteous Providence – “1% increased Critical Strike Chance per point of Strength or Intelligence, whichever is lower. It also grants 50 points to strength and intelligence.” Now maybe we can combine that with Mjolner and some aura stacking? Shall we…”

[Melee]Aziire’s Reap Inquisitor – Atlas’s Grim Reaper
About this build:
“A majority of people will want to scale the skills physical DoT multiplier, but that seems boring to me. So instead we are going for a big ol juice scythe that will tear the screen to shreds with its raw damage. Reap has 160% effectiveness of added damage, one of the biggest sources in the game for a skill. By stacking flat damage through Inquisitors Battlemage and then converting and scaling with Avatar of Fire we will be hitting like a truck. Inquisitor is also one of the best for maintaining the ridiculous life costs of thanks to his Ascendancy and location on the tree. A perfect combination :D.”

Hierophant Builds

Hierophant ascendancy

[Spell]Aniki’s Archmage Ball Lightning Hierophant
About this build:
“Amazing clear speed. One cast and the whole screen is clean. High survivability. 3.6k life with 50% MOM plus arcane cloak absorption. Also, it has plenty of block chance. High sustainability with 2000+ life regeneration per second. No worry about elemental alignments! League start friendly. Very smooth to gear up and not so expensive to reach a very strong level.”

[Spell]THE_NAT’s No BS Storm Brand Hierophant
About this build:
“This is a build I created in 3.13 in the hopes of doing all content after I burned out of 3.12 due to lack of survivability and repeated deaths. This build is an excellent all around league start build. With this build I have hit level 97 and done all boss related content solo and deathless (Excluding ‘The Feared’ which took me 4 portals). The only content I haven’t been able to run is 100% Delirium 34% Beyond memes but with enough investment into an explody chest I’m sure you could.”

[Spell]Arcinde’s The Perfect Ice Nova Hierophant
About this build:
“This is my version of the Frostbolt/Ice Nova Hierophant build, a well rounded build with high single target DPS and EHP. I first developed the Hierophant variant of this build in 3.8 in response to the mana rebalancing patch. Since then I’ve been playing and refining the build every league.”

[Totem]Vei’s Elemental Hit Ballista Totem Hiero
About this build:
“The Main Goal of this guide is to provide a Budget Friendly and Accessible Build that everyone can use and doesn’t require one to invest tons of currency into it before it starts working(Handling Red Maps, and Other Endgame content) and this is done through the usage of Frostferno, Quill Rain, 2x Combat Focus and Rain of Splinter early on, and later on through Kaom’s Heart and Lethal Pride(Akoya) for Chainbreaker and never requiring any 6 Links throughout.”

[Totem]BlueeGreg’s Dark Pact Totems Hierophant
About this build:
“Dark Pact is cast by your totems with the Spell Totem Support gem. The Astral Projector ring turns this into a ranged spell. This spell instantly ‘explodes’ on a targeted enemy. The size of this explosion is scaled by area effect, and can obliterate small packs of mobs with a single cast. There is no inherent chaining, projectiles, proliferation, damage over time, or whatnot. The totems will keep machine gun casting until all enemies are dead, or until the totems run out of their own Life from casting.”

[Totem]Dr_John_Dee’s Blazing Salvo Hierophant
About this build:
“This will be my first ever build after a few seasons playing totems! So without further a due I am excited to present the Totem Bombardier. This build will focus around the skill introduced in Heist called Blazing Salvo. This is a semi tanky build with up to 10m Sirius dps. Thanks for stopping by.”

Guardian Builds

Guardian ascendancy

[Minion]Moosseolini’s Holy Relics Guardian
About this build:
“Hello everyone! I wanted to share with you an interesting build which revolves around scaling Summon Holy Relic for our main damage source, and triggering the relic nova spell using either Static Strike or Cyclone. The build features many defence layers, alongside great utility, and high and consistent damage. We do not require flasks or combat buffs to deal our damage, making everything that much more predictable.”

[Minion]Chromino’s HoA The Agonyca Arachnophobia Guardian
About this build:
The Arachnophobia Allstars are using a special combination of the managuardiansetup, gear like the memory vault, and his ascendancies like Radiant Faith. The build reaches also a peakhigh ES 7000-10000, maximal molten shell and frostshield on stun, maximal use of two defensive vaal skills, top Ailments resistances and not flasks-depending. Offensive it’s very effective and balanced with it’s dreamteam-mix of immortal ranged and melee minions. It’s center is the Herald of Agony and speedful spiders with wonderful aggresive style.

[Minion]Quodlike’s Dominating Blow Guardian
About this build:
“Hi guys i have been playing Dominating Blow the last few Leagues and every time i try to trancend the build to higher heights. The build was originaly inspired by Balor Mage guide a few leagues back and i always tried to improve it and reached to this state i will showcase below. This build is about trying to stack as many auras as possible being as tanky as possible while maintaining high Life and very hight damage ofc.”

Necromancer Builds

Necromancer ascendancy

[Minion]Kay’s Necro Summoner (Spectres / Spiders / SRS)
About this build:
“This necro summoner is a very flexible build. The build start off with using a small minion army, and then gives you the choice to specialise on boss killing, fast mapping or a combination. You can do all content in the game with just one character! This build is based on my own character as well as the suggestions and theorycrafting of many other players. So a big thank you to everyone who has contributed!”

[Minion]Brunowa’s King Of All Summoners
About this build:
“This build was so insanely OP when it was created in 3.8 that it has been nerfed every league since then. So unfortunately you can no longer experience the game-breaking mechanics of this build… but it has now become an average to strong, casual and relaxed style build that can still carry you all the way through the game with some investment.”

[Minion]Inkira’s Broodmother: A Summon Spiders Necro
About this build:
“Are you tired of struggling with endgame bosses? Do you like standing around playing dodgeball with Maven’s abilities while your spiders melt her down for you? Do you secretly love spiders? Then this is the build for you! I have been tweaking this build since Legion league and with the Echoes of the Atlas expansion I have yet again cleared all of the end game deathless. This build originally began by adding my own twist to old Summon Spider builds and I believe that my build is better than many of the older Summon Spider builds that I drew inspiration from.”

[Minion]iLL3aT’s Cold Skeleton Warriors/Archers/Mages Summoner
About this build:
“Skeleton builds have always been great characters for beginners to learn the game, as well as for veterans who want an efficient league starter and/or a strong build that can clear all content. For beginners, skeletons offer a simple playstyle with few gear requirements and impactful, incremental upgrades. It is also great to learn boss mechanics on, since you can focus on dodging while your minions do the work. A skeleton focused build can bring you to the endgame (Shaper and Sirus) at a cost of around two exalted orbs worth of currency. Some players have killed their first awakener ever using this build!”

[Minion]Deadandlivin’s Cold Carrion Golem & Spectre Summoner
About this build:
“This is the third league in a row that I have been trying to perfect my own summoner archetype and I’ve finally reached the point where I feel confident enough to create a build guide. This build has been through alot of trial and error through different Ascendancies, different jewel setups, changing skill gems and altering curse setups. The final product is a build that has close to unlimited damage potential which absolutely destroys any content in the game in an instant. This build guide will help us understand many indepth summoner mechanics and functions as a walkthrough taking us straight from level 1 in The Twilight Strand to onetapping the hardest content in the game with a mirror tier build.”

[Minion]Odif’s Newbie Necro Skeleton Mage Necromancer
About this build:
“This build is a newbie friendly, super low cost, league starter build. It will get you deep into red maps with minimal investment. With just the currency you accumulate as you progress through red maps you will be strong enough to kill all single end game bosses. This build uses Skeleton Mages to do massive dps on a low budget. It’s crazy how fast bosses melt with this set up, as it will take most bosses deep into negative resists. For defense we use Bone Offering with Mistress of Sacrifice, Glancing Blows, and Unwavering Stance to gain unlimited 66% attack block, and around 52% spell block. We also have good life gained on block, good life pool, high life regen, and are immune to stun.”

[Spell]Zzang’s LL VD+DD Spellslinger Necromancer
About this build:
“This build is for you if you like massive single target damage combined with tankiness that has screenwide AoE autoaim one button gameplay skill which off screens and clears all game content including Hall of Grandmasters easy and deathless.”

[Spell]Gryph’s Thirsty Archmage Cremation Necromancer
About this build:
“The simple explanation is that we use Desecrate to spawn corpses. We cast Cremation on a corpse–which triggers our helmet, let it kill everything in sight and move on. It feels a lot like Vortex/Coldsnap in a lot of ways. I like to use Kitava’s Thirst helmet to spam debuffing spells. And that’s it, as we cast Cremation we’ll trigger the spells in our helmet for maximum convenience.”

[Spell]SiCH13’s VolaBomber – CwC Volatile Dead Necromancer
About this build:
“The idea is to cast Volatile Dead without any headache that comes with this skill. I mean we don’t want to create corpses manually and we don’t want to stand still while casting. So I choose Cyclone + Cast While Channeling combination to trigger Volatile Dead. Next step is to give our character some kind of passive skill that creates corpses infinitely. We want to cast Volatile Dead in any situation (even in hideout). I decided to use CWDT setups to trigger Unearth and Desecrate. Last thing to do is to find the way to deal damage ourself constantly. I found few effective solutions.”

[Spell]Primaeva’s Bosskiller Brand Necromancer
About this build:
“In this build, an Arcanist Brand with Volatile Dead and another with Desecrate jump on a target, spawning 12 corpses and blowing 9/12 of them up + generating 9/12 balls. The brands have already leapt to a new target and repeat the cycle there – and each cycle takes less and less time to complete. Corpse Pact supplies up to 200% cast speed to Arcanist Brand, which brings activation rates to around 0.26. Arcanist Brand allows you to goof off and run in circles / towards the end of the map while your millions of DPS blows the head off everything.”

[Spell]Gryph’s Burning Witch – Volatile Dead Necromancer
About this build:
“Cast on Crit VD is not a new idea. One of my biggest issues with it has always been that I am lazy and like my buffs from utility spells. The biggest and most impactful, one being Bone Offering for the massive Attack and Spell Block chance and the life recovery gained when you block buffs. CoC VD/DD builds do not typically have a way to automate this reliably(if at all) and that is not appealing to me. And so, inspired by my love of Scold’s Bridle and inflicting damage on myself, I am utilizing Eye of Innocence for self damage to trigger my spells while I spin and spin and spin.”

Occultist Builds

Occultist ascendancy

[Spell]ShakCentral’s Vortex For Everyone
About this build:
“Do you hate having to choose between high damage builds and ones with great defenses? Do you want a single build that can take on deep delves and still crush Awakener 8 Sirus? This guide is your stop for all things Vortex. Whether you want a character easily geared in SSF, a safe boss killer, or just a build that deals constant damage with maneuverability, you’ll find what you need!”

[Spell]Clydehart’s Coldslinger / Vortex / Creeping Frost Occultist
About this build:
“This build focuses on Cold DoT (damage over time), where it uses the combination of two cold DoT spells for the main damage: Vortex and Creeping Frost. However, instead of the traditional, clunky self-cast, it utilizes two separate Spellslinger setups to launch out Frostbolt and Creeping Frost. When Vortex is self-cast while there are frostbolts on the screen, it will consume the Frostbolt to dump a Vortex there. Turns out, you can cover your map in about 3-4 attacks.”

[Spell]Ichigo’s Lahkesis Queen of Chaos ED/Bane/Contag Occultist
About this build:
“Enemies will have to bypass solid evade/dodge layer first, then face all the mitigation, have to avoid getting hit by ED (yeah good luck with that while being slowed to a crawl) AND have to deal good damage to give the queen enough trouble. This makes her very resilient to all kinds of damage. However, watch out for any spell-dominant users with good damage like Atziri, Elder, Shaper, and don’t get too cocky and try to facetank everything in the game.”

[Ranged]F4ward’s Caustic Arrow/Death’s Oath Occultist
About this build:
“This is an attempt to create a fun build with a decent bossing skill. Luckily Caustic Arrow and Death Aura like the same things: DoT multiplier and Chaos Damage. The result is a very fun and dynamic build with incredible clear speed, without too much button mashing. For clearing we have Death Aura which only requires you to run through the mobs. Don’t be afraid to charge into a pack, just go where the monsters are and keep moving. Less stopping – less chance they will target you. For hard Rares and Bosses we have Caustic Arrow which lets us keep range and deal decent DPS. Just shoot and run around.”

Elementalist Builds

Elementalist ascendancy

[Spell]Enki’s Arc Elementalist
About this build:
“With this guide I want to provide a simple caster build for beginners that is fun and easy to play. Instead of just showcasing a build, this guide is made to be a comprehensive learning experience. There’s many indepth explanations and links to various wiki pages for new players to understand. I’ve tried to keep it short, but some things just can’t be explained properly with only a few words.”

[Spell]Dejuvenate’s Flameslinger Elementalist
About this build:
“This is the best starter build for fresh league bar none. Requires only flame wall to work. Flamewall is one of the highest damage over time skills in the game. It requires almost nothing to work. 2-3 link is enough to carry us thru entire story. 4 link is superfluous. You can run it as your first character. The clear as flameslinger is kinda unethical.”

[Spell]Rumblepie’s Elemental Hit Elementalist
About this build:
“Super fast, super tanky generally just super strong. Can do fast mapping, and hard bosses / 100% delirius hardness with only a slightly different flask setup. Reasonably easy to get started. It is really comfortable to play in all content, except for AL8 where you need to know the fight well.”

[Spell]SoupJoond’s Divine Ire Igniter Elementalist
About this build:
“The new Elementalist allows for some crazy damage conversion into ignite, so I wanted to take advantage of this as much as possible. First, we are going pure lightning damage. No fire damage dealt means we get zero effort Elemental Equilibrium, which drastically increases our ignite damage. Additionally, our highest damage will be lightning, so Shaper of Storms grants us 25% more effect of shock, a rare instance of a “more” ailment modifier. Because all of our damage ignites, we can take Elemental Overload for a flat 40% more damage. Our golems now automatically respawn and grant life regen, physical damage reduction base and more damage total.”

[Minion]Angry_Roleplayer’s Flame Golems Elementalist
About this build:
“Since i cleared most of the end-game content with this exact setup and literally no extra effort, i decided to leave this build as easy and straightforward as possible to both old and new players. It’s a very easy setup here, without complex double-curse curse-on-hit, EE selfcast stuff and other unnecessary things that are literally not worth it for 99.99% of the game.”

[Ranged]HardPrimat’s Burning Arrow Chain Reactions Elementalist
About this build:
“This Build is for you if you like to see Wraeclast burn. Burning Arrow Ignite builds weren’t in the worst state before 3.13, but the new changes to Elementalist pushed it into an S+ Tier Mapper and melts every boss in the game. Chain Reactions allows us to chain react our ignites similar to ED+Contagion without the need of 2 button gameplay. Ignite Proliferation leaves a burning spot on a dead corpse killing everything running into the burning spot. The new ascendancy node “Shaper of Flames” allows us to ignite with all kind of damage. That means no matter what kind of damage you add to your attack (Chaos/Phys/Light/Cold/Fire) everything increases your ignite damage.”

Path Of Exile: Top 10 Heist Builds, Ranked

Path of Exile'snewest league, Heist, includes an entirely new endgame activity for players to embark on. These Heists, while buggy at times, offer a massive amount of currency for those that can brave the overturned guards within.

RELATED: 10 Best Action-RPGs Of 2019 (According To Metacritic)

Since the enemies tied to Contracts and Grand Heists are so tough, many players are looking for builds that can dish out tons of damage and can take an equal amount of punishment. No build in Path of Exile is perfect — not without being extremely expensive, at least. Thankfully, there are quite a few top-tier builds that vary in price and playstyle that players should keep in mind. Here are ten great builds players can try in Path of Exile's Heist league.

10 Poison Blade Vortex Assassin

Blade Vortex is a fantastic spell that can rapidly strike targets that surround the player. Since it attacks so quickly, it is a perfect skill to use alongside a poison Assassin. Since Assassin can stack poison stacks to ludicrous levels, this build has a great amount of single target potential once players have decent gear and gem links. While this build has top-tier clear speed and has plenty of headroom for upgrades, it's tough to league start or level with.

For those interested in playing a Poison BV Assassin, check out Aanton's build guide here.

9 Archmage Ball Lightning

Despite Ball Lightning getting nerfed in 3.12, its damage output is still so insane when coupled with Archmage that it is still a top-tier build. This build works by obtaining a Forbodding Mana Flask and drinking it as much as possible. After a few seconds, the player will repeatedly regain thousands of mana a second, allowing Archmage to consume a player's entire mana pool to grant millions of damage per second.

As for Ascendancy, there are a few options. Hierophant is a good option due to its permanent Arcane Surge and miniature Mind over Matter mechanic. If players pick Hierophant, do not grab Sanctuary of Thought as it lowers damage output. Alternatively, an Ascendant can multiclass as a Pathfinder and Inquisitor. Pathfinder helps maintain flask charges while Inquisitor grants extra damage.

A Hierophant build by Aniki_Leads_people can be found here. Big Ducks has an Ascendant Ball Lightning build that can be viewed here.

8 Aurastacking Ethereal Knives

Aurastacking is one of the most overpowered mechanics in Path of Exile and is only kept in line due to how expensive it is to get going. Players must focus on obtaining reduced mana reserve and increased aura effect on their gear. Fortunately, Cluster Jewels can provide aura effect and both items and jewels can provide for mana reserve.

The goal is to use as many auras as possible to help support any skill. Most players choose Ethereal Knives due to its great clear speed. The best Ascendancies for this build are Necromancer for increased attack and cast speed per aura, Guardian for more survivability, and Ascendant for a blend of Necromancer and Guardian traits. Regardless of choice, this build is one of the tankiest and highest-DPS builds in the game. Unfortunately, this build requires 50 to 100 Exalts to truly get going. If players can fund the build, prepare to be nearly unstoppable.

KobeblackmambaTTV has a build guide that can be viewed here.

7 Cast On Crit Cyclone Assassin

Assassins are the best Ascendancy for Cast on Critical Strike builds in Path of Exile. Due to the Assassin's inherently high critical chance and Power Charges, they go great with any skill that can critically strike frequently.

Most Cast on Crit Assassins tend to use Cyclone with the Cast on Critical Strike support gem or a Cospri's Malice Unique sword, sometimes both at once. For Heist league, many players are using Cyclone supported with Cast on Critical Strike and Ice Nova to destroy groups of targets in an instant. Vaal Ice Nova makes for a fantastic clearing skill against Legions, Breaches, and high pack size Heist Contracts. Focus on increasing Cold damage and critical strike multipliers to make this build hit even harder.

A detailed guide for this build has been made by wishdropper and can be viewed here.

6 Toxic Rain Pathfinder

Some of the most popular league-start builds in Path of Exile involve damage-over-time skills. Toxic Rain Pathfinder is a great example of this. While this build relies heavily on flasks for defenses, the build makes up for that with phenomenal clear speed and incredibly high damage. Pathfinder's poison proliferation and flask uptime make Toxic Rain a top-tier bow build for either league start or for clearing Tier 16 Delirious maps—as long as players have top-tier gear.

Remicaster1 has a new player friendly guide for this build that can be viewed here.

5 Essence Drain Contagion Trickster

The gold standard of league starters, Essence Drain and Contagion prove to be an unstoppable combination for most Path of Exile content. Players throw down an Essence Drain orb and follow that up with a Contagion cast, spreading the Essence Drain effect to all nearby targets. This results in a wave of poison spreading through hordes of foes.

To improve survivability and damage, Trickster is the best Ascendancy one can choose. ED Contagion Tricksters require almost no gear to play as well, although be prepared to spend dozens of Exalts getting this build to tackle Awakener Eight Sirus or Delirious Tier 16 Maps.

For a detailed build guide, check out Darkxellmc's Path of Exile forum guide here.

4 Steel Skill Champion

Steel skills have seen an overhaul with Heist league, now utilizing impales and enemy weapons as ammo. While this sounds clumsy as a mechanic, it works fine in practice when paired with chance to impale and the new Call of Steel skill.

RELATED: Blizzard's 10 Best Games (According To Metacritic)

No character can dish out impales as deadly as the Champion Ascendancy. Navigate the tree to grab as much life, impale effect, and damage as possible. Utilizing Champion's taunt and impale effects, this character is equally tanky and adept at clearing content. Splitting Steel is best for clearing while Lancing Steel is great for single-target DPS. Shattering Steel is also a good option.

DonTheCrown has a YouTube guide around this build that can be viewed here.

3 Toxic Rain Miner Trickster

Instead of using a bow to use Toxic Rain, players can instead support them with mines to quickly apply multiple poison stacks on a target. Compared to the Pathfinder selfcast variant, the Trickster miner variant is much cheaper and less reliant on flasks for defense. This comes at the cost of some damage when compared to a geared Pathfinder, but the damage difference is negligible in most cases.

YouTuber Crouching_Tuna has a league start variant of this build that can be viewed here.

2 Raise Spectre Necromancer

After Redemption Sentries were nerfed in 3.12, Spectre builds have been looking for new enemies to reanimate. There are plenty of solid options, but the star of this league thus far has been Syndicate Operatives from Betrayal. These enemies can be found in Syndicate Safehouse missions. Other solid options for Spectres include Redemption Sentries, Frost Auto Scouts from Heist Contracts, and Slave Drivers for players on a budget.

Regardless, nearly every Spectre is built around Cold damage. Use four green socket Triad grips to convert a minion's physical damage to cold. This will let Hatred's aura double-dip in effectiveness while making Frost Bomb and the Frostbite Hex invaluable for weakening tough foes.

Kay Gaming has a large roster of budget-friendly and endgame Spectre builds players can view on her YouTube channel here.

1 Carrion Golem Elementalist

Some players might have noticed that golem-related gear has become much more expensive in Heist. This is due to a surge in players league starting as a Carrion Golem Elementalist, a powerful minion build that can take down all content with minimal investment.

Carrion Golems wipe the floor with virtually all foes thanks to their fantastic damage that ramps up as more minions are summoned. Increasing minion damage is enough to get these golems working for league start, but players that enjoy the playstyle can pursue aura cluster jewels and mana reservation to give these golems some extra power.

WaffleT's forum guide on a Carrion Golem Elementalist goes over all of the build's gearing and gem options, which players can view here.
